This is gravity defense mod, a mod where you hold an enemy spawn point from a wave of very angry enemies. You use gravity to fly clients (or they just teleport) into a spawn point (in this video, goddess' top ring) and enemy will charge you and attempt to either knock you down or overrun you. All enemies behave berserk so they will attack at maximum speed. Banshee's will blow your mind as they jump huge distances behind you anywhere they please.

You know, I always wanted to see what it was like in some of these spaces enemies have access too. Especially the one on Ghost. always wanted to see what it was like there and always wished I could charge up there as a Vanguard (back in the day, of course, before console commands).

Man, I forgot how good games look in full hd and 60 fps after all this time on the potatostation 3. Does Me3 support 2k visuals and up?

Going from 60fps to potato frames is exactly like playing drunk. Takes me a game or two to get slightly adjusted to potato frames (as I bounce back and forth), but on some maps, like Goddess, it's always a nightmare. Really upsetting because I really love Goddess. I also notice really fast kits, like Hunter Mode/Fury speeds, seem to greatly add to frame loss. Especially Fury because that AF smoke seems to cost extra potato processing power.

Yeah true, I love the old potato as I have a lot of memories on it but it's time I found a back up before it died on me!

Also I have to ask you as to which controller you prefer while on pc? I decided I'm gonna buy a controller as I might be getting Dark Souls 3 on pc and I'm kinda undecided as to whether or not I should just stick with the old ps3 ones or maybe upgrade to the new DS4 controllers. How about the xbox controllers, is the xbone pad worth it over the 360? Also are the dualshocks better than the xbox controllers?

Btw on topic, great mod as always :wizard:

Xbox 360 controller. I can't play souls games without my Xbox controller.

I tried this mod on solo Platinum, This was the hardest play through I had, They were every where up there. I ran out of ammo and died up there because a Banshee jumped up and grabbed me. I got rid of that quick.

Yeah I used the mouse and key set up while I was doing my solo playthrough of DS1 on pc and I'm not going anywhere near them again! I've heard that 360 pad is great, also they have official support in pc. But i don't like the trigger R2 buttons on the 360, it feels weird to me and the analog stick seems to be in the wrong place   But that's probably a usage issue. Have you tried the playstation controllers btw?

Agh, never have. I always feel I'd lose my grip when using one. After playing on the 360 for so long I remember going to my friends house and on his Playstation that controller felt like it was empty and was light as a feather. I feel like I'd drop it and then I'll get a "YOU DIED" screen which will cause me to rage, thus why I avoid them.

Especially if I expect to fight someone like that Fume Knight ****** in your profile picture where I intend to dodge-roll repeatedly.

I've never had an issue with the 360 controller. Except for if the d-pad is loose, never use it. You'll think you're pressing the left of the pad when you're really pressing the bottom...had to use that for awhile, very annoying.

Oh haha yeah I'm used to the ps3 controller so it feels the right weight for me. I hear the new ps4 controllers are even lighter! I did like the grip and the hold of the 360 though, it does feel really ergonomic even more so than the ps3 one. But the new dualshock 4s have a more revamped design as well so there's that!

Speaking of profile pictures, ain't no one more hardcore than mothafuckin Havel  . Killed me soo many times in Dark souls and was a horror when I first started pvp in Ds2.

I mean I got used to it and ended up being fine with it. It was just a HUGE transition. Then going back to my 360 controller and feeling my palms full again...god it was so weird.

Hehe, trust me, I know. The first timed I played DS I made the mistake of getting the Master Key and the minute I went down the stairs...SLAP! got one shotted by Havel the Monster.

Don't even get me started on the Havels I encounter in pvp...Havel Jesters, Rapier-Havels...there's so many different Havel combinations it's a nightmare.

Which is why I love Havel and his set. I wonder if DS3 will have his set or maybe it's own version of his armor.

I loved tanking those puny sorcerers.

Ha yeah I did the same thing and died soo many times myself. Eventually I backstabbed him to death though. Also the Havel mages and the Havel-Avelyns or the Havelyns were truly a nightmare! All these encounters made me hate the old bishop and his armor with a vengence. Now that I'm much better, I enjoy it when you beat those havel smelters with a naked ugs setup

Same, Drake Sword + constant backstab = Havel's Ring!

