Best I got at the moment is half and half tea. Half lemonade half tea, weirdly delicious. Not as good as cookies though.
Commiserating with my sister about my mother's terrible cooking. Snow. Reading that the prognosis is good and that the surgery shouldn't be too disfiguring. Wrestling and howling with my dogs.
The blood of my enemies.
Seeing people improve, and overcome difficulty maturely.
That's really it. Helping people solve problems is what I do for a living, and I honestly enjoy it more than most power fantasy RPGs.
My greatest source of joy is probably inflicting existential dread and misery on others. "Yes, it's all for nothing and you're alone in the universe. Have a nice day!" For some reason, I tend not to get the best teaching evaluations.
Stargazing. Especially outside of the city. Never gets boring.
Also music. And now some recommendations under the cut.
Getting everyone out alive -- not unscathed but alive -- in a very difficult mission in X-Com 2 makes me happy. Slightly spoiler-y picture goodness below, but nothing major.
I just finished the campaign, which feels pretty good.
Though I'm not creative and use the soliders the game gives me:
This artwork of steampunk Poison Ivy makes me pretty happy.
Speaking of which, do you guys think this group could use an art thread, or would that be a little too much going on in such a quiet little corner of the forums?
You post that picture and then ask if we need an art thread? This artwork of steampunk Poison Ivy makes me pretty happy.

Nice! I'm making steady progress (I think) in the campaign.I just finished the campaign, which feels pretty good.

Creating something and actually being satisfied with my work. I have a real problem with that second part and constantly tinker and tinker and tinker some more... In relation to that, coming up with some concept and seeing it through to completion. Having a bunch of unfinished projects sitting around, weighing on my mind until the creative juices feel like flowing, is not that great a feeling.
A cup of good coffee, a good book, sunlight on my face. Evening mist covering the streetlights while I walk the dogs.
How could I forget? Hearing my lover's voice. Skyping and playing MMOs with friends. H*ll, just having friends who don't mind my geekiness brings a smile to my face.
Blue hair makes me happy, definitely.

Blue hair makes me happy, definitely.
And this too, definitely. I will leave the blue hair to you though, I will just admire it. ![]()
Rune Factory is currently being the thing to brighten my day while being stuck in bed. Tides of Destiny in particular. Two boss battles that make me want to destroy everything I know and love aside, it's a super relaxing game. Perfect for when you're on the mend ![]()

I mean just look at that thing it's so adorable it'll make you get happy whether you want to or not.
And this too, definitely. I will leave the blue hair to you though, I will just admire it.
I predict blue hair in your future. ![]()
Speaking of blue, the blue jays made me feel happy this morning. Toads make me smile, and finding mushrooms.
The baby squirrels sunning themselves on the tree outside my window.
Stuff that makes me happy:
Actually, I was just kidding about the diet coke. That stuff will kill you.
If we're going to talk about food-love, here's mine:
A fat tomato fresh from my garden, sun-warm.
A leaf of sorrel so sour it makes my mouth pucker.
A handful of juicy blackberries.
Fuzzy peaches from the Farmers Market, sweeter than sugar.
A blue ceramic bowl filled with Meyer lemons.
A potful of colorful vegetables: red and orange and yellow bell peppers, beech mushrooms, purple and orange carrots, deep green tatsoi, butternut squash and cubes of braised tofu, all waiting for a tangy sauce of ginger, lime, peanuts, chilis and coconut milk.
Playing in the snow and coming inside to a cup of deep, dark hot chocolate sprinkled with cardamom, cinnamon, chipotle and black pepper.
A crusty boule fresh from the oven, spangled with seeds.
A bottle of red wine shared with friends.
As for food:
Ceviche tostaditas
Brachetto D'acqui (semi-sweet Italian bubbly wine)
Warm sourdough bread with butter and lemon curd
Garlic and herb goat cheese with dry black truffle salami
Prosciutto & arugula
Steak & arugula
Duchess de Borgogne sour red ale
Steak pho
smoked salmon and capers
Passionfruit anything
Cherry Dr. Pepper
milk chocolate salted caramels
white peaches and nectarines
Takis: hot chili pepper & lime tortilla chips
Hell, if we're going to talk about food... mashed potatoes and gravy is probably my favorite food on the planet. Grilled cheese sandwiches and any type of sandwich are also high up there, followed by any gooey dessert -- Ben & Jerry's Vanilla Caramel Fudge is a current fav. Gooey food is the best, really.
Going to the doctors and finding out the reopen wound you have is actually getting more shallow and shouldn't need daily bandage changing in maybe less than a month. That was a huge relief to find out even if it still hurts a lot.
