Anyone else want da4 to return to non class specification? In dao I was able to dual wield long swords, wear plate armor and use magic. I also would like the tossed aside class specializations and magic abilities to return and not be stuck with this watered down magic tree we had in dai.

I want my heal ability back you bastards, I needs it. Being a mage preferred player I don't want to be stuck playing a way in which I was with dai. Dao did it best and da4 needs to reintroduce a lot of stuff from dao and add even greater magical diversity. I mean we're going to tevinter, it's going to be 99% mages and then 1% non magic users who will be and are the laughing stock.

Dais mage character was disappointing, the amount of magic abilities at my disposal while sufficient was poor and overly lacking. Armor wasn't a big deal but certain armors were perfect for my inquisitor due to stats but because he was an elf and a mage he was apparently too stupid to wear it. Don't get me wrong the game was great but when it comes to magic you simply cannot limit it. It's MAGIC. You hold no power over it, you can't just go hmm mages have too much power soooo less abilities seems like the right direction. No. Stop. Idiots. The way I see it mages were neutered in dai, so hopefully in Dragon age: Imperium(that's what I'm calling da4 until an official name pops up) they correct this crime.

What did we mages ever do to you anyways? Taking away our magic's and what not. Sheesh

There were restrictions in Origins; you could only wear plate armour if you took the Arcane Warrior spec, which I always did because of the flexibility with regard to armour and weapons.    I didn't feel Knight Enchanter was really anything like it, despite what Solas says, but it would appear that is the direction they are going with that one, since Cillian, an Arcane Warrior, still seems restricted in weapons and armour, although he has a more diverse spell tree, including some of those from Knight Enchanter.

I would welcome a return to the diversity of DAO for all the classes, not just mage.    I'd like some of the specialisations back that we had in DAO and DAA as well.   I'd also like a return to having two specialisations and not having them restricted to finding components that may only be found in certain areas that you haven't even got to.   It was frustrating when all the companions had their specialisation and I was still trying to find what I needed some six levels later.   At least they gave us the opportunity to reassign our stats once we had.

Strangely enough I didn't find not having heal ability a big problem, particularly once I had increased my flask quota to 12.   So long as you could keep people on their feet in the battle, they healed back to maximum straight after, and it was possible to take revive which helped in that respect.    I preferred the system in Origins because it seemed more realistic for people to pick up injuries that needed to be dealt with before healing would be fully effective and people didn't automatically get their health back, which is why the spirit healer was such a useful class, but I guess more people had complained about this than like it, so they simplified things in subsequent games.

Drop classes. They are an abomination anyway.

^ They're not going to drop classes because one of those classes is part of the lore. That is, unless everyone has access to magic, and I don't see a big change happening like that until the climax of a game.

^I know, but it would be cool to play a character coming into magic and refusing training =). Perfect for all those who are butthurt for not the having murder knife and whatnot.

It would be nice, But I doubt it's ever gonna happen.  "Streamline" seems to be the name of the game.

I agree, I would very much like to see the return of DAO style. Adding stat point would give you a change to determine what kind of character you want to make. Oh yes, and blood magic needs to return.

No thanks. The last thing I would want is to go back to DAO's rogues.
