Funny, I don't want anything in MEA to be like DAI.
I hope MEA' maps won't be like DAI

While I did think driving was fun in ME, I preferred to approach encounters on foot, so unless I was forced to use the Mako, I tended to walk. The sparseness of the maps likely won't matter as much since long, empty distances can be covered more quickly by the Mako. At its worst, exploration is as fun as the traversal mechanics allow, so as long as driving is fun, ME:A won't be such a chore.
Ilos, in particular, was more enjoyable on foot. Feros, as well.
Those "random" encounters (which weren't random) make up the bulk of the game's combat. Excluding them is disingenuous. How? Other than random encounters, most combat took place inside of linear dungeons or walled encampments.
That we can initiate combat in DAI is a massive improvement over DA2. That we can attack at extreme range even more so.
To me, DAI's combat played a lot like the outdoor combat on the uncharted worlds in ME1. And that was the very best combat content so far in the ME series.
It strongly rewarded crowd control and range management.Even if that wasn't the case, it's not as if DA:I's combat heavily rewards good positioning or attack vectors.

Should use a new system that is simple and easy to control during gameplay.

They look great and are atmospheric, but the quests and characters populating them are usually uninteresting. Also after awhile it gets a bit boring to spend the majority of a game starting at trees and mountains and deserts, no matter how beautifully they are rendered.
It's the characters that make a Bioware game interesting, and you're probably not going to be running into too many interesting side characters on an uninhabited moon.
What is your point?
I stated my honest OPINION.
It was not a fact or intended to be a fact,
Oh I know! It's because I think DA:I is an awesome game and I got and I'm still getting a lot more enjoyment out it than everybody's current favorite action open world RPG Fallout 4 and I think that BioWare is still much better than everybody's new favorite company Project CD Red currently is, and as it stands right now in my honest opinion, ever will be.
I think that DA:I was and still is much better and fun game than the everybody's current favorite action open world RPG darlings The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 are and every will be and that must mean that I'm *gasp* a BioWare fanboy! Oh the horror! Oh the humanity! /sarcasm]
Yeah I love DA:I and all BioWare games that I've played in fact yet me go on record here and now and once and for all: I HAVE YET TO PLAY A BIOWARE GAME THAT I DID NOT LIKE! Now does DA:I have it's faults? Yeah, all BW games do. And if the above statement that makes me a fanboy then I'm a fanboy, at least I'm a honest fanboy. But here is the thing: what I might I have problems with might be the things you like and vice versa, and in the end it's all subjective and a matter of personal taste. And to quote Sera from DA:I: "I DON'T CARE!" If you or anyone agrees with me or not or if they like me or not. When I give my opinion I have and will always give you and everybody else here my HONEST opinions and I don't give a rat's ass if they're popular or not. As I've stated on many other message boards I would rather be hated for being honest than being loved as a liar just to be popular and get along with the popular and the so-called "cool people".
In my honest opinion Fallout 4 is a lot of fun but it gets real boring after a while and it's sidequests are more annoying and stupid than anything in DA:I. I would rather search for the shards than go kill raiders for some farmer for the zillionth time.I liked it but after finishing the main quest I'm pretty much done with it for a while.
In my honest opinion since I didn't enjoy The Witcher 2 at all on Xbox 360, so I already have little interest in buying it's an over-hyped sequel and from I have seen in any of the hundreds of videos on youtube about The Witcher 3 nothing about has made me want to make me to go out and waste $60 on the damn thing and there is no amount of raving by it's fans, the constant touting on how well it sold, all of the critical acclaim it's gotten, or the number of GOTY awards it gotten is still NOT going to make me buy it or hop on it's over-hype train, It's not my cup of tea. DEAL WITH IT!
In my HONEST OPINION:DA:I was and still is an awesome game. I've done at least 15 playthroughs on 3 different platforms (Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PS3).Since I'm getting a PS4 hopefully in the next few months you bet your ass that Dragon Age: inquisition-The Game of the Year edition will be one of, if not THE first game that will played on it followed by Transformers: Devastation, Life is Strange: Season One, Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, and yeah Fallout 4.
People here need to stop thinking that they're way of playing is the only way to play a game or what they like or don't like is the same for everyone. It would make a much nicer, enlighten, and smarter online gaming community, and Lord knows we need one of those.

in general I feel -- maybe it's just this generation but... -- games as a whole have become about as subjective as music or movies. It may just be me growing up and not believing everything I hear but I felt in earlier generations there was always that clear technical leap some games had over others and it felt like moving forward games just kept getting better and better because their content widened as did their ability to conceive stories and such, like Zelda OoT was such a big leap over anything else back then, I felt, but with this gen it's like we're finally unable to keep pushing the limit because Manpower is the real limit or it's because the technical leap from last to current gen simply isn't big enough to be substantial.

Cinematic cutscenes please.. I didn't think we would ever need to ask for something like this. It should be a staple for all Bioware games, shouldn't have been removed in DAI tbh.

Realistically, what kind of planets are you hoping to touchdown on?
What's likely going to happen in the end is a lot of sparse, creature-ridden areas, considering our job is to literally chart uncharted territory and set up colonies.
I think the problem that Andromeda will have is that a lot of this setup is detached from the main story, much like most of the side-quests were detached from the main story in Inquisition. There is nothing wrong with that, but for the majority it is a problem due to presentation or desire for something more, something more tangible in terms of "world-altering consequences."
Ironic enough, it's the type of thing I personally hate, it's the epitome of RPG cliches, but it works wonders for a lot of people.

What about like TW3's?
So...full of question marks marking not much of any interest? I actually still think TW2's design was better suited to The Witcher and its storytelling....
While it is a little bit better than DAI I am just not impressed with Open Wold approaches to story-heavy RPGS in general. TW3 would have been better off without it, just as DAI would have profited immensly if they had stuck to a more linear approach, smaller maps, with more to do and more scripted things to experience...
And I am dreading that MEA will have huge maps for the Mako to make sense to use but..have it filled with boring UBIsoft-stuff to do like in Assassins Creed and Farcry...which means they will advertise the game with "80 hours of fun to complete it" - while the main quest without the boring filler-stuff is merely ten hours or so ^^
Should change my username to Cassandra ...(the classical, not the DAI one)

Fog of war did not inspire atmosphere or exploration. For me it just meant I had another task to do and made exploring a chore since I'd have to unclear the fog of war by going to every little corner making it annoying. I mean what is the overall purpose? We have the place already scouted.
Hmmmmm, I see your point but I have an impression that fog did not make sense in TW3 because Geralt was a traveler - familiar with all places - while the Inquisitor was not really. Tho I guess that if Inquis had scouts, a basic map should be ready. I agree with you that it could be more interesting, animated and eye-catching
! Hopefully Bio will notice players' feedback.

Where the frack did this come from? Where did Han Shot First's response assume that their opinion was fact or that anyone who enjoys DAI is wrong or a fanboy? This seems more like a rant you've been waiting to unleash for a while.
It's also disingenuous to say you're getting more enjoyment from DAI than TW3 because that suggests that you have both games and have enjoyed DAI more. But then you say that you're not going to buy TW3. Fair enough, no ones making you buy it. but that's like me arguing I get more enjoyment from a Hyundai Accent than a Honda Accord...but I only own the Accent.
Though I would say, liking every Bioware game made doesn't make you a fanboy; buying the same game for four systems makes you a fanboy.
