I'm really not sure yet. Just know I disliked the one in ME3 the most. The vibe it gave me wasn't right all military like, too dark, the noises it made. Forget what else. Not sure which one I like more between 2 and 1. But the vibe a ship gives you is important. It's were romances happen.

And should it too come with upgrades? I don't know, maybe like a hot tub for extra romance scenes. Poker table for, er, gambling.

Considering that it'll be a completely different galaxy, the ship will have different needs to meet. As long as I don't see "SR-3" plastered all over it I'll be fine.

I can't really make any real guesses, since we don't know what the mission we will be on is about. Though part of me is worried, considering what the Mako's successor looks like.

Whatever they do, I would love if we could customize the ship. Being able to change the color and luminosity of the lights, the color scheme of the exterior or interior, or decorate the interior would be really cool.

The sr1 had that buggy elevator.  The sr2 alliance edition had a sticky floor near Joker.  Surely they can make a better ship this time around.

I would love a normandyish looking ship, both practical upgrades and luxury upgrades must exist however. NO COMPROMISE!!! I have spoken!!

I could care less if instead of Sr-3 it read "********" so long as I get muh upgrades. I do though want it to be spacious & interactive as I want to check my email, take a shower to wash all the blood & guts off me and my armor. To drink casually at the bar or to go to my cabin and bust out the hard stuff becoming a borderline alcoholic because I couldn't save a kid who may or may not have been real. I want to be able to play poker with my crew whenever and take their money, to space walk around the ship for epic sunrises on random planets. I want a decent amount of interactivity with the ship and crew. Mostly upgrades doe.

According to what we saw on the short trailer, I think the ship will be a massive one, like the citadel, some kind of big arch for all species. I imagine we will find many news things inside, maybe a "city"  with whatever we need... Not sure we will be able to customize this one, but I also think we will be able to use a  smaller ship to travel faster ! This one, I have no idea what it will look like ! I loved the Normandy's design, it's was... aerodynamic :P I just hope it will also be possibe to customize this little one, like the Mako... I'm so glad the mako is back, I just hated the hammerhead !

I always figured that the reason the Normandy SR1 and the Alliance refitted SR2 were so dark was because it's supposed to be a stealth ship and the Alliance decided to remove any superfluous lighting to reduce the power costs.

Cause if the ship isn't wasting power on non-essentials, that means they don't have as big an energy signature to hide and so the heat sinks aren't being taxed as much, so they can remain hidden in stealth for longer periods of time.

I love the SR2 before the Alliance stole it. I'd have no problem if we ended up with some further future interation of that sort of design of stealth ship.

So is the ship going to be called the Shephard?

I loved the post-retrofit SR-2 the best and I'm gonna miss that ship in Andromeda.

I think the ship needs to be bigger...much more like a hub such as the citadel. Make it like a city in space, similar to how a cruise ship is like a city at sea. Have stores, restaurants, entertainment etc. instead of being a purely military ship. If it is like an Ark then it should be full of people and aliens, women and children too that are not connected to the military division on board.

Obviously we would be playing the captain of this division (not necessarily the commander of the ship) and our role would be to investigate habitable worlds and report on whether it would be suitable for the civilian life on board. Then something happens that threatens not just our characters lives but the lives of everyone on board the Ark.

I'd like a smaller ship than previous games which we use to jouney out from the Ark from rather than just messing about on our own.

She'd be look fast and aggressive. Like, TIE Interceptor school of design. Ideally there'd be a shark's mouth decal and we'd actually get to call in close air support during missions.

Personally i hope there's an ark ship(something akin to what you describe) which would play the role similar to the citadel and a personal ship more akin to the Normandy.

I believe the OP is talking about our protagonist's personal ship, not the main ship. We know what the main ship looks like.

I'm just hoping it isn't as dark as the ME1 and ME3 versions of the Normandy.  Say what you like about Cerberus but they made a good looking interior.

I'd guess it's be an iconic design, probably smaller and nippier as the squad's sleeping quarters would be on the ark.

And a little more privacy in the toilets, that bugs the crap outta me.

So is the ship going to be called the Shephard?

OMG yes.

It was going to be the SSV Shepard's Motherlovin' Pimp-Hand... but the Alliance felt that was just too long.

I'd like it to be something that every time I see it I would want to fly it.

I wouldn't mind it being smaller than the Normandy but say big enough for at least 7 people and a mako to get you into missions and out while going to and from that main ship shown at the last N7 day trailer. Also I prefer it to be a new design maybe something developed by all the council races not just humans and turians.

Though I'm sure Bioware will give us something great to fly.

I can see a frigate of the same caliber than the Normandy, but more geared toward exploration than the retrofitted space cabaret the Normandy ended up being in ME3, hopefully. Something more sober. She would be called Challenger

That would be acceptable, get drop-shuttle on steroids for missions while Pathfinder base of operations would be on Ark. Makes sense, considering that there will be not much space on Ark to bring big ships along.

I hated the Hammerhead but I despised the Mako. I think that the ME1 style of dropping the Mako from mid-air flight was terrible and unrealistic; how could the Mako use thrusters to slow down an air-drop but only be able to lift itself for 10 feet from the air when on the ground?

But answering OP, I think the protag's ship will be around the size of the SR-1, not as big as the SR-2 because if the ship will need to make supply drops to colonies that may be in many different kinds of terrain then the ship can't be too big unless it has some kind of drop-ship that the Mako will be dropped in.

I know right ? Mako had big flaws, but I have good memories of myself laughing so hard on my sofa while playing the game with the mako falling from a cliff *imagine Shepard Garrus and Wrex  INSIDE it vomitting on each others*

I also remember when I was stuck between 2 pieces of big rocks  ...

Aaaah~the mako.... :D

Yep, on Therum trying to get the Mako through to destroy the Geth. That always took me like 10 to 20 minutes to get through.
