I hope that they return to the techno music heard in Mass Effect 1 over the orchestra music in Mass Effect 2 and 3. I think it just went really well with the overall atmosphere of the world. Does anyone else prefer techno music over orchestra music?

For those who are still unconvinced, here are some of the examples of Techno music in Mass Effect 1.

Ehhh... No. I'm not a fan. Orchestral stuff gets me more in the feels than Techno.

I loooooved ME1's soundtrack, I think it is easily the best in the series. But as ME progressed it became more and more modern sci-fi/military sci-fi, so the old-school synth music might not be fitting. I really liked what ME3 did with tracks like Mars and Rannoch, they were a bit of a mix of ME1's techno and ME2's loud orchestral sounds. That's something I'd be down for in MEA.

I just hope Bioware doesn't focus on bringing in a big name like Clint Mansell. His stuff was nice in ME3 but it didn't sound anything like the other tracks.

I think some version of Vigil and Uncharted Worlds should return, at the very least.

Sorry but Im not really a big fan of the ME1 music. It doesn't bother me though so I couldn't care less about it's inclusion in ME:A, but I just liked the overal ME 2 and 3 soundtracks a bit more. The Suicide Mission OST as an example really got you pumped up for the mission because of it's sheer epicness. Another example is the initial soundtrack when you enter the Collector Ship, those eerie tones which give you the goosebumps. I kinda miss music which really can give a strong emotional reaction in ME1. Like I said in another topic, I finished it again last week but I completely forgot literally every soundtrack of the game already whilst soundtracks like the ones I named above and tracks like 'I'm Proud of You and Leaving Earth' are still stuck in my head after months of not playing 2 and 3. This of course has to do with personal preference so I understand why other people would want a return of the ME1 soundtracks. Im not really feeling anything for it though.

The only music I liked from ME1 is from Noveria. Other than that I felt it was somewhat annoying; I especially didn't like the Citadel music.

From the Wreckage is probably the only track from the original Mass Effect that i like and still listen to. Mass Effect 2 has the best soundtrack, with Suicide Mission as the best track.

Personally I have always thought of Virgil as Shepard's theme and the story of his struggle against the Reapers. I hope it doesn't return in Andromeda.

Uncharted Worlds, on the other hand, I would like to see considering ME A will be an exploration based game, and that song would fit in really well as you are exploring an uncharted galaxy.

To each his own I suppose. The music in ME2 and ME3 is great, and I listen to them from time to time due to the sheer power the songs project.

ME1's music isn't as powerful, and is a lot harder to enjoy when you are listening to it on your phone, for example. ME1's music can most of the time only be throroughly enjoyed when playing the game itself, as it seems to go hand in hand with the atmosphere of the game. When you are exploring Port Hanshan on Noveria with that music playing in the background, it really makes the world feel more real.

Noveria song. My favorite part in Mass Effect. Loved the athmosphere and the architecture also in the business venue.
However, I DO like the orchestral music also so why just don't mix those?

BTW. I am such a fan of this series. almost had a tear in my eye listening that song after a very long brake.

ME1 have the most memorable themes and they are great. We will probably see Vigil's theme and Uncharted Worlds in Andromeda.

ME2 soundtrack is forgettable. The only track i remember is from the Suicide Mission and it's pretty good.

ME3 is one of the best OST's ever! Reaper Chase, Stand Strong Stand Together and the list goes on...

Uncharted Worlds is easily the one song that I want to see from the trilogy in Andromeda, it'd feel kind of weird to explore the galaxy without it.

If we are talking about musical style? Yes.

In regards to Mass Effect 1's ost, and the entire trilogy for that matter, only 4 tracks should return:

  • Mass Effect Theme
  • Vigil
  • Saren's theme (as the death music again)
  • Galaxy Map Theme

Thats it, the death and galaxy map tracks for obvious iconic reasons. The mass effect theme is the franchise theme, and vigil is such an iconic ME track that it cant be left out. Aside from those few tracks, keep everything fresh. Theyre the only ones that matter.

I am a HUGE fan of the soundtracks from all 3 games. I really did enjoy the techno theme that they had for ME1, but I loved the epic feel of ME2, so I would be happy with a combination of the two. Maybe a little more on ME1 since they are going back to the exploration feel and a lot of that soundtrack (ME1) reflected that. OR they could have a maybe add a little rock in the mix. Kinda got hooked a rock cover this guy did on youtube of the Mass effect soundtrack. Link below if anyone wants to listen. But back on topic, Just bring back Jack Wall PLEASE!!!!!!

There's not nearly enough hiphop/country/western/classical/rock music in space. I genuinely want to hear something different maybe have a rapping Asari.

Knowing HighOWhere we'll get a wigga Volus or something. It would be nice to be able to load my own music. Rather than having to turn down audio.

Vigil or a remixed adaptation and the Galaxy Map Theme from either ME1 or ME2 is fine.

I was not a big fan of ME1's soundtrack and preferred ME2 and ME3 over it by a wide margin.

I think techno music is generally garbage, but there are exceptions. For me, almost all of the memorable tracks in ME came after ME1. The unreleased Virmire battle track was good, and the Vigil theme was good, but that was about it. I think ME2s DLCs had far better music (and not necessarily purely orchestral) and ME3 had a better track overall. In fact, I think ME2 had the best and most distinctive music of the series.

If you guys like Suicide Mission so much, here's two remixes I've made. You can listen to them by clicking the PLAY button, or download them by clicking the big orange DOWNLOAD NOW button on the far right.

Suicide Mission (Omega-4 Supermix) (combined all the track pieces from the entire ME2 in-game music into one huge 15-minute monster mix)

Suicide Mission (FamilyJules7X Rock Remix) (combined FamilyJules' rock re-recording with the isolated orchestra from the in-game mixes. The result is smoking hot!!!)

"generic and forgettable"

Lolwat. Suicide Mission, The Illusive Man, Normandy Reborn, Leaving Earth, A Future for the Krogan, We Face our Enemy Together, I'm Proud of You, An End Once and for All.

Those are just my favourites from ME2+3 (excluding DLC tracks). Yeah, ME1's music is awesome but ME2+3 had much more memorable tracks than ME1 (bar Vigil and the ME theme).

Not a one of those is memorable to me. I literally cannot remember any of them.
