What is his endgame and does he even have an endgame because i can't remember why he joined in the first place but maybe i over looked something he sometimes annoys me but most of the times i like him

He's the spirit of compassion. It's his nature. He has no personal gain from it other than that. So, yeah, I think he really just wants to help people.

I love it, too! I noticed one thing. I played through it about two times and this cutscene started differently each time. In one, Cassandra starts by yelling angrily, in the other she's rather calm and composed. Any idea what causes the difference? (I offered alliance to the templars both times.)

There is also the scene upon arrival to Skyhold, in which Cole says something about the thoughts of the suffering being "loud". Quizzy can ask wouldn't Cole prefer to be somewhere quieter. Cole will answer: "Yes. But this is where I can help"

I wonder if I would ask the same question if some user with the name 'Ridley' shows up.

 

But yes, nice to meet you too.  Its funny I do toy with the fact of either changing my name to Foley or adopting it as a pen name.

@caradoc2000 i cannot recall that scene but i started a new character yesterday so i will check it out

Careful: I believe that scene only shows up if you recruit the mages.  I could be wrong.

I always found Cole to be an oddly shoe-horned book character as far as this game was concerned. I never bothered to read any of the DA books and relied primarily on wiki pages and the in-game codex to keep pace. So when Cole started babbling about his friends and killing the leader of the Seekers I was completely lost and just wanted to hit a button to say "please start over from the beginning please. "

I never bothered to read any of the DA books and relied primarily on wiki pages and the in-game codex to keep pace. Yeah, he just wants to help.  Man Cole is such a remarkable use of a character for Narrative purposes, I really can not give Bioware enough praise for his creation. Not only is he just interesting because of "what" he is making the world of spirits and demons feel far bigger than it ever has in the past, but on top of just being a well written character Cole allows the writers/developers the ability to give information (often cryptic) to the players that they normally would not be privy too.

 

If it weren't for the fact that I almost always want to have the Bull+Dorian romance show up (and the fact that I do really like Sera and Verric) Cole would never leave my party!  He has so much good party banter!

I just have always enjoyed the name.  Most bad ass last name in history.

He is a demon who "helps" people by using blood magic to get into a person´s minds, make them forget anything he wants, probably causing them brain damage too. If the victim resists him or his magic won´t work like he expected, then he just murder knife you "for your own good". He does that plenty of times in Asunder and in Inquisition too - unless your Inquisitor is right there to stop him.

 

Why he does this? To make himself feel alive, instead of possessing he goes around messing with people´s minds, thinking he knows what is best for everyone - even death. Go back to the void, demon.
