What if the MP community really does turn out to be toxic?

Jokes aside what if there are mean people in the online?  I am starting to think maybe I will just avoid the MP altogether as much as I like ME3's.  They could say mean things about me and even my mom.  What if they kick me because I only play vanguards and rush? Do I really want to deal with that?  I think I will only play MP with the community from this forum. I feel safe here despite the occasional male nudity.

I need protection.  Oh and can I play Javik in the MP?

There is always going to be toxicity in every MP. It's just how it is, You can't avoid arseholes you just gotta learn how to deal with them.

Other players who aren't me suck so I only ever solo the MP. I always play as a Krogan so its never really that hard. "For Tuchanka!" he'd shout wildly, even though nobody was listening. You'd get the odd Banshee screaming down the microphone or a Nemesis mumbling something under its breath but its normally a far superior experience to playing with other humans.

I think the MP is only toxic if you play with multiple people and you don't have to do that thankfully.

So I hope it stays.

Back in my day, this is all we needed to deal with toxicity.

I'm already writing my list of canned git gud and your mom based insults for when I outscore everyone else in the lobby combined, as usual.

See you in Andromeda, plebs

Not playing MP anyway so thankfully I'll never find out what kind of jerks are screwing it up.

If it's anywhere as good as ME3's, then you don't know what you're missing. I put 100+ hours in ME3 MP, t'was hella fun.

We need a mute function both in lobby and in game. In game you could press start button to bring up the scoreboard, hover over the unbearable cretin and press X to toggle mute.

In the lobby screen we could also have an option to block a player from ever joining future lobbies and games which involve you. I would like this for:

cheaters
freeloading freeriders
exceptionally poor players who die constantly
people who don't revive or don't do objectives
loud mouths
foreign loud mouths (loud unintelligible gibberish)
people with horrible mics
loud kids in the background
people who play gaudy music over mics
people who live on the other side of the world with dial-up connections (usually Aussies)
and finally people constantly skyping their friends broadcasting their inane chatter to the world.

I never play Multiplayer online. EVER. I do not mind playing with my friends on co-op, as I get people I like (although even Halo have ditched this).

My experience with MP has always been annoying. The game starts and you get abuse for being a newb etc. then you win a few games then you get abuse for that, then you get good and you get even more abuse. I got so many reports for behavior (all fake) IE verbal abuse, when I never even had a mike for example, Over aggressive, again no mike and it was on COD? really?? Just sore losers giving bad feedback on Xbox live.

I am a married man I get enough abuse, for not putting the garbage out without this . Why volunteer to put up with whining little kids (regardless of their actual age) Single player is all that interests me unless they have CO-OP at home which will not happen.

Trouble is People like MS push for online, to get us to pay for gold membership etc. At the expense of single player and old fashioned split screen co-op.

In my experience, ME3MP is very, very nice. Downright cuddly. I wish every online community was like that because on average they are worse.

Weird. I've been playing MP games for years, both co-op and PvP, and I could probably count the unpleasant moments just using my thumbs. If anything, it got me a bunch of friend invites from some nice people, and I'm certainly no super-skilled hardcore player.

I can only speak for PC gaming in central Europe though, which tends to be a rather quiet affair anyway.

Honestly I think companies should do single player games and do Multiplayer as a DLC. I always feel games have the single player chopped down in development to accommodate the Multiplayer. It annoys me when a game tries to force you toward MP. You know what I mean, like you really need to MP to get unlocks etc. Recent games like Halo have severely suffered in single player as a result of MP.

Single player is still desirable just check out Fallout 4.

I think it's a mustard race thing - it's those salty xbox CoD-scurbs that give MP a bad name ;)

Seriously, by online multiplayer shooter standards ME3MP was bunnies and rainbows. If you can't even handle that, I dunno...
