I used to like both. Now if I had to pick one it'd be the drell, but it's not an interesting kit to play, especially on gold. If this game had more enemies on the map at a time the grenades might be more entertaining instead of trivializing.

Asari Vanguard is like a Drell Vanguard with training wheels, inflicts less damage but is more tanky. Once you get comfortable with the grenadier vanguard skill set, the Drell becomes king.
IMO, one of the absolute worst enemies in this game is Phantoms .. Stasis is quite handy in this regard. I normally skip 6B passive and take 3 points in Stasis
Charge -> shotgun to da face is quite handy as well ![]()
Works even on host.

While hosting games as public I begin to prefer the Drell.
Because as a rule of thump, all three PUGs joining your GIP will have Grenade consuming kids like AUI, Drug Addicted, etc....
As Drell you will reach the Ammo Box first.

I have no clue on how to play the Drellgod. The other Human Vanguards are my most used characters but don't know how to use this fella at all. Any non-shotgun builds that are viable on Gold?
I just can't seem to get on with him. Perhaps you could give me some pointers to help me play him more effectively.
This is my favorite class in the game and I can wreck stuff on Gold. But I'm not confident about it on Platinum.
Take the 50% chance to not trigger a cooldown on biotic charge and try Smashing things after you Charge into them. If it still lives, do a heavy melee. Of course you should know how to roll out of a Smash and other standard survival techniques. 3 points in Lash to deal with Guardians so you don't have to rely on armor piercing mods or ammo every time. And even unshielded enemies. Don't Lash them in a straight line. Point a little upwards when lashing them ... that'll send them flying away.
Hurricane or Talon or a shotgun of your choice should be good enough.

WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO USE A SHOTGUN ON HIM!?!?!!!!
Seriously. What have they done to your mind
But I guess if there really was a true, important and actual reason for not using a shotgun (like I guess being out of shotgun amps... Even tho I'd still use a shotgun even there.), then I'd say the best you could do is use a Talon. Because, well... It's basically a shotgun

Shotte gunnes! Nothing else for the Vanguards!!!
Well, a Hurricane does well for my Asari Vanguard, but I wouldn't put it on the Drell. Venom and Talon do very well for me.

Not really a shotgun fan in ME3. The only one-shot weapon I like is the Executioner and even then I can't use it for too long.
Since I got the Hurricane, I switched to it (from the Talon) on my caster classes.
Besides, Deerber, what do you do with the Claymore Drellgod? Shoot charge grenades? Or charge shoot grenades?

Oh, you'll learn to appreciate shotguns
Everyone does ![]()
As for the question, it depends on the situation. Besides, I actually prefer the Raider on him. But you can watch some top tier gameplay of the Claymore DrellGod here, if you haven't already seen it ![]()

Thanks, I'll check that and the one in your sig.
I suck at Cluster Grenades though. Need practice.

my favourite part is around 4:40 where the guy mentions typical drell thievery along with some........colourful language.
Only problem is he's talking about kill "stealing" instead of grenade stealing.

QFT.
As for the video, worth watching again even if you have seen it before, especially with QMR's helpful translation. The contrast in speed between the Drell and my favourite lumbering Krogan Sentinel may be immense, but they both worship in the same church, so it's all good. ![]()

Drell. I'm pretty bad with all Vanguards. But with the Drell's bad-a$$ duster and awesome roundhouse kicks, at least I'll go into Spectator Mode in style!

So I tried the Drellgod with a Claymore. Didn't spec into bonus headshot damage so that I could get BC force above 1000N. It's pretty effective with very low margin for error. Sometimes, I felt like I was kill stealing but I consoled myself by noticing how much ridiculous damage a shoot-charge-shoot combo actually does.

Although I still prefer the awesomeness of the Smashguys' heavy melee.

Glad you're liking it!
Be sure to always hide the reload of the Claymore, either into charge or the nades. And spam those clusters like it's going out of style
Also, there is no kill stealing in this game.

Power amps don't impact the force, only the damage. As for the 1000N treshold, it can be already reached with the 4b option in the passives.

Hell yeah, for now I just aim at those big targets that have minions milling around them. Once I get better, maybe I can even get accurate enough to bounce a lone Possessed Captain into the sky!

That's if you choose increased power/force rather than radius for BC, right? In the passives, I have wep dmg, power, and wep damag again.

No, look : http://kalence.drupa...3!311!411!!5..5
Drell have great passives, with a 15% boost to the damage and force of their powers with 4b.
