Basicly I am talking about a tool like Twine to edit one´s own Story into the Mass Effect Universe.

Star Trek Online did something called The Foundary, where Fans can enter their story into the Star Trek Online Universe including the charakters, fight System etc..

There is currently NO Game Out there, that has the Option for Fans to

-> Create Story WITH CHOICES

Woudn´t it make sense that Bioware would be the comany who first indroduces it?

Like a "Holodeck" on the Pathfinder Ship where Fans can express themselve creatively...

...which would also enrich Mass Effect Andromeda with Tons of extra Storys.

How do you feel about it?

I can see an indie game taking a giant risk like that, but not a AAA company like EA that likes it's games to make money off of their formulaic platforms based on what people already like. :)

So you are saying that you highly doubt that EA is going new ways to indroduce a foundry where player can create their own story in a mass effect game?

Different question, regardless the likiness, would you guys love a concept like this in a Bioware game?

No i don't think i would like such a concept. There's a huge amount of resources that go into providing writing, voicing, animating for the existing branching narrative stories.

It sounds like you are asking for a highly advanced modding tool and I don't believe EA embrace that concept readily.

I would like to have some form of facility to develop ME stories, I write fan fiction and have some experience of collaborating in ME group projects and used twine as a tool for one project to show choice and timeline branch points. I never got near the stage of using it properly though. Good tool though.

The only way to realistically accommodate such a system is to make the story and characters so simplistic and boring they can fit a million different fan insert PCs. It would mean sacrificing professional writing to accommodate your fan fiction.

Okay, thx for the clearity. You would love to see the ressources spend on the main professional story. To me the main professional story is also very important.

I wonder if it was possible to do both in a good way.

Okay. Now i feel a bit hopeless that EA/Bioware is going that path.

I love twine too. Its a way to express myselve creatively.

To me I would love a story creator, because of the part of expressing creatively. As awell regarding the part of having many additiation storys to play.

Thx for your feedback on the idea.

And a general absence of voice acting, physical animations, and the like that make this notion nigh-impossible in a modern AAA game with high-rez graphics that include lip-syncing.

Not saying that I don't appreciate custom stories or plenty of options, but it's the same reason why Daggerfall is so much more vast than Skyrim: copy-paste graphics and text boxes are so much easier to work with than unique models and verbatim speech. Sadly, sacrifices must me made for such concessions.

I'm playing with Twine at the moment. Loving it. So many ideas to make good use of it.

problem with that my boy is bioware and EA would become lazy like bethesda

bethesda rely hevaliy on player content to fix bugs and things to make there games more intresting if players got ahold of such a tool bioware would make us do all the work at the end of the day

I'm not entirely sure what that means... to me every play-through of XCOM is a story with choices. Lots and lots of choices ... and consequences.

Damn, Chryssalid, should have put Biggins on Overwatch - farewell Biggins, you'll be missed.

Players making their own content in EA games for free? Hell will freeze over before that ever happens.

BioWare's "professional writing" has already fallen to the level of fan fiction.

I took a look at the internet regarding this. It seems to me there is no story editor in the game. Only a possibility to mod storys into the game. i do not have the programming skills to mod, so its not an option to me. i was more looking like ingame story editors like the foundry of star trek online, just with choice options. thx for mentioning it anyway.

Regarding the ending of ME3, i´d say below it. however i am quite happy with anything they wrote in ME1-3 prior to the ending. Absolutly fantastic.

Didn´t play through dragon age, since i didn´t like the fight system, thought.
