This is intended to be a casual place with an overdramatic sounding name. I plan to burrow myself in here when general forums become tiresome, and I encourage you to do the same if the prospect appeals.

If you'd like to introduce yourself, ask questions, or engage in general discussion, feel free to do so here.

Likewise, feel free to start your own topics. I'd be pleased if this group becomes moderately active, but I'm not counting on it. Also, if there's anyone else you'd like to invite to the group, just give me a head's up in PM.

Some people on the invite list had trouble actually accepting the invitation. If that happened to you, and you still want to join, send me a PM and we'll get it fixed.

Anyone know how I'm supposed to upload an image to the group main page?

I can't even figure out how to edit the center column.

Hello. If you're feeling lazy you can call me Biotic. I'm an IT student, and if I don't make much sense this week (or the previous one), it's because I just finished my exam session. My commenting level is nug - I still don't have enough patience to not engage trolls.

HuldraDancer, easily influenced, practices blood magic and lives away from civilization. I try not to bite and have gotten all my shots but you should still get it checked out if an accident happens. Currently recovering from minor surgery so at the moment unemployed which means I have all the time in the world to lurk. My social skills are poor at best so I apologize in advance for that.

Hi.

I'm Spork, and I- I have a problem. I like Bioware games.

Sigh.

Wow. You know, it feels good to get that off my chest.

I guess you could say I've been a fan for a long time. It all started sometime in the late 90s with a little thing called Baldur's Gate. Sure I dabbled in other things. I mean, I played other games. But there's nothing, I mean no thing, no game, that hits that sweet spot like a Bio game. Not for me. I'm hooked. I... I guess I always will be.

*ahem* Okay, not intended to mock anyone who may be battling some inner demons. I like humor, even if I'm not very good at it all the time. I'm just a blue collar guy who likes to play video games and have a laugh when I can. I appreciate creativity and I'm pretty easy to get along with.

I guess I'll go. My nicknames around here are most commonly Artifice or Arti. I live in Napa Valley, and--surprise--I work for a winery as a concierge and a "wine consultant." I also take classes at a local college, and I write poetry and fiction.

My obsessions and interests are varied and make for some strange combinations. I love books, video games, all kinds of music, film studies, dancing, fashion, art, animals, wine, cocktails, food/cooking, stand up/sketch comedy, and professional wrestling. I'm the biggest fan of The Twilight Zone in history. I also fence and I'm currently taking salsa classes.

I care about lots of things, including caring itself. I'm generally turned off by apathy, though if an apathetic person is also intelligent and/or funny, it's easy to make an exception.

I like romance stories. Also superhero stories, fantasy, sci-fi/space operas, fairy tales, fractured fairy tales, and horror--especially ghost stories.

Ok, here goes: aspiring writer, gardener, cook, potion-maker, illustrator of insects, dog and cat wrangler, linguist, reader, photographer. I live mostly in the world of dreams and words. I dance and sing when no one's around.

My favorite literary genres are foreign and historical mysteries, speculative fiction, twisted fairy tales, planetary exploration, zombies, dystopias, and nonfiction such as neuroscience and prehistoric European cultures, genetics, insects, etc.

I've been a gamer since I was a little girl, playing pen and paper D&D with my brother and making up our own games.

Hello all. I'm DomeWing. I live in the Northeastern United States. I studied cognitive neuroscience in college, but am currently working in human resources. I enjoy humor, philosophy (ethics in particular), analyzing fiction, and strategic/action-y video games.

Some things I'm currently into outside of Bioware games are, in no particular order: Daredevil, Rick & Morty, Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, Louis CK, Dark Souls/Bloodborne, various online Abridged series, Plants vs Zombies, Gintama (anime), Mafia (party game), and Pokemon (via online simulator).

Gotta say, I would not have called that. Now I'm imagining a Josephine-esque scenario where you invite your coworkers out to a "small entertainment" and it smash-cuts to their horrified expressions as a semi-nude 300-lbs man is knocked off the top rope with a steel chair.

That's why I finished the list with it. It's probably the most surprising of my interests. Though, when you consider that WWE is basically a theatrical soap opera with high energy music, pyrotechnics, and people with iconic, superheroesque images who perform gymnastic feats while people make silly commentary, it might make more sense.

I guess i should detail my interests more a bit.

