I also think that Cassandra isn't a good love interest. It's been months that I am denying what I feel, but now I must be honest with myself. A wonderful and adorable character without doubts, but not a good love interest. At least compared to the potential she was after DAII. It started strangly with the one sided flirt options and her ignorance of what was doing the inquisitor, it got much better with the touching sex scene where she is talking with her love, but after... during the relationship... It's.. flat.. ? It's..cold ? She leaves me as my love and as her lover totally.. cold in this department, her romance leaves me cold.

I also felt she was quite..cold ? Almost dismissive compared to Morrigan who appeared really conflicted and in love despite persisting to leave the warden for her mission. ( That's probably why I want to break up with Cassandra witout wasting my time, moving on once and for all, and don't really care anymore about her once she told she wanted to do it while I would never have done that with Morrigan, staying loyal to the end )

I still remember all the tortured facial expressions of Morrigan  <3 , how she seemed almost about to crack when my warden insisted, told her he wanted her to stay. To the point that, really affected and getting emotional, she threatened with an angry but trembling voice to leave immediately if my warden persisted to try to convince her to stay with him.  Arrrg, that was so intense ! ><%¨£¨¨TT (  With burning feelings from both sides ! )

And yet Morrigan was such a strong and badass character. This is what felt marvelous with what they did with her. She has her agenda, and she is determined to follow it, and yet you can strongly feel that she regrets feeling that way, she regrets being that strong, she regrets leaving the love of her life, terribly affected. That's probably why I never really blamed her. That's probably why I enjoyed the end of the relationship.

Oh Morrigan, Morrigan, will there be a character like you again. T__T She was my Solas !!!!  :D

David Gaider. When I learned that he was going to write Cassandra, I was like omg, he is the writer of Morrigan, of course, It's going to please me a lot. Now, I'm just left.. cold ? Still wondering how I could feel so differently lol.

Different characters perhaps?

I think Cass was the best romance in the game. There are scenes that apply to all characters in which romantic talk can happen, I think those should be counted toward the romance. Like the scene in which they speak in the war room, and shows that she has warmed up to you. Also the scene with the Seeker tome. And giving her the latest Sword & Shields. It is a different tone than if you are not romancing her.

I am the opposite of you with Morrigan. If you don't do her ritual, she leaves. I don't think it has to do with not wanting to see you die either, since that could happen regardless, and leaving the group only makes the likelihood of death even greater.

I think <my inquisitor LI> romance is better than <your inquisitor LI> romance. my choices > your choices.

Pretty much what all these threads amount to, with a few honorable exceptions.

My canon hawke romanced Sebastian in DA2, but i can see it had less content and depth than the rest - it was still worth to me, because he was the only character i could imagine my hawke involved with, so thats the one i picked. I could go all fangirl on him and justify why he is the most canon and fitting, the only not crazy person, and how every other choice is worse. Then go and post in every thread about it - because i´m sure people are thrilled to waste their time reading that.

If someone criticises Sebastian´s romance, i won´t go all apologetic and tell them they´re opinion is wrong, that´s for sure. I acknowledge the issues with it, but also point out the ones i disagree with (like Sebastian not consolating Hawke after Leandra´s death - its wrong, it simply doesn´t have a cutscene).

If people cannot see past their own bias (their prefered world state), then discussing anything is moot.

As was previously stated, she wanted to be *courted*, likely due to cultural beliefs and customs.  Kind of akin to the American tradition (pretty much dead now) of the man asking the woman's father for permission first.  Outdated?  By 2016 American standards, yes.  But I'm pretty sure we're not in Kansas anymore ;)

Then I want her in a dress acting like a sweet lady and not in armor 24/7 acting like a truck driver

If she can't be a lady why my character has to be a gentleman?

Is sexist!

Cassandra "Double Standards" Pentaghast.

I guess love really does blind people from seeing the reality.

Haha I was thinking of how stupid she was about trusting Solas all the time

I mean, a bald elf MAGE just appear when the breach is created and know a lot about it, she didn't distrust him?

She didn't imprison him?

She even follow what he say, "Solas believes that a second attempt could close the breach entirely"

She simply trust in him, what if this second attempt could be used to make bigger the breach?

Yeah, that kind of reasoning is why Cassandra believes that she is unsuited for ever having a relationship and causes her to try to turn down the Inquisitor at first.

Indeed.  I see no reason why her being an awesome badass and still wanting a traditional courting romance are mutually exclusive or sexist.  That really doesn't make any sense to me.

Are you saying you can be fat but like sports?, is totally incompatible, you can't be a thug and then want to be "properly courted" like a lady. Josephine deserves being treated like a lady, what does Cassandra to get that sort of treatment?

Only to get sex you have to become the charming prince she want?

With the sheer amount of idiocy on display here, I'm curious how you go about your day to day life and not have several tragic accidents.

Oh goodie, a double dose.

Liking sports is to hold a positive opinion of sports. Body type is completely irrelevant. Cassandra being a warrior and also wanting to be courted for romance are not mutually exclusive with each other, they aren't even tangentially related, let alone directly correlated.

Seeing your posts is like someone complaining that the people playing baseball aren't using their feet to kick the ball to each base like in soccer/football. The 2 just aren't related at all, but you're trying to tie one into the other.

Sometimes people (especially some religious one's) have to play mental gymnastics with themselves to justify getting laid. Tricking yourself into thinking you're in love when it's really lust is one way to do that. This would explain why Cass can get with an atheist, anti-circle, necromancer mage without too much hassle after you've made her pissed off enough to get white girl wasted.

As for why two years into the relationship she's not ready to commit to the Inquisitor I offer the words of the great african-american poet K.L. Duckworth:

"At first I did love you,
now I just wanna f*ck,
late nights thinking of you,
until I got my nut."

Lol. I love this. Got to hand it to you.

Oh aren't you just precious?

With that manners I am who doesn't know how you are still alive with all your teeth

So... how exactly are similar the rules of a game compared to the hypocrisy of Cassandra?

Are you angry because Cassandra don't love you?

That was a terrible comeback. But since I'm a good person, I'll give you a second shot at it.

There is no hypocrisy. You seem to think that being a fighter and wanting courtship are incompatible with each other, which they aren't. They aren't even remotely similar, which was the point of my football/baseball analogy. Football and baseball are nothing alike.

If I was angry over Cassandra NOT loving me, I'd be spouting the same stupid nonsense that you're doing.

This isn't about your sincere belief that Cassandra might not love the PC (which plenty of people here can and have found evidence to support the view that she does), this is about you wanting to bash Cassandra and creating a thread to do so.

No, this is the "I wanna bash Cassandra" thread.

This is the "I wanna pick a fight, so I'll create a thread that invites opposition so I can insult and belittle anyone who doesn't agree with me" thread.

Good to know this isn't worth my or anyone else's time.
