Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Me1-3 100% "(space)murrica fuque yeah" mode?
Where do you go from there for MEA?

Post-Tuchanka during the scene with Joker. He really was laughing at you.
ah.... yes, I see the scene, but no disdain in his voice... hum, but another fact to know about my game : I'm playing in french so maybe the voice actor plays it a bit differently in my country (oh dear, that voice he has... I love it more than the original voice
).
Thanks, I will try to watch the scene in english to see if there's a big difference.
I thought Ashley merely dislike humanity playing nice with the aliens because everyone was mean to her family and branded her as an alien sympathizer for decades. I get that she's bitter because of that but she never wanted humans to dominate the galaxy and kill everyone.
Not sure why people don't hear the sneer and disdain in Garrus' voice when he would commit genocide against the Krogan This one guy would happily kill off an entire race because of his prejudice... that isn't racism? If that so, why can't I easily kill him in ME3 as well?
Don't forget Wrex with the Rachni, or really anyone that doesn't immediately agree with his views on the Genophage. ![]()
As for Ashley being 'racist' I don't agree with that sentiment. Sure she wasn't as "PC" as everyone else, but nothing she said or did was out of an underlying hatred of other alien species. She was ignorant of a lot of things, but that would stem from her having never been to the Citadel and more than likely having never really seen other aliens; outside of maybe the occasional Turian; especially the more exotic ones like the Hanar and Elcor.
The whole "I can't tell the people apart from the pets" (or something along those lines) was uncouth granted, but it wasn't her ascribing the other species as being non-sentient and/or lower forms of life; she legitimately couldn't tell the difference. The whole ignorant country bumpkin arriving in the big city troupe. As for the whole hunting dog vs. bear analogy, she was talking about how when the chips were down everyone was going to be looking out for themselves; which is proven resoundingly true in ME 3, when everyone initially tries to deal with the Reapers on their own instead of working together.
Really, ME 1 Ashley had way more depth of character than most people want to ascribe to her. Its sad that people will generally look at her character and see that she doesn't quite match up to socially acceptable standards, and immediately assume "Space racist".
Seriously, if you want to know who the most racist and hypocritical character in the ME series is, look no further than Wrex.
The thing is, aliens are like us on many ways : they like and dislike things and people. That doesn't mean they're racists or anything, they just have different points of view. Not the end of the world, this is why I love a paragon shepard, always try to reunite people together. It's maybe an utopia but I always try to think people can change if they learn and try to understand each others (Ashley for example is more open mind on ME3 if I remember correctly).
When I see the news on my TV, I often think we seriously need a Shepard IRL ![]()
Sorry, which military exactly? I hope it is British, because then we can stop for tea at regular intervals, as any civilised nation should in-between invading foreign countries (which we have at least heard of and can pinpoint on a map, which is something).

Also means you get to announce the entire annihilation of a regiment with little more than a raised eyebrow and a terse 'Bugger'.
Although my favourite thing will be things such as taking bagpipes into battle, or a longbow and claymore, or if you run out of ammunition resorting to throwing tins of beans to defend yourself.
I equally can never take the 'humans are boring' sentiment seriously either.
I can agree that "humans aren't boring" in the sense that we can be shown to have a diverse range of opinions, cultures, and skill sets. But I do find the fact that 99.9% of all the other species out there being exactly like us, save for a few cosmetic differences, to be boring. Talking about our feelings and who we find attractive, etc is all well and good, but why does everyone have to be like that? Why can't we see more 'alien' aliens, this being a science fiction setting and all?
To use a broad MMO rarity rating system, humans, and human-like aliens are the White Common items. Sure, we're capable, and we get the job done, but we're all rather bland when compared to the Purple Legendary, or Yellow Exotic items out there. Aliens like the Thorian, or the Rachni, or the ME 2 version of the Geth. Different. Unique. Alien.

