Hi all. This probably belongs more in General Discussion but I am more wondering about the modding scene more so I placed it here. Some may remember me from a few years ago but I have been inactive for quite a while now. Just wondering how things are going on the community content end these days? I looked over the forums quickly here and it is more active than I expected so that bodes well.

So, how's things?

I'm still waiting on your module where you play a goblin. ;)

The biggest things off the top of my head since you left:

We have master packs of all placeables and all tilesets.

Placeables, lots of placeables. rjshae has made/converted a ton and tchos has brought a ton in from Witcher (CD Project Red being awesome and allowing this)

People have figured out how to so several "impossible" things, like ingame movies (not just at beginning/end of module.

We've gotten a surprising amount of new tilesets, enough to pleasantly annoy the person who maintains the master tileset pack.

The old Vault died, but the community reacted by getting everything from the old Vault and putting it on the new, community owned Vault. If you like the Nexus, their owner also put up a site for us.

Drechner and team finished the Baldur's Gate Reloaded module, bringing BG into NWN2 land. They are hard at work on BG2 and Throne of Bhaal.

Not sure how many years "a few" is, but there are also the bits of custom content shown in the little demo videos on my Youtube channel, almost all of which are included in my campaign and open for others to use.  (I still haven't gotten around to packaging them in a form convenient for those who don't know how to extract things from a campaign, but in this case it's simply "copy them out of my campaign folder".)

Considering how old this game is, it's going pretty well.

Personally, I'm having fun working on my campaign, and playing other people's stuff. Folks keep churning out content.

Hi Knightmare. All is good and I am happy that I see former members still coming back to see what's going on.

Hello Knightmare, it's been a long time. We've been just plugging along, building stuff, and fixing more problems. How's things?

yeah, my wife had our first kid, we moved across country and adult life began before i could finish things. Maybe I should just post what is there and maybe at least someone could make use of the scripts, puzzles and games I created. I'm helping a professional indie team create a new RTS game right now, so doubt I'll get back to building the module anytime soon. If I remember correctly it's mostly functional, so who knows, maybe I'll get the bug again...

Sounds like a lot of cool things have happened here though. What about the player population for created mods? That doing ok?

You mean how many people are playing recent modules?  I think it's fine for a game of this age.  Mine has had around 1000 unique downloads over 16 months.

Hello _Knightmare_ it's good to hear from you again.

You should post what you have I think. You were pushing the boundaries with your work and it might be good to see what you where doing under the bonnet.

I think the main changes you would see here is some of the faces have moved on. The owl no longer posts and a few of the others have become infrequent posters but there's a core of us and still much interest in the community for new work.

Hope that little one of yours is giving you joy,

PJ

I'll have to dig up what I have on my drive, swapped computers a few times since then but it should all be there still. Where is the spot to upload things these days?

Take your pick, or preferably use both:

Your old postings are listed here on the new vault.

Also, if you register on the Vault you can "claim" the entries and they will be assigned to your Vault account. You can contact the Vault mods to do so, or pop into irc where a mod or two normally is.

Lol, wow forgot about a couple of things on there I did. Guess it was nothing worth remembering hahaha. I'll try to get some time and get things uploaded there.

Think I should just upload it all as one thing or try to separate stuff out? I forget how interrelated stuff might be. If memory serves I developed things in separate "builder modules" then imported them into my main mod, so maybe it will be ok.

Anything you remember me working on that you would like to see first? I know there is 10s of thousands of lines of custom code in there along with custom functions and such.