I'm so happy they nerfed the Havelyns. That thing was absolutely ridiculous and unbalanced.

Heh, you mean the Anus faced Havels? God those things look so stupid, I know that it gives you the highest defense in the game, but seriously...you look dumb.

I was like that when I played for the first time. I always thought since I was a literal tank with a lot of defense, nothing could kill me.

Darkroot Garden and the Iron Keep taught me that I was wrong.

Haha exactly, I used the drake sword myself the first time but switched to a claymore after i understood the game better. Brings back all those memories!

I mostly just stuck to fashion in dark souls 2 though as I had my experiences from the older game and I preferred a lighter character. The first pvp matches were mostly getting my ass kicked but I became pretty decent afterwards. But it was half way through when I started using ultra greatswords that I became a lot better. Those things are hard to use, no joke and I've had my spine rearranged on a lot of occasions but your mind games become really good when you become better with ultra heavy weapons. Some of the best fights I've had have been with heavy weapons, it's that good!

I know right. Hell I remember in my first playthrough I still used the Knight Shield when fighting Kalameet...I was such a scrub.

I can never use those heavy weapons. If I do, I always seem to get parried or backstabbed and then the PvPer will try and exploit it. I love me some Halberds though. Black Knight Halberd was my go-to weapon in DS1 and I used it all the time.

I liked the twin-blades in DS2, was always fun stun-locking someone with the Red Iron Twinblade. I prefer long reach weapons like those and spears.

They grew onto me because it always meant that the enemy would have to get close, easy way to take out those annoying ballerinas (people who ALWAYS backstep and turn around and then attack you.)

Now I miss Dark Souls. I've been playing the Mass Effect trilogy dry. When I finish I'm definitely going to get back into it...

Yeah true, in my first fight with a heavy weapon, I got backstabbed 4 times back to back to death. Doesn't get worse than that! But i kinda stuck with it and eventually I got much better. In fact I ranked up in the Blood arena mostly with the ivory king UGS. Also two handing it makes you unparriable as well.

I love twinblades too, back when I started, the dragonrider's twinblade was my top weapon and I eventually stopped using it as it was getting too easy. Never used halberds much but I am wary of anyone using the roaring halberd due to its damage. Also greatsword duels are really fun too. It's always fun to get back into these games, same with mass effect in that they never get boring! Praise the sun!

I love big weapons but I always had that fear of getting parried by a tiny little buckler. I forgot some weapons are can't be parried. See what I mean? I really gotta get back into souls, it feels like it's been forever. Last time I played it was still very active. I remember even getting some nice little hatemail.

I have yet to completely beat the entire game of DS2...there's something I should do when I'm done with Mass Effect.

:P

360 Controller for it's superior analog sticks and is much more ergonomic/comfortable then the Sony ones. But the wired black coloured 360 gamepad have terrible D-Pad for 2D games. So get the white coloured one if you want to play games that use the D-Pad (otherwise for hotkeys it's fine). The drivers for the wired 360 gamepads install on their own too.]

And if you want to play ME3mp with Mgamerz controller mod, it even installs the drivers for the mic that gets plugged into the 360 controller too. So I have one wireless bluetooth turtle beach 4 speaker headset and bluetooth mic that works for PS3, 360 and PC. Why I choose this particular Turtle Beach headset instead of having to buy 2 more.

PS - DS4 is more ergonomic and has better analog sticks then the DS3. Why bought the DS4 already even though I don't have a PS4 yet. As I now use it for PS3 gaming. Just have to use two hairbands to keep the wired connection stable, as it didn't sit snug at all.

Yeah, I noticed that when I plugged in my controller to my PC. The drivers got installed automatically and I was good to go.

I prefer the beefy 360 controllers. Haven't played any other games on the PC so I have no clue how it allocates to any other games.

I've never met a PC gamer uses a Playstation controller. Either a keyboard and mouse, Xbox controller, or that weird steam controller.

On the other hand...boy did this topic get off-topic quickly.

Never too bad to discuss some souls anyways.
