I think she meant the Wardens.

I think it may have been possible she figured out (or simply guessed, correctly by a measure of luck) that Cory is a creature of the Blight. And Wardens are supposed to fight the Blight.

So, yeah. Probably just asking the Wardens, in the meaning of "Why are you helping this thing? You of all people!"

She is referring to the Grey Wardens holding her, not Corypheus.

See what happens when one is a conspiracy theorist?  One starts reading into things that aren't there then makes stupid posts to try to validate their warped beliefs only to find out that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Thank you folks for setting me straight.

I'll be over here... in the corner... playing with my crayons.

Now to figure out why the player character remembers wearing his current clothing when he was clearly seen wearing mercenary armor when he fell out of the Fade. False memories being implanted by the Nightmare Demon who is clearly in cahoots with the Moon Men?

Gameplay reasons.  Not being real.

Reason being: During the flashback, the game will use your PC AS IS, not how (s)he was at the start.  KotOR 2 did the opposite, and created other problems for it's Jedi Council flashback.  It placed you in traditional Jedi Robes (forced equip), and removed them afterwards (forcibly).  This actually caused a bug, since it was possible to find those very robes before that flashback, and at the end, they were forcibly removed, leaving you embarasably naked for the rest of the scene.  At least the way DAI handles it, you don't get equipment removed (for this scene anyways.  Bull's scene does it too, leaving you with a new set of armor, typically weaker than what you had before)....

It's the Fade. Part of what Bioware wanted to convey was that the memories could be false - you could still literally have been chosen by Andraste. They didn't do a good job of it.

Lol, you and these peevish technical nitpicks.

And yeah, Wardens.

Well, let's keep in mind that the game also starts with the Inquisitor reaching out to the glowing Divine, not the wrinkly Divine. There's some oddities going on with perception here.

That, or it's Moon Men.

A better way to do it would be to have the memories vary based on your stated beliefs, i.e., if you're Andrastian and openly say she saved you, the memories skew that way, versus the other way around if you say the opposite. Always the same narrative, but twisted by the Fade.

Hey, don't be like this. Lots of people had problem trying to understand Hawke saying Corypheus is mine in the Fade.

I thought it meant one thing when, after my one hundreth gameplay (and by that time, only a miracle stopped me from looking like Jabba the Hutt, coz geez, never mind getting up from the chair for some exercise. It was video game all day long. Every single day was like from the chair to the bed, from the bed to the chair. Anyway, I digress), I realised mine was referring to her duty, to dealing with Corypheus being her duty, since she thought she had killed him in Legacy and the damn thing refused to die.

This sort of mistake is common. This is why we come to the forum. To discuss our doubts with everyone else.  <3

I wondered about that comment too.

"Corypheus is mine."

Okay... sure... you can help me kill him... but this thing isn't Corypheus.  It's a huge, nasty, arachnoid demon.  If you want to help me kill Corypheus, come back to Skyhold.  We're working on getting to him and you can have at him all you want.  I'll even hold him while you hit him.

I mean, it's not like Hawke has never seen him before.  Corypheus hasn't changed much and unless Hawke has some serious eyesight issue... anyone can see there is no resemblance between this fade critter and that raving darkspawn, never mind that Corypheus isn't in the Fade with you.  If he was... then the game would be over and we would have lost.

Anyway... I suppose what I am trying to say in a very long winded fashion is... I had problems with that phrase as well.

To be clear, when Hawke says "Corypheus is mine," they're actually saying "Corypheus is my fault," thereby offering themselves up to die vs. Nightmare.

I'd much rather he help on the big guy.  This way he can be there when we make sure that he is good and dead.

The scene where you pose as Grim and listen to the two soldiers.

That's what I thought Hawke meant but it could have been worded better, in my opinion.
