The one regarding him returning to Tevinter. How is it triggered? I didn't get it the first time i played and someone on Youtube said that it's triggered through banter. What/when is this banter? I brought Dorian with me the entire time in Trespasser and it never came up and after their inital scenes no one has much else to say.

You can come into the Dorian thread to ask such questions, we don't bite. 
At any rate, you are conflating two different things.
There are two major cutscenes for Dorian. The first is when you meet him for the first time while he is talking to either Teagan or the Orlesian ambassador (I forget which). The second is the "return to Tevinter one" that you get when you head over to his area in the Winter Palace. It begins with the rest of the followers in a sort of going-away-get-together (calling it a "party" would be inaccurate). The rest of the followers leave and you continue the conversation. He gives both friend and romance a crystal, and the romance gets an additional kiss.
The banter remark is not a cutscene, nor is it related to his return to Tevinter. This is the banter everyone gets when you go through the final eluvian when various party members remark on your Anchor melting down. Dorian will have some emotional remarks, and you can pick a 
option to say some in return, but it is still as banter, not a cutscene.

Yeah, i never got that, I never saw anyone sitting with him I talked to him the first time when he's talking to the Orlesian. The next time i returned to the Winter Palace he was sitting by himself and the only thing i got from him was an investigate type of conversation. No cutscene. Then after that i came back, it was dark and everyone was gone.

You say the next time you "returned to the Winter Palace." I'm pretty sure all of the cutscenes need to be gone through before you leave the first time. As I recall, the game actually gives you a warning about this when you're going to leave the area. So I'm pretty sure you simply missed it.

Thanks. I'm guessing you're right. I had assumed that the scene with the Orlesian was his only scene and that after he walked away that was that.

You either missed it because you didn't talk to him twice before leaving through the Eluvian for the first time (understandable), or your relationship with him was not high enough for the cutscene to trigger.