Mainly interested in history, fantasy, and video games, science, sci-fi, and so on as well.  I've been on digs and helped a professor write a book so I'm getting some field experience, dunno what I'll do with it though.

I'm also interested in table top gaming, strategy games (particularly RTS's), and I do HEMA as well (historic European martial arts, ie longsword fighting).  I don't read as much as I'd like to but I do like it.  Been reading a lot on the Middle East recently, particularly around the change to Islamic culture from Antiquity.  If anyone has recommendations for fantasy/history though I'm open.

Besides that I'm a bit of a food and soda junkie, I like classic movies and sh*tty documentaries (ie conspiracy ones, aliens, real life myth searching, and whatnot)

Thank you for the invite! I was only able to finish Trespasser recently so I stayed away for a while. I just came back a couple days ago to check out the forums. Didn't expect such a warm welcome.  ^_^

God, I haven't watch wrestling since I was a teenager. I think I left around the time "The Miz" became a thing...

I was hoping you'd wend your way back here. A lot of DA fans have quite abandoned the place now that there won't be any new content for a while. How did you like Trespasser?

 How did you like Trespasser?

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I guess there were several patches in between my break and my Trespasser playthrough since things were pretty different when I got back. The added difficulty of the trials were nice and some of the new skill upgrades were really useful. I didn't appreciate how heavily they nerfed the Knight Enchanter's Spirit Blade, but overall, I felt like the gameplay was much improved.

The content itself was great. Things felt important and tense, moreso than a lot of the stuff in the main game. The scenery was also just gorgeous. Storywise, I'm glad the Qunari got more story significance, although I think they could have done more with the Viddasala and our alliance with the Qun. The meeting with Solas felt momentous. I had already suspected pretty much everything he told me, but it was still cool to see him at his full power. Scary. I have no idea how the hell anyone is supposed to challenge him.

I felt the same. It actually made up for a few of the things that disappointed me about the main game.

A few--not all.

My concern there is that they'll partly ignore his ubermench abilities, at least as far as the "turn people to stone with a stray thought" thing, or that they'll take him down before the possibility of fighting him comes around.

Re: WWE. So, you never became familiar with Kofi Kingston? That's too bad. On the other hand, you didn't have to witness the horrible way they ended the Undertaker's wrestlemania streak. That's a blessing.

...I actually haven't watched in a couple of years, but I still grab at opportunities to chat about stuff I do remember.

I think there should at least be an in-universe justification for weakening him. Like maybe carrying out whatever he has planned requires a significant amount of his power or maybe his abilties get mostly sealed away by whatever Mythal did with that eluvian. Regardless, I certainly don't see Bioware having the protagonist get anywhere close to matching Solas's current level of power.

Oh, I heard enough about the latter through the grapevine. Even disregarding the execution (which from what I gathered was...unimpressive), Brock Lesnar seemed like an odd choice to give such a momentous role. From what I saw of him before, he didn't really have much of a character or persona. He was just sort of...a bully...or something? With freakish trapezius muscles? I mean, you'd think they would have given the role to someone with more charisma.

My name is Duelist. I'm an expat kiwi living in Brisbane and a welder by trade.

As much as I like video games, fighting is my first love with Hapkido holding a special place in my heart as it was the very first martial art despite the fact that I've since moved on to Muay Thai and Boxing.

Other interests of mine include rugby league, cooking, yoga, going for long ass runs and reading.

He was the only one that could break the streak and either have his reputation enhanced by it or not give a **** whether people hated him for it or not...which they don't.

More than anything, his background meant that he's one of the few people who could believably kick Taker's ass.

That and the dude is money.

The only one? What about...I don't know...Kane? Someone actually relevant to the Undertaker's career instead of just a mound of angry muscles with a six year old's face on it?

I'm not surprised that people don't hate Brock Lesnar. There's nothing about him that makes you feel one way or the other. He's just sorta...there. I mean, sure, he's big and tough but that's why what he needs isn't more hype about how big and tough he is. It's character. Motivation. Something to cheer for or boo at.

As it stands, he just seems boring (at least to me). But, like I said, I haven't watched wrestling in ages anyway. Maybe he's a crowd favorite. What do I know?  =]

I agree with this guy.

edit: As for Kane...Last I checked, things were getting kind of ridiculous there, last I checked. Not that such hasn't happened before.
