hi guys/gals, found my self with some extra cash and decided to get a ps4 with inquisition gtoy (really wanted a gtx sli rig cause I love difficulty mods) but my 7yr old really wanted a ps4 so bye bye SLI
So I consider myself a DA:O pro, beaten it every which way possible, but I'm a total noob to DA:I besides the lore. ps4 arrives today and I just have a few questions ! are tactics and orgins gone ? rip dw war ? and my main question is popular solos in DA:O are ass/duel rogs, bm/aw mage, and dw war. I'm hoping to jump into a solo right away . whats the popular solo playthru for dai or whats your favorite solo flavor: race, orgin, class, specials ? lookforward to hearing from the DA:I community ! oh yeah sucks I cant use mods on ps4, any tips from DA:I console players to increase overall gameplay/funfactor !

last one first, trials. Though may want a non-trialed PT first just to get used to new controls.
Anything can solo, though the Knight Enchanter mage is the DAI equivalent to DAO BM/AW. It just never dies.
DW War and tactics have joined dinosaurs and the dodo.
Starflorge has some good youtube videos on late game builds to check out, give you an idea of what everything does. (he's on PC, but I use the same builds on PS4 for the most part).

Yes. Dumbed down to just On/Off/Preferred and Follow Controlled character vs. not.
DAI is pretty much a completely different game from DA:O. Don't count on your expertise with DA:O to be worth anything. Seriously.

Unless you beat Dark Souls and Bloodborne easily (i.e., you are a pro action gamer), I would advise against that. Do a first playthrough with a full party, just to get a feel for the set piece battles and quests. After one full completion, you'll be able to plan a solo run much more effectively.
If you really want to do solo first, start with multiplayer to at least get a hang for the combat mechanics, before doing a solo run in single player.
I also recommend against using Trials for a first run. You can't really appreciate what they tweak if you don't have a baseline with no Trials.

For a long time Knight-Enchanter was the hands-down favorite for solo runs. But KE got nerfed in a recent patch and it's a bit more of a level playing field now. DW or Archer Rogue with Assassin specialization is one of the top contenders: it's high damage output and fun to play. Rogue Archer/Artificer and DW/Tempest are also up there. Rift Mage is also up there. Warrior with Champion is good as a solo build for pure tanking.
For race, go with Qunari for pure combat ability (any class). For story and content access, female elf is probably best.
Fun factor: All the rogue specs are fun. Mage specs can be fun also, depending on your style. Crafting is essential, not so much for fun, but to get the most out of your damage output.
Oh, here's a fun-factor tip: when you first get to the Hinterlands, the objective is to open Redcliffe Village. Do that as quickly as possible, go through the Village, then get out. You can easily spend 50+ hours just in the Hinterlands in a first PT, a lot of it wasted time.

If you take my advice and not go solo in your first run, choose to side with the mages. That quest forces you to go at least duo anyway (unless you disable the AI for the party member). Then in your second run, side with the Templars. That quest, Champions of the Just, does allow you to go solo. In fact, it forces you to do part of it solo. It's also the more fun/challenging of the two to do solo. The boss battle at the end of Champions is a popular brag combat for solo. There's a video of one guy who did it underleveled, solo, with no armor.
