Whats' with the avatar and name/Alias swap Oni?
Oni 'was a brand by itself, that I miss already.
Then there is OniGanon, the author of Gavorn 'Tricks in the resource library. Any relation?

Or is it an indication that u've gone cheap on a $2/ripped PC license ,and also pug the mustard platform nowadays?

I played a few Gold matched with soldiers using my Claymore IV.

All of them against Geth and Reapers.

First of all, the tip many gave about "apply to the forehead and profit" might work but it's not efficient. Starting with the fact that it should be: "Apply to the critical spot and profit", like the yellow bubbles from the Ravager. One hit in there with AR from point blank kills it on Gold, which is great, but it needs to be point blank.

The other thing about that tip is that it's slow. I know how to reload cancel but as my Claymore is pretty damn heavy, power cancelling doesn't work well as the cds are too high.

I've seen Invaderone using a Claymore X on a HI and it was much faster as he used a lot of power reload cancelling.

However with many kits it's not possible to do that: KSol without carnage. You can't roll, your melee is not the fastest one, so I don't know many ways to reload cancel or reload hide.

Would anyone here have specific tips to make the Claymore faster? Sorry if I missed that but I don't remember seeing it in this thread.

You can use grenades to reload hide, and after running out of them, you can still use the grenade button to reload cancel. I'm up for some Claymore action this weekend, and if any more questions come up I can answer them.

Good to know XAN, let's do this.

The boombox has the same effect than Sildenafil, for veterans with rheumatic fingers. It compensates for a lot of things (old age, ego, ...)

Why press the button 17 times or hold and wait the trigger 6s if you can learn to wait and aim with once?

Of course sliding a PC mouse with the boombox is much easier than timing your analog stick release for the console. Which means you have to recalibrate part of your motoric skills with each different controller.

probably getting to know the ideal distance (spread dilution) is a good step after reload cancel.

but also means that you cannot run into a spawn point blank anymore without situational awareness with an all or nothing shot.

Hmm,... don't know what you mean,...

Every Power with "Rate of Fire" effect, like 'Hunter Mode' / 'Devastator Mode' do increase the Reload Animation, too.

And Adrenalin Rush, which "instant refills" by activation will let you double shoot.

Nice, I'll try that. Even best as this should be fast (no animation).

Aiming is a bit annoying on a controller, mainly a new one. I'm slowly getting used to it.

I wasn't aware that AR refilled your clip. Good to know!!

I also didn't know that DM and HM decrease reload time. I always thought Fire Rate stupid on 1 clip weapons, but now it makes sense.

Raider Fat Turian: Be glorious and fat . Note that if you have no AP or Drill Ammo available just use whatever ammo you like and the high velocity barrel.

walk or run up to things because you are a fat tanky turian (adrenaline mods recommended if you have it)

Apply shotgun to things

Things all die

Go find more things to kill

Prox-mine is for debuffing the big armor bosses and not a primary damage dealer

CS can knock down the occasional mook if it comes close while you're reloading or low on ammo, but it can be skipped entirely since it's kind of a gimmicky power and not as useful as a debuff anyway IMO.

Note that if you dislike being a fat glorious no dodge for some unfathomable reason you can also do the same build with the Quarian Marksman.

I can safely say that even at level I or II, which is where it's at on my 60 hour old PS3 manifest, the Raider hits like a goddamn truck, whereas I find low level claymores to be underwhelming.

The AT-12 Raider comes with an added bonus, if it's laggy enough you'll get three shots off-host (in fact I am way more used to the three shot raider than the two shot since I don't often host), and from experience I find it's not a very susceptible gun to failed hit detection, so most of the time all three of those shots will land and do damage.

Nice. I've never really used the Raider before.  Need to try this build out this weekend, it sounds pretty kickass.

Adrenalin Rush (make sure not to spec in duration) is really great combined with the Clay more.

And if you really need a third shot, throw a Thermal Clip.

Claymore ... even MORE deadly when fired on full auto

I think I specced it for duration, but I still have other 2 kits with AR. And I'm promoting like crazy so no issue here.

The thermal clip is nice but needs to be used wisely as you only have 6 chances to use it in a match.

[A curious side note is that I was playing last week when I noticed that I had 6 of each consumable and got surprised. I didn't even see that last card coming in that maxed them out lol

I thought it'd take longer to get 6/6/6/6.]

This kit really runs out of ammo very fast (AR just reload - no free ammo here). This and the fact that I use the Grenade Build, this is my most Thermal Clip consuming character.

You can reload cancel as a krogan easily enough. Just shoot, reload and when you see the clip being popped and the audio cue of ejected round, just press dodge or X. Get your timings right and you can fire the claymore quite fast enough. Also try the at raider, which gets a bonus clip off host and does big damage. You can just spam all 3 shots in one go with it and its very good with infiltrators but works great on soldiers as well due to AR.

The wraith is a good option as well since it's really light and packs a punch. It's best used with power dependent classes but if cooldowns aren't an issue, go for the highlord.

Rare and up shotguns are all pretty good for the most part.  Eviscerator is ok for an uncommon.

Claymore is the pinnacle of weapon balance, all things considered.

Why should I get a PC? Is the reload time faster on PC? I don't think it is.

Something that hasn't been recommended to you yet (I think), you can also try a Cryo Soldier build, and use Concussive Shot to either reload hide or reload cancel. If the Claymore shot didn't kill the target, CS will finish it.

Cryo soldier would be putting Cryo Ammo? I did that already and found out very annoying that the enemies used to fall on the ground with 1 or 2 bars of life without being able to melee them dead.

CS is the solution for that, thanks :)

Cryo soldier would be any kit with Concussive shot (both vanilla HSols and the TSol iirc) in which you use Cryo Ammo and spec into 5a and 6b evos in CS. That combination makes massive damage and DoT to organics, and more than decent damage to synthetics, plus the stagger.

No nades? Is there a Kalence build somewhere? Should I go for offensive power during AR and give up the 100% shields?

Yes, this is what I was going to say.  On console, dodgeless kits are by far the easiest to reload cancel.  The only caveat is that if you're anywhere near cover, you may want to press backward when you're hitting the omni-button so you don't accidentally stick to the cover.

That depends on your own likings. I use this one. I don't take AR because it gets in the way of Concussive shot, and taking the extra power evo to avoid that would mean renouncing to grenades or fitness. I like grenades to deal with clusters of enemies and bosses, and reload hide at times, and taking fitness allows you to use a power amp instead of cyclonics, making CS and 'nades more powerful. Also, that way it plays differently. And to be completely honest, I prefer the Falcon on it and take 6b alliance training passive, but I've tried it with the High Lord (and other guns) and it's also really fun and effective.

This is interesting to say the least. I never thought of a HSol without AR. Since I have 3 of those, I could take one of the HSol and spec it like this. Then I have other 2 kits with AR.
