I would like to take some in-game videos, but have no clue what programs to use.

What are you all using for such things?

I use FRAPS to record ingame footage and edit the video using Windows Movie Maker for my growing collection of videos.

FRAPS is easy to use, but has the drawback of not being free if you want to capture more than 30 seconds of video and it lays their ad on the video.

Virtual Dub is free and open source, but I have not used it.

If you have an Nvidia card that supports it, Shadowplay

http://www.geforce.c...ence/shadowplay

Open Broadcaster Software is also free and open source

https://obsproject.com/

Windows 10 has a built in utility to record , but then you'd have to use Windows 10...

Dxtory is also popular (not free or open source)

Thanks Kamal. Appreciate it.

I've used Fraps before. I think most of the stuff I need to take video of would not need to be longer than 30 seconds. I may try a couple of those free ones though, just to see how they work for longer videos.
