i strongly suspect his mother is a sicko and try to use magic to change her son's look to the way she wants instead of accepting who he is.

if not, how do you explain why he looks the same when his father could be:

1) a thin, frail, big eyes elf

2) an overweight, ugly and bushy dwarf

3) a tall dashing blond hair human

4) Alistair

5) and even freakishly old mother-f**king Loghain

He looks the way he does because any human in him cancels out any elf or dwarf in him, if I understand the lore correctly.

Or he could simply look more like his mother then he does his dad?

i think it is for elf but not dwarf

but still he could have retains the eyes, nose etc. even if not the pointy ears and short and stout statue.

dont forget that are literally millions of Warden that could mate with Morrigan.

No. Elf blooded Humans have no elfy appearance. And yeah your right about Dwarves though... He could be short for the rest of his life, though?

I can't remember for sure, I guess. I know he doesn't look like anyone in any of my games...not my male Wardens (who were all human) or Alistair.  :P

Not sure if serious....

Honestly only read thread because of huge grammatical error in thread title.

Could the elven parent still pass on minor traits like hair/eye color?

Which would have been a fine explanation and handwave... if he'd had black hair and yellow eyes, like his mother, grandmother and aunt.

I'm fine with him not looking like the Warden since their appearance is nebulous, but I can't fathom the reason (or fantasy genetics) behind why he was given brown hair and green eyes, since Morrigan's side of the family have a rather set bunch of traits to base him on.

(And yes, Flemeth's hair is grey now, but Morrigan alludes to her mother looking a lot like her in her youth, so her hair was presumably black as well)

Oh no, the child born of a dark magical ritual does not appear to take after any of the various possible fathers he could have had. Clearly this means that his mother performed some terrible deed after his birth to make him appear as he does. </sarcasm>

Flemeth genes trump all others.

Just be thankful he doesn't have scales.

There's a good mod somewhere where you can change his skin tone at least iirc, which makes it a bit more palatable say if you played a HoF who had very dark skin.

I think people are just trying to see too much into this,he looks the way he does because he was designed in this way, even if he could had 8 potential fathers they couldn't account similarity without giving to the player a dedicated CC for him and even then that would have raised more problems rather than being a solution.

Oh, you care for the father's appearance? I was wondering why the hell his eyes are green rather than golden, which is a predominant feature on his mother family.

Green? His eyes are dark brown.

I've tried asking Gaider about the strangd hair color but alas, he ignored me.

I know, right?  More ugly dwarf stereotyping!  Handsome dwarves (like that dashing fellow in my avi) ftw.....!

If he has had plastic surgery then let's sue... not the most attractive child IMO. Clearly the same surgeon that worked on Alistair and Zevran in DA2.

I think that if the elven traits are cancelled out by mating with a human, doing so could easily encompass cancelling out the elven hair/eye color. As Lynroy mentioned above, I think the kid is lucky to not have any apparent dragon traits.

It wouldn't have been economical to have a CC for a character who may or may not even exist in many playthoughs. Still, I do agree it would have made more sense to simply make Kieran a staff counterpart to Morrigan.

Except that in that case, the kid would most likely have Morrigan's hair and eye color. As was previously mentioned, he doesn't. He seems to be modeled after a Cousland, which doesn't make much sense in the playthroughs where he's not half-Cousland.
