Wait, wait, wait. Customers, friendly? Does not compute.

Yeah, I guess so far I've only run into ones with either a winning streak or were drinking a lot. I guess customer isn't the right word for it but it's the only one I could think of.

I'm still smiling here. Last night, I decided to take a break from games before I turned into pixels. So I watched some documentaries on famous folks that I've always respected.

Steve McQueen: The Man and Le Mans.

Steve McQueen was a very famous and well respected actor in the '50s-'70s. Among other movies, he did the original Thomas Crown Affair and the Towering Inferno. He was also well known for his love of racing and cars. In 1970, he tried to make the ulitmate racing movie. It was a....troubled production, and it changed his life for good. It didn't end his career in movies though. If you're into cars, racing and/or Steve McQueen, it's excellent. I'm actually not that interested in any of the above, but it certainly kept me engaged.

So once that was over, I decided I wanted to see what else was up. My next choice?

I Am Divine.

It's a great and touching documentary about Divine, star of John Waters movies and techno diva. I found out that he was the pioneer of the camp drag look. Apparently underground "Drag Balls" were going on and it was all very serious. John and Divine decided to make fun of that group by making the makeup and attitude exaggerated.

Divine was also a shy and extremely kind person and it took years for him to not be just seen as the outrageous screaming banshee of a drag character.

Finally, the night was starting to wind down. I ended with...

Mr. Dynamite

It's one of the documentaries about James Brown during his peak years. They got into some interesting facts, like that James endorsed Nixon and Nixon's re-election and they didn't shy away from his more negative qualities. However, it was a little sugar coated. The doc ends at about the disco era and on a pretty positive note.

Considering what happened to James Brown about 10 years after the point the documentary ends, probably best that way.

I hope I can find a few more good ones like those tonight. :)

If you want the flip side of that check out the mocumentary series on Netflix, the name escapes me but I'll try and find it and edit it in.

It takes a variety of film types and makes a mocumentary of them, found footage, crime reporting, travelogue, and band documentary.

Was able to use the day to get this new room straighten up a little bit better and move in the box spring for my mattress so I'm not on the floor anymore, and tomorrow I'm going to get a bank set up over here so I can finally start to buy things with my paychecks. It's a little sad how excited I am over such simple things^^;

I've actually seen Le Mans. It's like two hours of Steve McQueen driving a car, being broody and not talking to his wife.

(Edit) Or maybe she was the dead guy's wife, I can't remember.

Yeah, that was weird. Did you annoy someone on the public boards to get a personal mod?

Me being me, probably. It's still screwed up though, especially while others get away with worse.

Whoa whoa whoa. Back the truck up. How bad did this get? I'm sorry if I've appeared oblivious, but what the hell?

Edit: Might as well take this into the vent thread, to keep this one on topic.

Across two threads I've racked up 5 warning points for language and got this PM.

I still can't figure out why a couple of those posts were targeted, but then that mod targeted a few of us there.

Happy note: Euro 2016 starts today. Tomorrow will be an all day futbol day with Euro 2016 and Copa America games.

The Euro 2016 happens in my country ! :P  I'm super happy tonight ! I went in a bar with my girlfriend to watch the first match, France against Romania ! Full of people, a noisy and beautiful atmosphere, everyone tense and looking at the big T.V during the match lol.

Romania might not be the strongest country with football, but it has always been very difficult for France to beat it, and the first match to begin a competition is always very important.

France won its first match. =) Man, everyone was silent when toward the end, it seemed that we weren't going to win the first match.... Especially that from our perspective they didn't deserve a penalty, given how so well they played and were far superior to the other team.

And then, it remained only two minutes before the end, everyone was losing hope,  and Dimitri Payet, the hero of the match saved the day ! The second gooaaaaaaal that set us free !!!  :D

The big room exploded with joy and shouts, mine included !  What a beautiful goal !   The competiton has very well started.

Cold weather aside, being back in New Zealand has been cathartic to say the least.

Still can't wait to get back to Brisbane though. I miss the warm winters.

Chatting with people from all over the world about a game company that I love. Seriously, you guys make it worthwhile to come here. I sometimes stop and geek out over the modern age. Being able to talk to people around the world and getting past most language and cultural barriers will always be awesome to me.

I'm happy to see that my political analysis made a few months ago with one of my friends who likes to discuss politics too is absolutely right so far about Trump being an absolute terrible candidate. i exactly predicted that once he would become the candidate of the republican party, he wouldn't do a good job. He goes against any pragmatical logic. Alienating women, educated white people, minorities, especially hispanic, being the most awful strategy.. That's exactly how Obama won twice, especially with Mitt Roomney. Trump didn't seem to have learnt that having just white male voters unlike in the 80s isn't enough to win an election today. That's a new reality he fails to grap. Let alone all his ridiculous mistakes. To be honest, he is even worse than what I thought, as an uneffective candidate.

I kept reading in a few american journals how he was succeeding for a while against the odds against the other republicans candidates, but I suspected it would change once we would enter in the general election. There is a whole difference between the two. That's what Marine Lepen learned with the last regional elections in France. She always succeeds to mobilize her own fans, but has difficulty to go beyond than that.

One of my friends bet with me that Trump would do better than Hillary Clinton. I have no idea how he came to that conclusion lol. 50 euros at stake. He is already fearing he lost them.  ;)

Happy Birthday!!

What's making me happy today is a $5 item. It's a mister that you can hook up to your hose. It's S-shaped and the water is forced through a couple of small nozzles on top. It produces a fine spraying mist that's just enough to cool me off without getting me wet. The thing is a godsend when it's around 100 degrees outside (About 40 degrees Celsius.) The Sasquatch has his moments of sheer genius. He bought it at a grocery store. :P
