I got inspired by someone on this Forum to make this topic I myself have nothing but i bet you guys have some really nice stuff that Bioware could use in their next game

And let's hope that Bioware click this topic and read the posts that you make and get inspired by some of the good ideas that you guys have

I don't think BioWare are around the forums much these days, unless they're lurking really hard, but anyway ...

1. I want the if>then Tactics system from DAO and DA2 back, please. The customizable AI was pretty much perfect in DA2, and now it's gone :( . The absence of this is the one serious flaw in DAI, as far as I'm concerned.

2. Assuming we're getting a new protagonist, I really, really want race selection back. I coped with human-only protagonist in DA2, but having it back for DAI made me realize how much I missed it while it was gone. And I want to keep all the current races! No cutting dwarves or qunari just because they're not as popular as humans and elves!

3. I want to visit Seheron. I mean, we seem to be going north, and given the map-stabbing it seems that we'll be seeing Tevinter, but I find Seheron in particular fascinating and want to go there and mess around with all the local factions.

4. While the areas could maybe be a bit smaller and we could have slightly fewer of them, I don't want the exploration element removed altogether. DAI is the first BioWare game to include large wilderness areas since the first Baldur's Gate, and I don't want it to go away. They need to refine this aspect of the game rather than getting rid of it.

5. I want better implementation of the tactical camera. Even after patching, it doesn't really get up high enough to allow you to see the whole battlefield in most fights, rendering it useless to me.

6. I want better PC UI and controls (and console UI and controls, I guess, but the PC interface is the one I have to use.)

7. We need more ruthless, mean and downright evil options for the protagonist. I can see why the Inquisitor was restricted by their office (Cassandra, Josie and Cullen wouldn't put up with too much random murderknifing) but I'd very much like to see a return to murder and mayhem for DA4.

8. I missed the ability to be as hilariously inappropriate as Purple!Hawke. ("At least things can't get worse! Today, anyway. I mean, it's pretty late ...")

9. More dwarf lore and dwarf characters.

10. Scout Harding as a companion!

11.  Speaking of which: dwarf romance. (BioWare, pls. I have been so patient.)

12. And while I'm on that subject, at least six romances that aren't racegated: two straight, two bi/pan and two gay so everyone has at least two choices. I don't actuall think we need the gated 'extras' like in DAI, although if they want to throw more in that would also be fine.

13. Bring back mounts. Give us even wackier things to ride on. Let us name them. (My nuggalope is Ser Nuggington, Arl of Nugsleigh, but only in my heart.)

... and I could probably keep going all day with stuff I want to see and learn about the world (what is a Fex? Will we ever know?) but that seems like enough to be getting on with.

Good topic. I'm gonna quote myself here and cut for similar topics in the past.

  • I dug out DA2 after finishing my second DA:I playthough, and I am still amazed how underrated DA2 is. If Bioware are to make any adjustments, I'm hoping for a tiny step back towards DA2. Make it personal again. I loved the way Hawke sort of dragged his/her feet through the story. Saving the world is boring.

  • More background history choices for the protagonist. The Amell family history was engaging. Combining this with Origins stories would be awesome.

  • Areas you can go if you just want a quick fight, like the gangs of Kirkwall.

  • Deeper companion stories. Make them story arcs.

  • Companions needs to be able to push me up rocks.

  • If we get a new organization capable of building massive bridges, please let it be able to supply a ladder every now and then. Also, I'm saving the world, and still I'm picking herbs like mad. I should have people to do that.

  • DA:I was awfully serious, a few laughs would be good.

  • Ambient sound and dialog needs work. Exploring Athkatla remain the high point of the Bioware catalog. Take notes from that, or play some GTAIV - that is how a city should sound and feel. DA:I is doing it right, it just needs more and better.

  • Proper mass combat scenes. Adamant Fortress came close, but Denerim was better.

  • Gameplay, companion tactics and the tactical camera still needs work. The final fight in Descent was just plain awkward.

  • Better villains. Samson/Calpernia, Loghain and the Arishok are the best villains so far. Corypheus was a bit weak, and the archdemon just lame.

  • A more responsive world. The cut counterattack on Crestwood from the pre-alpha footage is an excellent example.

