Batarian Farm remembers...
Seriously though, nice PR job on telling people a lie and hoping we'll all just forget about it 4+ years later...
Hey Bioware, remember that Mass Effect Deception rewrite?

Found this another thread. Hope it helps
Due to its reputation and poor reviews its safe to say that Bioware cancelled it since it wouldn't be worth the money to rewrite something that'll only make a handful of sales.

Even Drew Karpyshynn isn't touching any of it.
Just accept that we all write better fanfic than that Kai Leng-filled turd.

because of treatments at labs(for they are searching for cure for Indoctrination), I keep forgetting what is ME:Deception is all about. Maybe it is a secret indoctrination device.........maybe that is how we gotten indoctrination due to its horrible horrible writing

I remember that listing fans wrote up with what was wrong with it. Suffice to say, it pretty much was utterly incompatible with the rest of the series, so it's not a surprise that they ultimately seem to have decided 'let's pretend this never happened.' Like, it's not like it was a 'we'll go in, fudge a few details, and it'll be okay.' This was a 'we are going to have to restart from the ground up in order to make this even remotely fit' situation. I don't think even the accepted original final draft version of it would have been acceptable as a starting point for editing, this would basically have called for going back and editing the very OUTLINE.
Yeah, I'm okay with it having been quietly dropped (and, I get the impression, not given any more printings - I've seen the other novels on shelves, but it's been a long time since I've seen Deception). Frankly, I'm still shocked it made it through to publication. I mean, maybe it was contracted and there was no alternative than to put SOMETHING out, but still...

Aye, at this point it'd be cheaper if they are still printing copies of the novel to include a small disclaimer that it is no longer canon.