...Why wouldn't it be modeled after the world's only military, economic and political superpower?
The United States is where its at for all things...besides culture and Gundam, but those two things stem from two separate corners of the world, ah well I can go back to Oslo for culture and Tokyo for Gundam.

I talked with some British soldiers when I was in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. I even exchanged one of my uniforms with one of them. The bdu's he exchanged look nothing like what is seen in the image.
Even traded couple MRE's with a few Canadian's. I like their MRE's.
There's a good chance we're with a military.

My guess? Look at the patch on the left, they were part of the UN Task force thrown together back in 01 for Iraq, I'd imagine they were issued top shelf gear from all sourcing countries, you know back when the war on terror actually had support and it could be won...
That said it could also be faked for all I know, I do know though that BDU looks very little like any I've ever seen besides its camo pattern. It looks heavy, multi layered garbage, inefficient. That said I don't make a study of foreign militaries, not in any detail anyway, I look at their arms and usually go little further.
Who says humour doesn't translate eh.

When I saw those soldiers, not the ones in the image, it was in 1991. You know back when the Gulf War was happening?

I get to know her better in one of the later conversation where she talks about how humanity have to be strong and how she's entitled to be strong as well. I start to understand that she wasn't speaking about the aliens at all or have pro-human ideals but everything is about her grandfather. She thought her grandfather was weak to surrender to the Turians during Shanxi occupation and somehow proving herself to the galaxy would return the honor back to her family... which she did either way if she was sacrificed or survived on Virmire.
Honestly, I don't find her mentioning that she can't differentiate aliens and animals as offensive. This is before I found out that the developer intended for it to be a reference to the Keepers. So what if she is ignorant? She said it herself, she never got around the galaxy and meet with strange aliens that look like jellyfishes or giant spiders. But I think this is rooted to the fact that Ashley was particularly very b*tchy toward Liara in ME1.
I really could understand Wrex's bitterness. There's no speculation of his actual age but it was hinted that he actually lived through the Krogan rebellion (which is a three century long war) and the genophage of his people. He was probably more than a thousand years old (give or take a couple of century). In that aspect, I can understand why he would hold grudge and be ruthless as well and unsympathetic especially toward the Salarians and the Turians. Neither the races are forgiving or even shame that they're reduced to killing babies to win wars.
Wrex was a proud Krogan warlord who was betrayed and being exiled by his own people and reduced to being a common merc for centuries. I like that meeting Shepard somehow give him a reason to hope and to take up the impossible and unite his people. I like that I have to prove myself to be worthy of his trust, the same as with VS. I hated how he sounded utterly betrayed when he confront you if you sabotage the cure.

Forum veteran.... former forum moderator. I know how to ride the thin red line. Plus the warning points don't include the old forums warnings and suspensions. There were 3 warnings and two suspensions there. ![]()
^Although I guess to be fair, there's nothing to justify her finishing him off when he's wounded.
Well other than its a Krogan, do you really want to give one of those guys a chance to get up. Nah, not really. LOL.
More civilian, less military.
I want to go full bandit.

Yeah, even I have more than that.
I can never tell if these sorts of suggestions are serious, because it's almost as if people want a Mass Effect game, but don't really want a Mass Effect game. Like we had someone asking for no biotics, and now no alien allies. The frak is this madness?
Well friend, I'm as serious as an heart attack. All my favorite characters were all human; Jack, Miranda, and Zaeed. Every alien squadmate had a whiny attitude or were dull and boring. The only exceptions were Garrus and Legion. The alian crew mates just didn't seem as though they fit on the Normandy. I would like a uniform crew; all of which seem as though they belong on an human military vessel.
Welcome to the
The irony of "Stringer Bell" liking this post lol.
It's ok buddy go let Avon Barksdale hold you and tell him where it hurts. It's ok cry into his arms and not act like a man....errrr G ![]()

Oh I like this game! It's also funner than bleeding hearts vs strong silent.
How many do you have? I'll believe you, you don't have to screencap it if you don't want.