1. Better hair.

2. No more pointless busywork a la bottles, astrarium, landmarks, mosaic pieces, shards.

3. Male x male romance that ends in a '' happily ever after. ''

4. More freedom in dialogue choices (BW shouldn't force any opinion on the PC).

5. Better armor design.

6. Seheron.

7. More companion-related quests to replace all the sidequests that were just filling.

Those came up from the top of my head.

Would love to see the different factions of the ancient elves, i.e.: Elgar'nan worshippers etc. I want these elves to be deadly mysterious with abilities we haven't seen in game yet! It makes sense when these people have been in hiding or euthanera for millennia , Ancient Elvhenan weapons and armours too. (So Exciting) The re-emergence of the Titans, their agents and its effects on Thedas. A slave revolt that topples Tevinter (die slavers) and to fight and defeat the Qunari, knocking the complacent humans off the top of the food chain. Some real conflict that cant be resolved by fetch quests - real heart break and devastation. Get the next game (DA5) to cover the Warden factions War and the return of the Griffons. And the reveal that Solas isn't such a sympathetic character but another Tyranical Evanuris after all if not the evil trickster god of Misfortune the Dalish think he is.

I would like them to go back to the dark story type like in origins and DA2. Inquisition had a very boring story imo and I missed that thrilling dark story with darkspawn.

And I would like to see interesting and deep companions like in origins and romances done like in Inquisition, cause I thought they were well done there.

1. A bisexual female elf archer or mage so the PC elf can romance her.

2.Let us choose what we want in our group 3 rogues/mage,three fighters mage or 4 mages.

3. Better combat control-got tired of my fighter hitting thin air in my Dwarf test game.

4.Better dialog on the PC wheel. No more stupid answers or questions. Let's drop the "Exactly"..

5.Less none important "fetch me" quest. The hunger pains, out in the elements and breathing medication was excellent and fun side quest-winning of the hearts and minds..

6. Why not strong magic that kills the first time instead of requiring several hits with fire and ice?

7.No more mage/Templar wars.

8.Easier romance like DA:O.

Not Advisor, never again. Better romances, I don't want to feel like I am sexual harrassing my employers, I want love to replace the fact that I haven't a boyfriend, why the romances can't be more real?, after all is because of the romances Bioware is popular. And more importance to the player.

They were the useless thing in the world and yet they get a lot of recognition after YOU defeat Corypheous, they just stand there looking pretty, Leliana is the worst spymaster of the world, Josephine gives a lot of credit because she just uses your reputation (did you see Josephine bringing you money to buy things like armor/weapon from the nobles she always mention, no) and the men of Cullen... Well.. I always seen his soldiers dead so he does a terrible work training, and you defeat Corypheous alone.

You saved the world and practically you don't care, you should even can reclaim being divine, emperor, king, queen, etc

You saved the world and no one gives a sh*t about it, were are your statues?, and pics?, you should be signing autographs

I want be the f*cking ruler of the world and turn it into chaos, this was the option you should have in Trespasser, why just being a slave or disband?, why you can stand and attack the other countries, they can't just threat the Inquisition and still being a live, we need to cut their heads.

I want tactics settings back, most of all. I miss fiddling with my companions AI.

Otherwise, I think my list of "would NOT want to see" is larger.

I'm going to echo the if>then tactics from DA:O.

I'm lazy and I love making a working AI-system for my companions, so that I never ever have to touch strategy and tactics ever again :V

Better tactics would be nice.  I also would like to see Antiva and Rivain but it seems that we are headed to Tevinter

Go with either of these, but not both:

- Realtime action combat

- Tactical combat

Also,

- Better combat animations

- Better combat animations

- Better combat animations

- Better combat mechanics that make sense depending on the gameplay direction you take (E.G. Action combat => Why this basic attack mechanic??)

- Better combat math

- Better tooltips for abilities that reflect what the ability actually does

- Better leveling system with scaling that actually makes sense

- Better skill trees

- Better character balance

- Better movement system where animation gets less priority

- Faster movement

- Better AI design. A minimum of 5+ patterns for each enemy. Most wildlife enemies only have <2-3 patterns

- Stop reskinning enemies

- Better party AI tactics

- Better controls (Do I really need a dedicated hotkey on a mouse toggle, wtf?)

Also,

- Proper map design. Stop this open world BS with 8192x8192m² empty maps

- Proper map design. Create a world that is worth to explore. Everything in the map should have a reason to be. Otherwise the incentive to explore is reduced.

