I tested it for Krysae. The "auto-fire" part still works, but rate of fire doesn't increase (basically, you hold the button, dodge, dodge again, and only then it fires, unlike Scimitar and other guns from videos). It seems that fire rate and animation speed are two separate variables, and even animation cancel won't help you if the fire rate is nerfed.

Strange. I know there is two stats that can affect rate of fire(RoF and refire rate), but refire rate on both guns seem to be not there.

I guess I'll have to test to see what's going on.

I am too early for this drunk

I live in Aussie land so it's 10 PM right now.

Two more videos. Falcon's fire-rate doesn't seem to increase too.

Interesting. If the Falcon's RoF isn't increasing that would suggest the refire rate can't be overwritten while the ROF can.

I guess it's time scrubs. Drunk Cyonan is returning to the field of battle.

Interesting. Just like how Rocket Troopers are able to fire double rockets by abusing the getting in/out of cover as on of the BioWare employees explained was happening (but he's not fully right, as I see Rocket Trooper fire 2-3 rockets even without abusing this cover system, unless their cancelling out of other animations I'm not away of). But yeah, pretty interesting that we can abuse the same so called BioWare clever use of game mechanics. Totally working as intended as usual (ie. Not). So nice find, OP.

More tests show that if you hold the fire button, then run forward a bit and stop, the weapon also fires. This probably was how I originally got my batarian to fire Scimitar quicker than it should have.

And, by the way, the Slayer BC+Talon auto-shot+PD+Talon auto-shot combo is devastating.

The Scimitar is weird.

If you hold down the fire button with it, it simply just fires slower than if you mash the button repeatedly.

What does this mean stats-wise?

what do u mean by talon autoshot ?

On your other tests, i dont see a clear RoF increase, must be that i dont have the rofs in mind

You use BC, then hold the fire button in flight, and Talon (or any other gun, for that matter) fires upon arrival. Then, without releasing fire button, use PD, and Talon again fires immediately afterwards.

In the videos, I didn't test RoF increase, but rather the mechanic that allows to just hold the trigger button, without repeatedly clicking, and shoot any non-full-auto weapon each time when the character's animation changes (which allows geth to cheat).

You can even do that with Claymore, though then you'll still have to reload.

Update: some more tests. Tactical Cloak doesn't constitute an "animation change" (though light melee cloak of volus does).

I'm sure you have the numbers to confirm this or otherwise, but it always *seems* to me that the BW is the same, namely that the auto fire rate is slower than the max single shot rate.

I played with my scimitar cryo sol ysterdayn and lots of fire with animation yeah. But all you do is somewhat reaching the Rof of the scimitar when u click it :)

So Loony, is there some setup where u actually gained something ?
(What the language in your vids ? :))

Russian.

The most obvious gain is for Slayer, as shown in the video. He gets two free shots with the BC/PD combo. Volus Vanguard can probably do a similar thing with Charge/Biotic Orbs.

Also tested Krysae with Sinful, found it convenient to hold the fire button while sniping, then use some power on the enemy in the scope, and then Krysae immediately fires. The Valiant probably works the same way.
