I have always presumed that the calendar runs from Month 1 Wintermarch to Month 12 Haring.    All the events in the novels Asunder and Masked Empire are meant to take place in 9:40 as is Cassandra's interrogation of Varric.    It is because she and Leliana are travelling back to the Conclave with Varric that you have to assume they avoided being blown up.    So I've always assumed Inquisition started at the beginning of 9:41 in Wintermarch or at the latest the beginning of Guardian.    However, when we find Fiona in the dungeon in Recliffe and Dorian asks the date, she says 9:42 Havestmere, which is the 10th month and Dorian says we have skipped for exactly a year from when we went to the Castle.    So does that mean it took us around 9 months to get to that point?

Just trying to get my head around the timescales involved.    If it took us that long to get to Redcliffe Castle, then I assume it would take us at least another year, possibly more to reach the end of the main game.   Then it is 2 years until the Exalted Council.    Is it actually confirmed this takes place around the end of 9:44?

I don't think too much about the timescale in Dragon Age.

Honestly completing DAI in a year is just not possible , you travel around , you rebuild Skyhold ,forts , bridges .You also dismantle some conspiracies happening in other countries .etc...

Then you're told you spend 2 years just mingling with the high society.

I just headcanon the fight against Cory took most of those three years .
