I lost one, which was Zaed cause he wasnt loyal. Being paragon its almost impossible. I had close to 80% or more and still didnt have the last option at his loyalty mission. Didn't loose anyone except him. Which is funny cause it shows his dead body and yet joker says we didnt loose anyone(bug imo) I have all the upgrades. Does anyone know it the 360 achievement is based of all the crew members(non team) or just team. I don't believe Zaeed should count against you, hes technically DLC. Some people don't update the game and would never be able to get the dont loose any teamember.

I did Zaeed's mission and was @ 100% Paragon and I had the relevant dialogue option in the end, so it's definitely doable to gain his loyalty as a Paragon. Problem was, by choosing that mission I lost half my crew, since I didn't go through the relay immediatelly after the Collector attack on Normandy. So I reloaded a save and skipped his personal mission and he still lived through the suicide mission, despite of not being loyal (it goes without saying that I didn't assign any special role to him).

zaeed was the first person i got loyal, did his quest right after i got him, couldn't have had more than 50% paragon. i used the paragon dialogue choice.

Here's how I got through it.

My squad was - Tali, Jacob Then Legion, Jacob

Legion for vents

Garrus second squad leader both times

Thane led the crew back safely

Barrier was Samara

I was worried though when Samara let the barrier down that she was going to die. Thankfully all squad members made it through.

You can also use Jack for the biotic barrier, that's who I used. Be sure to get her upgrade though, L5 biotic implants.

^True. When does your crew get captured. I want to avoid that mission until im ready.

If you grab the Reaper IFF you will set into motion a chain of events that completely screws you over. I'd recommend doing everything you want to do before that point. Wait too long and you will earn the wrath of the drunken cougar that is Doctor Chakwas. Also, a bunch of people will die.

Do you mean waiting too long before doing the IFF mission or after?

Yea I was able to punch him the first time when he blew up the soldiers, but I saved the people and he missed the merc. The thing fell on him and there was a dialogue choiche in the top left and was unable to use it, which was weird usually thats paragon could been renegade I guess.

No, take all the time you need BEFORE doing the IFF mission. The longer you wait to do the final mission after the Reaper IFF, there will be some repercussions.

After. If the crew is abducted and you don't save them right away, most of them get chewed up by nanomachines.

Well like most people i seem to lose Mordin, first time through everyone was loyal, everything upgraded even his omni-tool, he died holding them off as i went against the final boss. maybe if i keep him with me for the boss next time, i used Thane and Garrus for that showdown. i used

Vent - Legion

Fire team - Miranda (Both times)

Barrier - Samara

Escort- Zaeed

And mordin is the only one who dies, any ideas?

I am not sure how to help out the Mordin issue so many have. I didn't choose him for a single task, and he survived. Maybe you need to beat the last boss faster. I've heard the longer that takes the higher squad members will die.

Don't let Thane be a captain of a squad. For the love of god don't do it.

Well...Hmm.  Let me think of this.

"Who will lead this squad?"

"Hmmm...Well, on one hand, Garrus is an experienced leader who has dealt several times with a variety of tactical situations.  He's also used to surviving while outnumbered and outgunned.  On the other hand, Thane is a lone assassin who has never worked as part of a team before, much less given orders to one."

...No, sorry, don't see what's wrong with putting Thane in charge.  It's because he's ill, isn't it?  You're just prejuidced against sick people.

Ok, to survive you need all ship enhancements and all loyal squad members. Plus you need to pick the right people for the jobs to survive. Here is who i picked...

door opener: Legion

Strike leader: Miranda

Biotic protector: Samara

crew member guard: Grunt

Diversion team leader: Garrus

With this you should be able to survive, and by ship upgrades i mean weapons, shields, and armor. Hope this helped.

For me it was:

Vents: Thane

Strike Leader: Grunt (who for some reason was loyal and fortification was still locked)

Biotic protector: Samara

Crew escort: Grunt

Diversion team leader: miranda

The only person I lost was thane. I am wondering if potentially the people who die have to do with how much time you spent speaking to them. I didn't speak with thane much compared to the rest of the crew and he was the only one who died.

No deaths, crew or squadmates.

Do all loyalty missions and get all squad/ship upgrades prior to doing the IFF quest or you get put on a time limit and people will die if you take to long regardless of how good everything else is. The dialog made it quite clear that this was a turning point in the game.