- Proper map design. The map design MUST reflect and be designed with combat in mind. Large maps with no cover = bad design. Small corridors where you don't have enough space to cover/dodge with combat roll/evade = bad design. Most multiplayer maps are **** for this reason.

That should be enough for me.

-The inquisitor as protagonist

-Side quests that have dialogue, story, choices, companion input and so on. Not ALL of them have to have substance, I don't mind if the "fetch me 12 potions" quests are still there, just add some good ones too and don't FORCE me to do any of them with a power requirements/similar system. Make them fun and/or with good unique rewards so I WANT to do them.

-Better hairstyles

-No more EU characters shoehorned in for fanservice and then not given any development in the actual game(Celine/Briala/Gaspard/Fiona)

-Bring back the ability to use ALL your learned abilities in combat, the ability to switch weapons in combat, the ability to set custom tactics

-I wish they would use many of the same assets they made for DA:I so they can focus more resources on storytelling, character building, quests and sidequests, etc...Rather than doing a complete rehaul with every game.

-This is going to anger people but: a linear story. The ability to do the quests in any order makes for a weaker story and doesn't really add anything (especially when the difficulty/level of the areas encourages doing them in a specific order anyway). I would rather have a really well developed story where each part builds on to the last and your choices have a greater impact rather than trying to put a mention of a choice from each section into each other section in every possible order and those mentions getting watered down or cut. The structure BioWare has traditionally gone with is really restrictive to storytelling IMO since those parts can't affect each other too much because you don't know which the player will do first. You end up with "gather forces/power/information" or "stop self contained evil action in A, B, and C." If they had a set order the way a book or movie does then it would give so much more freedom in the kind of story they could do and potentially be much more impactful. Each part could flow into the next rather than being separate self contained modules.

Are we going to take bets on when this thread gets derailed and turned into an Inquis/New PC for DA4 thread?

I though Inquisition did a lot right, but a lot wrong.

So, what i want is:

- Less  of the gather things mini quests. The shards were a nice mechanic until i'd done it 4 times. Then it just became a pain.

- More story focused. So many "side-quests" in Inquisition could have been intertwined with the story, but instead stand alone. If exploring Dirthamen's temple gave me something extra in the story, i'd have enjoyed it more.

- Romance more akin to DA Origins. I thought all of the romances in DAI were great, but i knew when everything would happen. I really enjoyed the unpredictability in DA: Origins, it took me forever to stop Alistair falling for my character.

- The story of that game to finish in that game. It's getting on my pip, thinking my Hawke would stop the Mage Templar war, that my Inquisitor would stop Solas, only for said character baggage to be pushed onto the next character with no connection to it. I think it would make each Hero's story much stronger if they actually finished it.

- Gifts- I enjoyed giving the personal gifts to my companions, it was a nice touch.

- If more areas, make them all important to the story. Origins had fewer places, but they were all integral to the story. I can't help but feel exploring places in DAI is just a waste of time once you've got everything from there (the lore, i mean). I'd've loved to be able to explore more of the Forest in the first one because i always ran into stuff that affects my characters story...it never felt like that for the Inquisitor.

There's more, but i will stop here

- Better hairstyles, that don't look like wigs.

- Fully cinematic cutscene for every conversation.

- This is an umpopular opinion, but fixed human protagonist. The Inquisitor was an bland character, in part due to the wide variety of backgrounds. An fixed and more detailed origin could help the new protagonist feel more fleshed out and unique.

- Story heavy romances. Other then Solas, Inquisition romances feel rather unimportant and incosequential.

- Grey warden civil war. Hopefully with news about the HoF journey.

- Taking part in an all out war with Tevinter and the Qunari.

- Less empty wilderness maps and smaller and more detailed city maps.

- Less herb gathering

- Proper resolution to Solas story arc

- More dark themes. This is a medieval story, not a disney movie. Take Witcher 3 for reference.

- Minimized fetch quests as much as you can BW, and focus on story oriented side quests. Like in ME1

- Storylines that are properly explained without needing to read a novel or comic to understand them

- Option to discuss opinions with your companions without you ending as an agreeable tool or the companion hating your guts for daring to disagree.

What's the deal with better hair there are a lot of you guys who wants better hair/styles i can agree with the bad haircut from Sera but the rest what is so bad about it ?

There is even a guy that left because off the bad hair he found a better game
