I like this guy... I really do. Despite him being slow(slower still under the effect of Devastator mode), he's just such a fun kit to play. Pretty much everything about him is unique(one thing I'll give to most of N7s, but to him especially).

And that's where the problem is, for me at least. I find it so hard to drop anything. The easiest to drop would be his passives, but seeing he's primarily a weapon user, you're loosing a far bit of offensive that way.  Therefore, I'm considering dropping fitness on him.

The problem is, with my connection and his lack of dodge, that's a recipe for disaster. Guess I'll have to host it, which means a lot of rage quits :P

Still, that leaves the details of the rest of his abilities. And here is where I'd like some advice from you guys who have more experience. What are your favourite builds for him? Currently, I'm thinking of something like this. But I am opened to suggestions.

First of all, the only weapon a Destroyer can use is Dakka Dakka, a.k.a. the Brophoon.

That being said, for the build, I've tried many of them long ago, as I really wanted to make use of the missile launcher. But the first time I actually tried to skip it and put an AM III on I knew I wasn't ever going to go back. I mean yeah, I'd like to use it too, but it's just so damn more effective without it.

This is what I have been running around with lately: http://kalence.drupa...!23N51383!CF59C

the reason for the nades being specd that way...is, I forget to use them....they are mainly there for those Oh,hell moments

                                                                                                                                                                                   ^^^^ not the real word

Gear is your choice of course....I just found this more useful because of the speed penalty from DM..  Actually, I have been running the Phaeston a few times...devastating results    .....Warp rounds chewed thru the collectors the other night, which is why I recommended them..normally I would use Incid. ammo for fire splosions from the missiles.

I find that the most effective build is 60666 (but not necessarily the most fun). I have tried HML a few times, but it never convinced me in terms of efficiency. I don't like not using it since it's a unique power, so I'm thinking about trying a 4/4 split with the grenades next time.

I would not skip the passives, the guy is a weapon platform. About the weapons, I use a duo composed of Venom and PPR (one to stagger, one for dps). The Typhoon looks more badass but the Destroyer is the best kit for the PPR with his clip size bonus, and I already use the Typhoon on the Tsol anyway.

The problem with skipping fitness is that then I would need a cyclonic... which means not using an adrenaline module. And I really want an adrenaline module on my Destroyer.

TL;DR here is my build : http://kalence.drupa...Z51314!E.DAGG

The way I run my destroyer is as follows (sorry I can't get the kalence to link)

Devastator Mode: No choice 3 then shield recharge, magazine size, damage

Hawk Missile: Pass

Multi-frag: Obligatory 3 then radius, extra grenades, damage

T5-V Battlesuit: First set 3 then weapon damage, toss up (right now I have headshots I think its been awhile since I last played) and weapon damage.

Fitness: Pour on the health baby!

Weapon: Valkyrie with stabilizer/ extended mag (I alternate here) and either extended barrel (with AP ammo) or heavy barrel with incendiary

Gear: APIV, AR Ramp III, Cyclonics IV, Warfighter Package V

My thoughts on why: I play the destroyer as hell fire support. Fast moving characters need a gap? Blast away the valkyrie is a much under appreciated gun in my opinion. Swarmed? Frag out. Because I play come at me/look over here style I get hit a lot and the extra health is nice. Couple that with never seeming to get a lock for the hawk and I just got tired of it and said grenades are good enough. No geth scanner because I hate using it. Yes it's good, but it violates the flavor feel I want for this character. I know the destroyer's slow speed especially with DM on is annoying but it hasn't hampered any objectives yet as the drone crawls anyhow, devices don't need everyone on them and I can still pick a few up, targets are what destroyers love, and pizza deliveries usually have someone who knows how to run take over. Fast moving sync killers between waves aren't an issue surprisingly as this build staggers praetorians, knocks banshees out of teleport, and murders phantoms.

This build is my favorite on him. I don't like DM on him, anymore, and ever since I stopped speccing him with it he has gotten much funner and more reliable for me.

Has anyone ever used all of the shield bonus evos before?  I think I tried once or twice...but I respecd because I didnt notice a difference if it helped him survive more or less.

Mass Effect 3 Character Builder | Kalence

Phantoms love the Hawk Missle Launcher

Incendiary PPR Melts basically everything

I've been using this build in terms of powers for a long time

I don't use Grenades much with him but they do good crowd control work

I use hawk missile launcher on him and no MFG because I'm a rebel who likes to keep enemies dancing.

No fitness or GTFO

Seriously, you don't need it. He has 3 unique powers, and I don't like skipping unique powers. Taking the shield bonus in DM isn't ideal since that damage is juicy, but it allows you to run AMIII for speed and avoid cyclonics. Besides, if you can survive with basic human kits, you can survive with this guy, as he almost has double their shields even without fitness or cyclonics. You can use literally whatever you want as gear. I'm spoiled by Geth Scanner, and DM HUD overwrites Geth Scanner so you shouldn't get a headache. 2 nades is enough of you need panic stagger from scary phantoms. Venom for when you're a little more prepared. Scorpion or GPS are also good secondaries, but since weight literally means nothing with this guy, I went with a big boomstick.

