 If you didn't notice, Leliana's scouts were pretty useless through the length of the story. Only fitting they're useless on the war-table.

Yep, I had nothing better to use Cullen for, so I sent his men to hunt for some pelts... and the mighty forces brought me 3 nugskins! Such fierce warriors...

Sounds like they risk losing their breeches. I never use Leliana's scouts or anybody for what I can pick up on any main or side quest.

In her defense, she faithfully brings you several great bear hides every trip.  Best use for her, imho.

Yeah, that's useful. Leather's the only crafting mat I ever run short of since I don't go out of my way to hunt..

Really, elfroot's a terrible example, since you can't go anywhere without tripping over the stuff

Because Leliana's spys are the poor fools who were chosen to search for elfroot. Nearly no other resource exists in such abundance.

You could't stop finding any elfroot even if you actively tried to avoid it. It's in the fields, on the battlements, in your food, even in your soldiers undergarments. It's everywhere!

 

And yet the game only allows those poor sods to find about 4 in a ~half an hour wartable mission. I pity those fools...

Your compulsive need to see everything as an attack on your favorite character is nothing to be proud of either.

 

It's just a fun topic about the fact that the scouts are rather useless at picking flowers. It's not even about Leliana. It's about the scouts serving under her.

Fools? Probably the smartest of the lot ... I just envision it like a big middle finger on the Quizzy to use expert-spies and scouts to pick flowers ... bringing merely five is the same as saying "Look mylady, are you KIDDING us? We are NOT gardeners or herbalists! WE are spies and scouts and a WAR is raging! So here, have your precious elfroots and now USE us correctly!"

The collection war table missions wouldn't be so bad if you could schedule a bunch of them in one go. Their return per minute isn't too bad, It's the need to send them out every 10 minutes that makes them not worth the hassle.
