A small part of DAI focus on the potential impact of Red Lyrium in the Tevinter-Qunari war in the sense that if the magisters ever got their hands on the stuff it would mean doom for all of Thedas.

So I got this idea...

Since it's pretty much impossible to defeat the Qunari at sea to reclaim Seheron much less bring the fight to Par Vollen, what if the Tevinter end game over the Qun is to pull an Enola Dragon and drop a country busting  Red Lyrium bomb over Qunandar?

I mean, the Vints are pretty desperate now that Solas's slave rebellions and the Venatori fiasco left the country at the verge of collapse.

It would be crazy yet awesome if the next game allowed you to choose wheter Thedas should coexist with the Qunari, at the cost of a constant threat of war, or if the Qunari get rekt into history by a renegade protagonist.

How would they go about even "dropping" such a weapon in the event that they could actually build something like that? I think a more liberal usage of the "Anders special" would be more practical. Load up some fireships with them and send them coasting toward Qunari fleets at night. Use some blood magic shenanigans to rig up a prospective "convert" internally and send them to one of their re-education centers, and so on.

If the Qunari sue for peace, it means they are no longer confident in their ability to achieve a decisive victory. That, in my mind is the best time to force the issue (if possible), because it's clear that "peace" is only their means to buy time for the next invasion. There can be true peace when they've been contained and disarmed.

By Enola Dragon I mean using a blood magic controled high dragon to carry a bomb the size of a gurn but with the yield of a Fat Man.

Good idea. Assuming red lyrium will explode like that. I think the best they could hope for is just contaminating Par Vollen with red lyrium though.

Since red lyrium is tainted, you realise you're advocating spreading the Blight across all of Par Vollen?

Also, if they could control dragons they wouldn't need a bomb. They could just use dragons as weapons of war. The Stolen Throne and DA:I establish that a high dragon is as deadly as an army.

^And the games prove they aren't really. Trespasser proves the Qunari can handle them, given sufficient numbers and weapons.

Well, the only individual known to be able to control high dragons is now tranquil, so that would be difficult to pull off, before even considering the other factors

True. Better to invest in the Shapeshifter spec.
