Gold was weak this morning so I played some silver with Vanguards, some specifically with the Slayer.

I hosted some matches and I found out how some people make so many points. Just a quick background for better understanding:

I have some friends in PSN that are from the forums and are quite experienced. One of the people I play the most is XAN and we always play Gold. No matter what kit he takes, he always makes a lot of points and he's always with double points than the second player in the list. Things are usually dead before I can get to them.

And I always wondered how he does that.

 

Well I found out, at least on Silver, but the idea is the same on Gold: kill power. With the Slayer, I can charge a spawn and end it in moments (unless there's a banshee). I can kill a brute fast, a Ravager melts to my Phase Disruptor, and I don't even need my gun.

In all games I've played, I did triple to double points than the second player, simply because with that kit, I can kill fast and kill lots of enemies.

 

So that's the end of the mystery on how to make many points

 

However, it's be a while to get there on Gold as I'd need more experience and gear to replicate this on Gold.

Or Mb XAN just kill faster per second than the rest... Probably more significant for gold and plat is the increased multiplier for detonations in g and p

Exactly my point: killing fast is the key for many points. Issue is killing fast and not dying a lot. The Slayer seems squishy for Gold, at least for me. I'm not so good at not dying yet.

 

Although I played a Gold on host where a 350k CPs guy (maybe 40k N7 points) joined and asked to change to London. I was a lvl 18 kroguard with lvl 1 to 3 equips and he was a lvl 15 asari vanguard with lvl 3 to 5 equips.

 

He died constantly and we failed at w5 as I also died trying to revive him. He left and said he was sorry

Before that I played a solo on White and got to w10

You are often too metaphorical and hence I'm not sure I completely understand what do you mean by that. I guess you meant that there are days that nothing is left to kill for the other players as these players (swearing vikings) kill too fast.

 

And yes, I've seen a few in action. I don't think it's bad for lower experienced players like me. We get a ride, try to help a bit, avoid dying and save consumables

But it was cool to be the killer on Silver today!

Still not playing plat though, only Gold. And I can't carry anyone on Gold, so I need to play with players of my level or preferably more experienced than me.

 

PUGs work fine but friends are better

...then wait till u meet mr fallout4 (aka mexx) - since he already ascended into a next dimension of skill incomprehensible for mere me3 mp mortals.

Watch some char loadout for non missile speedruns to see that the most brittle characters with (almost) no spec into fitness and optimized for power/weapon/ammo multipliers (eg weapon damage formula), can do some serious badass damage. In short simply memorizing the whole resource library and applying it practically ... CP don't reflect that angle, so cp is a noobs' initial handle to at least stay silent when uncertain... i tend to stay silent.

Yeah it's like this in many MP games: in God of War, level doesn't matter much. It helps but a lvl1 skilled player than beat a lvl 40 demi god. Assassin's Creed is the same: you can beat a Prestige lvl 50 with a lower level. All those things indicate the amount of time one has played. And in theory, this should mean one would have at least decent skills. It's often not true.

 

Dedication to improve beats this all.

The idea wasn't to epeen, but mostly to share that I now understand how to make points as I could do it in practice. But it's not something I'll repeat all the time as this is very kit specific for me yet.

Player skill, combined with Adrenaline Module / speed / BC equals high score .. pretty much a simple and definitive guide to scoring well. Oh, and to get the scoreboard really lopsided, feel free to add some grenades to the mix as well.

 

Poor Ark, has trouble getting past wave 5 Gold ... not sure how believable that is. Although, If you set it to Rio and camp by the back of the ship you may be able to get past that wave 5 hurdle.

I never used Adrenaline Module with those guys as I tend to save them for slower kits, mainly the Jugg. I could try one and see if it gets better.