If I'm not playing Platinum or Mgamerz lobby, I actually prefer to spec out of I win nades. Destroyer to me is all about playing the weapon with style & 100% stagger resistance.

Weapons - Typhoon + Piranha. You are a walking turret and these two weapons are fantastic for that role. Failing that, any weapon that can lay down a ton of fire in a small period of time. More dakka is the golden rule for this guy. Weight is irrelevant on the Destroyer so go all-out.

Gear - I typically run with incendiary or armor piercing, AR or shotgun damage and cyclonic modulators and Shield booster to help make up for low agility and help to safely lay down fire for longer periods. That said, it boils down to personal preference for whether or not you want more defense or more shooty for your shooty. Warfighter or shock trooper are also excellent choices.

Powers - I max out all three.

Devastator mode - Weapon accuracy, magazine size and max shields. Automatic shield recharge delay has never really made a huge difference for me, rate of fire is redundant with the weapons I use and damage boost once again boils down to whether you want more offense or defense.

Hawk missiles - Shield penalty, refire time and hydra missiles. These things are basically automated concussive shots that help to stagger and line up shots. If they're your main source of damage then it's time to use a different gun.

Multi-frag - Force & damage, max grenades and grenade count. Radius and the other force & damage options have always been redundant to me. I press R2 and everything in front of me just...vanishes.

Passives are another case of personal preference. Just don't waste points on melee or weight capacity.

I can take this into any match on any difficulty against any faction on any map with no trouble except for the occasional Banshee who becomes infatuated with my manly physique, assertive voice and huge weapon. It's kinda hard to keep the ladies away with my iron body, if you catch my meaning...

Lose the frags. The Hawks are invaluable for shutting down Phantoms. And the Destroyer doesn't get staggered anyway (something the Juggy should be jealous of).

Lose MFGs? Good one...

@OP- if you want all of his powers maxed (as you should), you could do worse than the 66644 build; missing 2 ranks of passives is a pretty negligible difference, and you have enough fitness that you can easily roll with Adrenaline Mod (which is sort of a must with him) instead of Cyclonics, and still be fairly beefy.

I'm not a fan of the Hawk Missile Launcher, mostly because the force of them isn't high enough to stagger Phantoms on Gold/Plat and I can keep them dancing for me without it.

Anything lesser than Phantoms is just going to die in the hailstorm of bullets that is the Brophoon.

I usually run him something like this:

http://kalence.drupa...53X51314!A8.AGO

With 1.12 second Shield Recharge on 1750 Shields, he can shrug off random shots and keep dakka-ing.  I take Rate of Fire instead of Mag Capacity because 15 more rounds in a 200 round clip isn't really much at all.  I'd rather deliver the entire contents that much faster.

With Hydra Missiles, I can scrub it up with reduced situational awareness since Husks and Swarmers never even get close.  And I will go out of my way to grab the pizza, even if it means turning off Devastator Mode to get there, pick it up, then turn DM back on again.

That said, I am inclined to try a 6/6/6/x/x build after reading this.  Multi-frag is a unique ability after all.

Ah yes, the dreaded turtle!

i love that turtle, it's always fun smacking enemies with his melee, if you want to max out all his powers than why not do the 6/6/6/6/6 glitch? jk

I have noticed a trend with regards to the grenades...People either go all in specing up to the 6th evo ..or they skip them entirely  ...No half & halves...

Me, I spec them up to the point where they will stagger a spawn of mooks that I am chopping down with the typhoon if I have to...but with the missiles and typhoon rolling..I usually forget I even have them.....

That and his slow speed ... you will always lose filling up on grenades to a Drell

j/k, I don't like grenades in this game a lot. I know people wreck **** with them, but not my preferred playstyle.

Nobody has mentioned the two-shot executioner yet? :)

Adrenaline mod 3 is mandatory for me; I find he needs the speed to relocate. His stagger resistance is an amazing perk, but without proper cover and RHA, it will kill you. Getting to the right places fast is key IMO.

I go back and forth between two specs, alternating HML and the Grenades.

First spec is geared for the PPR, but works with all bullet hoses, particularly ramp-up weapons. Once you get used to the missiles, they actually help in getting headshots, since they either stagger or make mooks dodge, and you don't have to stop shooting. Listen to the noise of the missiles arming, they give a clue that something is approaching - particularly useful versus geths. I equip the 2-shot executioner because it is unique, and deploy it while the PPR is recharging.

Second spec is for small magazine, no ramp-up weapons. The Piranha is my favourite gun with this setup, it just dismantles bosses. Grenades for when you inevitably aquire tunnel vision and get surrounded by mooks: stagger and escape. I kept the executioner in the build for flavour, but you can be hip and put in eg a locust, and use it to headshot all the mooks, then whip the piranha out for the big game.

It's not the only kit that can make any weapon shine, but it can do so without caring for cooldowns, so when I don't feel like worrying about loadout, weight, or pressing too many buttons, I take him out.

Final thought: you are not married to either DM or the missiles. Devices come up? Disable both for extra speed and durability. Large map and need to relocate? Take DM down and sprint off.
