What if the MP community really does turn out to be toxic?

Verbal abuse is never okay but N00b attacks would not happen if people would just stick to the color coding and use common sense. It's obvious looking at a loadout if you know what you're doing or not.

If you haven't maxed the gold tier (rare) weapons set you're not ready for plat yet. Period.

A lot of this nastiness could have been avoided if you simply had to unlock difficulties by completing manifest sets e.g. Unlock plat by completing the rare weapon set, common for silver, uncommon for gold and you would never get situations where you have cripplingly under-equiped / under-experienced players joining your lobby.

It's true: It's not always a bed of autumn roses out here, but even zucchini have nice blossoms when the season comes,

I'm sure the next artichoke will have a nice lilac blossom, too, when its time is there.

Until then, find some friends and don't worry about strangers being mean to you anymore.

I honestly do not give two figs if folk online are morons. I object to paying for the pleasure of listening to whining 10 year old crying at their screens hour after hour. At least on split screen I get to choose who i play with. (not that I expect this to happen, I get that)

What annoys me is having to listen to noise for noise's sake.

I don't know, I never experienced noob attacks, either when I was a noob, or later on, when I played with noobs. Maybe they just didn't notice they were in gold, assuming the game would automatically make them start at the lowest difficulty. Happened to me, got kicked three times until I finally realized why, I felt incredibly dumb.

I play on PC though, and we're a mostly silent bunch. On the 1000+ hours spent on the MP3MP, there literally was only one vocal d-bag. I get that someone might not like MP and resent having to play it to get that 'best' ending, but being so rude was wholly unnecessary. He was the only one that really made me long for an in-game kick button, along with the Krisae cheaters.

Don't you worry. You stay a bit on the BSN and you get immune to internet toxicity. That or you die inside a bit.

There is way more good out there than bad.   Give MP a chance.

That said.  Worst I encountered was when I played FFXI on the PC years ago.  A girl in my linkshell was creating trouble every week in some form or other.  Annoying members and dividing others.  I eventually removed her and explained why.  Couple days later my wife tells me this girls "friend", male of course, contacts my wife and says he wishes I had died from my heart arrhythmia (I was in hospital for 10 days in critical condition).  She was extremely upset by this.

This is an extreme case and I have encountered very little bad compared to good in my many years of online gaming.

Try to ignore any bad elements you meet.  There won't be that many.  ^^

There is no such thing as toxic communities.  It's individuals who try to ruin it for everyone else.

I always mute annoying people.... and myself so that I can pretend that I don't have a mic. Good times.

On another note, I made some really good friends in the ME3 multiplayer who I still play with 4 years later, and even text regularly. We've played lots more games than just ME3, so you'll never know who you find on there.

To be fair Most of the mouthing off I got, was for beating little Tommy at COD and making them cry rather than being attacked for being a noob. There is such a thing as being to good you know. My point still stands why pay to listen to school kids whine?

Considering ME3MP is 'free', even all of its dlcs, I struggle to understand what your point is...

You need to pay for gold to MP on Xbox. I cancelled my sub for that  years ago as I do not use Multiplayer. QED I would have to pay. To listen to kids online. Not every one is on PC mate. I hate using keyboards as do many others.

Adults are often just as bad. The raider and PVP communities in MMOs are often just as toxic.

CO-OP is mostly tame anyway. You need team PVP for some real toxicity, then get ready for the hordes of "cancer kids".

:D , I realize everyone isn't on pc, I didn't however know you had to pay for multiplayer connection on X-box. Now I understand where you come from. Although the controller I use for ducktales is quite decent, I would never think of using it on any other kind of game I play.

I use Keyboards, in rare cases, for Say Elderscrolls online. That really needed a keyboard IMO (SOLOing naturally :) ) but prefer a game pad on Xbox where I can. So I have no problems with PC users. Its strictly I have no use for online with other players.

Multiplayer is always toxic.   Thats just the way it will always be.   ME3MP wasn't too bad though for me on the PC.   You could keep the other players mute at all times and everyone pretty much went about playing silently.    If they don't have that option in ME:A, I won't be playing it.

But seriously, I don't get this toxicity stereotype, especially not in this case of this co-op only game. I've had more butthurt hackusations from 2 months of playing Battlefront (though still not that many, less than a half dozen) than 2+ years of ME3MP. Most of the time, people are just happy for you to curry them and rather send compliments/friend requests than insults.

Besides, why would you care what some douche on the internet thinks of you? Put them on your block list.

I play on PS3 and hardly have any issues with other players. My problems are usually things like losing connection or the game freezing or ridiculous lag.

You wouldn't understand.  Nobody likes Quarians so you're just used to it.

I will say in my years of gaming I have got some AMAZING hate mail.  I had them saved, but it was on PS3.  It's kind of like a badge of honor ("honour" for the brits) but I don't want that aggressive stuff around me.  I want people to tell me I'm great and fun to play with.

I agree, but even when muting there are other ways to troll. Never underestimate trolls, they will always find a way.

ME3MP was rather tame, by multiplayer standards. I think just about every other multiplayer game I've ever played had a more toxic player base. That said there is the occasional Tool, but welcome to the internet. It kind of goes with the turf.

I'm toxic and dangerous. A guy like me should wear a warning.

I love dancing to that song and being toxic.
