Probably my least favorite shotgun. It's decent fun on marksman character due to its automatic nature but I don't really like it on casters. I'd pick disciple or eviscerator if I need a light weight shotgun on the batdept.

When you cant get point blank headshots with a weapon named after a sword that gained notoriety for decapitations....then you know something is really wrong with it.

I only use it when my lips are tired from gently blowing kisses at the enemies.

 

Um... also on the batglove volguard, but he just uses it as a light omni-blade handle and ammo primer.

I like it ok on gold once in a while with priming ammo and a fast detonator power, same as with the avenger. They're both fast and accurate and light and have decent ammo, just don't do much direct damage.

It can be effective on Paladin, AIU, Fury and Valkyrie with right mods and ammo, but I don't like it, Katana can be more effective, or its just my subjective feeling.

It's pretty awesome.  I strapped it onto my Vanguard and wiped out all the Collectors & a couple of Scions with ease before my squaddies' powers were even recharged, and I had ammo to spare.  People here must be thinking of a different gun.

Nope, easily in the top 5 weapons I dislike the most. The only Scimitar "fan" I can remember about here was NuclearTech.

I love it too , my CS spam soldier runs it, my vorchsol melee guy too

I find it's fine on gold, with the right setup. Either I maximize its damage with the appropriate kits (MM kits, Infiltrators, esp. the AIU) and consumables, or I use it as omniblade holder and/or ammo primer on the right kits (Cryo builds, Shaman, Krentinel spring to mind, but there are a bunch of others)... now I feel like speccing the AIU for melee and getting a bit of everything

True but the thing is, with a good build, amps and gear you can kill stuff with a soggy newspaper if you want to. That doesn't make it much of a good weapon Imo.

It's true one burns through the 34 round reserve pretty quickly. But one doesn't have to keep clicking, it is a full-auto weapon, albeit with a low RoF.

I didn't say it's a good weapon. I say that it's viable on Gold, which several other good players here who have actually used the gun have also stated. I am saying it's not great, and it's not unusable. And of course you would put it together with the right build, as with any other weapon.

 

Hyperbole is rarely the friend of accuracy. BSN hyperbole goes way beyond that.

I've never used its autofire. I didn't even know, lol. If I had known, I would've used it with marksman for the crappy weapon challenge.

It is full auto, but it fires faster if you do it manually. After testing, Marksman doesn't speed up the fire rate enough unless you still do it manually. Conclusion: you need lots of clicking for it to be somewhat effective.

So... I did it right all the time and Marksmad is wrong? No wonder he lost all his CPs. Serves him well for locking people in the reactor, too.

I rock it pretty well with my Brotarian sentinel. On platinum mind you. Someone mentioned Nuclear Tech. I knew the dude. He saw me play with the Scimitar lol ^.^

Oh alright fine, I'll be honest. No gun is that bad, but I'm just biased against all shotguns. With a sniper rifle, I can get 20 headshots by wave 5 if I have to. But with a shotgun, I couldn't land a single headshot to save my life. I have this problem with practically every game I've played, at close range, I find it impossible to focus on a target and shoot everywhere but where the enemy is standing. It really just makes shotguns stressful to use, and why I find most of them unappealing.