Once you do the IFF you will have enough time to get Legion's personal and ship upgrades and do his loyalty quest. If you do anything else after that people start to die.

Vents: Legion or Tali, though Legion seems to have a higher success rate if not everything is perfect, I think if you take to long getting to the door people will get killed also.

Fire Team: Garrus is the best choice both times, though others can also get it done, move quickly to help them out no matter who it is.

Biotic Sheild: Samara seems to be the strongest biotic, but Jack is also real strong and can get it done, same thing here I think the longer you take to clear enemies probably hurts, but I am unsure.

Crew Escort: Any one that is loyal.

Make sure the two squaddies you fight the last battle with are loyal.

No i dont think talking to them counts. Thane isnt supposed to go in the vents.

All ship ugrades

All loyalty (Did Legion's loyalty quest before testing IFF. Then went immediately to Omega 4 Relay. All crew saved.)

Vents: Legion

Second team leader: Miranda

Escort: Jacob

Holding Team: Miranda again

Barrier: Jack

My Team: Grunt and Jack

Everybody made it.

I did try Garrus and Miranda to go w/ me on the final assault. Mordin died. Out of curiosity, I reloaded and played w/ original squad, Jack and Grunt. All survived.

ok let's see

I had all the upgrades (ALL of them.....like..nothing left to upgrade aside for the scarring research which I do not need since I play totally paragon)

I used

Jacob to lead fire team 1

Tali in the vents

Miranda for fire team 2 (she was slightly shot in the butt...but come on there is SO much padding there)

Grunt for Escort

Samara for Bubble shield bioric

Tali and Miranda in my final battle

everyone survived (got the achievement to prove it) ..Modrin DID look like hw got knocked back during the scene in which they hold the line at the door but he was alive according to the achievement

I also made sure I talked to everyone VERY extensively to the point no one had anything more to say to me (well Jack was pissed off because I did not romance her...miranda was understanding of it.....according to tali the sinus infection, cough and fever coming from the 2 hours of intimacy were bad...but it was SO totally worth it....)

the problem is that I waited too long to go get my crew and everyone but checkwas died.....will rectify in second playthrough....

I had Legion for the vents (he died closing the doors). Used Samara for the first fire team and Miranda for the 2nd. Used Samara for the biotic shield and Zaeed to help the survivors return. I didn't make anyone specific hold the door before the last fight. My team was always Modrin and Grunt. The only one I lost was Legion.

I didn't get all upgrades, I missed one shotgun upgrade and one biotic/tech upgrade. Maybe the tech upgrade was the reason Legion died. The only ship upgrade I didn't get was the med bay.

Oh, so who should I use for what on the final mission. From what I heard

Tali or Legion for vents.
Jacob or Grunt for Escort.
Miranda or Garrus for Leader.
Samara or SuZe for Barrier.
Does it matter who is with you on the last boss?

What do you guys think?

I belive you are correct.  Your tech specialist or someone else will die if your B-team is lead by someone who isnt qualified.  Samara and Subzero seem to require loyalty in order to get everyone through the door, both times i had to carry  Samara (didn't have her loyalty) through while the swarm draged someone off.  After the boss, if  the characters on your team are not loyal, they don't survive the fall.

I did everything I wanted to do BEFORE the Reaper IFF mission. I had full loyalty of all squad members.

Tali: vents

Miranda: Squad

Garrus: Squad

Jacob: Escort

Jack: Barrier

Final fight Legion and Thane (If you have all of the sniper rifle upgrades {especially the Geth sniper rifle} and good armor upgrades they pick off the collectors in nothing flat).

I did all of the ship upgrades as well.

Everyone lived.

I used

Legion for vents, and he got shot and stopped working (he's not really alive).
Mordin for Escort.
Mordin for Leader, lol I don't really know why I chose him maybe cause he was in special forces or something.
Samara for Barrier.
On the last boss I had Miranda and badass Thane.

Some of the upgrades do matter, I think:
Mordin can die in the holding action if you don't upgrade his omni-tool.
If you don't upgrade Jack's Subject Zero bbiotic boost, I think she or another team member can die if you choose her for the barrier.
Not sure about anything else.
My question is this: How do you maximize casualties with everyone loyal (and still live through it yourself)?

Tali for vents

Miranda for first squad, Garrus for second

Samara on biotics

Jack on escort

Worked great but you need to upgrade each team members special uprgade (grunts shotgun, jacks biotic, Mordins omni-tool) also.
