Yes, it's the most logical decision, is it not? They do have a single government in the face of the Alliance so why not a single language to better understand each other? Let's be honest, we already speak English here but I doubt everyone is from English-speaking countries.
Examples: Fai Dan and other Chinese people on Feros didn't have Chinese accent, Gianna Parasini didn't have Italian accent, Kasumi didn't have Japanese accent and so on. Very few people had accents for some reason and them being Dr Michel, Lt. Girard (French), Samesh Bhatia (Indian) and Yaroslav Tartakovsky (Russian or other Slavic accent). That's all I can remember. Now why of everyone in the Mass Effect universe only these four people have non-English accents?
It seems to me that for their single langue for government usage they would most likely to adopt the most convenient, easy to learn language in the world: Welsh

I like diversity, but ouch. We will need a lot of medi-gel, now. For that burn that Lucca_de_Neon gave.
I love my birds-brothers but i do wonder how could they solve crimes in the past. It's not like you can make an Identi-kit or something like that jajaja
I'd rather the main characters aren't voiced by Brits as well, because of how many British actors there are in the Dragon Age series. As much as I like some of the British VAs, I wouldn't want Mass Effect to mirror it. If they go for VAs who speak English as their first language but aren't from Canada or the United States, I'd rather they hired VAs from Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, or Australia instead.
That said I think there should be some British VAs in the cast, just not as the main character.
That would actually be interesting to have a main protagonist voiced by a Kiwi. It would be something different to the usual Anglophone voices we get in virtually every other game, and the Kiwi accent is usually a bit softer and less nasal (whiny-sounding) than the Australian one. It would certainly mark out MEA as a departure from the original trilogy.
As N7Jamaican said though; diversity is the key.

I want the woman who voiced Isolde in DA to voice EVERYONE in ME4.

Louiza Patikas. Also did a great job in TSW.

Can we romance a teammate who speaks French, Castellano, or Japanese?
It would leave me feeling nervous yet happy inside. Simply because to me those are sexy languages. Even if the girl rejected me, it would still sound attractive to me.
YES, PLEASE!! French is beautiful! I keep going back to Leliana just to hear the accent xD jajajaja i really need to sit down and study that language..also german.
Spanish is a little tricky because a lot of countries have it as their main language but the accent and words varies wildly from country to country (even from province to province) and in some cases, the accent is intolerable for other spanish speaking people xD so..it would be a tough choice jajaja I would totally appreciate it though! Also, writing down "castellano/español" was a subtle but nice gesture ![]()
sukoshi dake nihongo ga wakatteimasu! jajajajaja (not sure if it's right xD) i'm reading a little bit of japanese and it's not really that hard, confusing maybe but not hard. It's also very...strict. You can't even say "hey! Know what time it is?" without offending someone xD
I would rather have the ability to play the game in another language while everything is written in English.

Still hoping for a Nordic accent, does not matter if it's one of these Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic or Faroese. I just want a decent Scandinavian VA for the player character.
Not sure about accents but I notice there's a lot of Scandinavian actors who speak well in English without any accent or sounded like Americans. Mads Mikklesen, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Stellan Skarsgard, Alexander Skarsgard, Alicia Vikander, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman (yeah, I watch loads of tv/movies). Although I wouldn't mind if they wanted to do some VO works.
American, British, Canadian...
...Probably not much else.

Vikings in Space, The Musical!
jajaja kidding xd it would be awesome to have a character from many different places. Scandinavia is one of them. I think that overall, i just want to meet and be characters that have no connection to the US, Canada or Britain
This is, most people want to associate themselves with people that look and sound like them. That is not a problem, but Mass Effect has always been about diversity. And in Mass Effect, there have been other accents.
I don't see why not they won't continue this trend.
Perhaps because they altered their native Scandinavian tongue?
The way that guy speaks sounds kinda unnatural and forced to me as a native Scandinavian, it'd bug the hell out of me if that is what we would get.
The point to take away is really, if you want an accent for a character, hire voice actors from that country and have them do an English voice over, rather than English actors trying to force one that's not native to them.
Varied accents would be interesting, especially if it's a seed ship. I just hope they do away with the atrocious french accents I heard in most of their games.
Most of the atrocious French accents were from English-speaking VAs who were hired to do a French accent, but turned the Ham up to over 9000.
Most people seemed to like Leliana and Riordan/Stroud's voice acting, and they were both voiced by French voice actors.
On that note I'm hoping both Corinne Kempa and Stéphane Cornicard get major roles in Andromeda.

No one will notice and just associate it with Australia. New Zealand is in the same unenviable position as Canada with regards to accents. Jennifer Hale doesn't sound like an American AT ALL but as far as anyone but Canadians is concern she is doing an "American" accent. The great irony is that many of the so called American accents in accents in Bioware games are Canadian. Any Kiwi doing the voice work will be assumed to be an Australian to the vast majority.
I don't mind if they're bringing in more diverse VAs or let them do VO with their natural accents. But I am more wary if they for characters specifically written with an accent especially after Jade Empire (*cringe*). Not many are talented enough to pull it off tho. And I'm curious how localization works with this.
