Only if we get random elcor children.
Elcor Tween: Urgently. Father, I need 500 credits to see the Expel 10 cover band.
Father: Disapproval. No daughter of mine will be attending that garbage.
Elcor Tween: Vitriolic tantrum. With scorn. I strongly dislike you, father. With rage, I should migrate away.
Father: Dismissal. You always make this threat, and never make good on your promise. Impatient. Now close your oral slats and get in the car.

Lets not add them in this game especially, shall we.
Seems that kids in video games in general are usually those buttholes I want to murder....and thing is in ME seems they get YOU MURDERED! So yeah no no and no, do not want them, I got traumatized for life of kids thanks to ME3.

Kids don't often appear in video games, it's so strange. I think the most kids I've seen in a game was The Witcher 3.

I want to see some young NPCs in Andromeda so the world can feel more alive. I know there was one in ME3 but that was a human but imagine seeing aliens such as turians, quarians, krogans, or asari as children. Would you like to see some children NPCs in Andromeda?
Is it just me or does your request sound a bit strange considering your avatar?
Otherwise.. children in cities - why not?

Agree. Actually absence of kids in ME was pretty strange. You're like big hero, saving sapient species from extinction and there are no kids anywhere. What are fighting for then?

I read somewhere that the cycle of development for children involves many additional costs which are not worth it: they have to create separate body models, separate animations, and hiring apposite VAs, therefore they often prefer to not bother, unless there isn't a very specific reason for including them.

Personally I would rather the origin story be left ambiguously defined so that we can headcanon it.
Unless they want to do another DA:O and give us multiple options.

It is part of World building though, so it is often weird that RPG's don't feature them. Bethesda usually does good work with having a presence of kids in the worlds they create, same with CDRP and their work on The Witcher. Dragon Age Origins did it aswell because they actually built a world that felt like people lived in it. So when people say they don't want it in the game i completely disagree. Yeah kid voice actors can often be quite bad, and it brings extra work to the game, but if you care about the world you are building you will portray things like this in it.

People asked for children in ME3 and we all saw what happened!
If i see a kid in MEA i'll nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

But seriously, it wouldn't be a bad thing to see kids in ME:A as long as they stayed where they belong

Kids in a sci-fi space opera, what could possibly go wrong?

Children in ME:A? I suppose it could work, but not if we are going to have to drop something else from the game to make them work. I will be extremely annoyed if ME cuts out a distinct alien (like say ME's version of the Scramblers) just so we can have little Jack or Suzzie. ![]()
Speaking of the little buggers, if we do have children in the game, and they are involved in some of the quests, can they please not revolve around rescuing said children from peril? If little Timmy is trapped in a cave filled with ravenous Bulzors, despite repeated warnings not to go play around the caves I say let nature take it's course. ![]()

Including children in video games presents potential issues to address when it comes to some markets.
Some of the extreme cases are infamous (the ability to kill a boy by smacking him in the testicles with a sledgehammer was an oft-cited reason for Fallout 2's initial ban in England.)
A game like ME 3 wasn't going to be facing regulatory issues because of starbrat, but any game in which the kids could face potential violence faces a "violence against children" or "violence involving children" label, which is often going to end up getting it the strictest rating as far as the recommended age for purchase.

We can have children in ME:A but they should be just as susceptible to danger as everyone else. And no, I don't mean that the protagonist should be distraught when some of the little ones die. The universe is a dangerous place, and if there are children in a relatively dangerous location then it stands to reason that they would be susceptible to it. After all, adding children NPCs is all about making the world more believable right?
So, for example, if there is an alien organism that can utilize and reanimate the corpses of the dead to propagate itself and it gets lose in a civilian sector, you should expect to see children targeted by said organism.

There should be children of all species running around the ark ship. Though they shouldn't be anything more than background npc's. We don't need them involved in the narrative.
Well this can cut both ways. Take DA:O as an example at how to do this in a way that makes sense to the setting and is actually good writing. I guess this is a minor spoiler for the City Elf Origin.
