I have long given up hope for the return of an Origins-level variety of equipment (i.e. DW and Archer Warriors, rogues that wield 2H weapons or shields, etc.), but I would like to see some weapon types return, or to include some new ones. I would like a protagonist that can use a crossbow. And, even though I have yet to have a canon mage, please bring back some of the buffs and debuffs. If I had to choose one mage build to play, I would like a Spirit Healer that splits their spells between Creation and Entropy.

My main wishlist for the next games includes the return of the Tactics system, and to have the majority of quests be relevant, or at least cinematic. And the return of some of the specializations. It doesn't affect other gamers as much, but I have this personal rule of creating an official protagonist for each game, and then never deviating from it for future playthroughs. In one of the next couple of Dragon Age games, I want to have a canon, dual-wielding, Qunari Artificer with tiny daggers (I know, I should have done it this time, but, by golly, I will not put off Templar a third time!).

This last request might be a bit extreme, but I would like a very specific set of circumstances for the Solas showdown. Whether it is in Dragon Age 4 or 5, I would like a confrontation where you either ally with Solas (essentially becoming a villain for the next game; might be especially fun as a Dalish) or refuse to join him (resulting in said protagonist's unavoidable death; heroically falling to Solas' superior might, of course).

Oh darn! I almost forgot. My absolute, number one priority: RACE SELECTION (built from the ground-up, please)!

I'm just going to put this under a tag, because it got long.
Spoiler

And I second every plot suggestion in the whole thread. I'm torn on Solas being the main villain plot the entire game like Cory or wanting him to be tied up (narratively!) by mid game so we can focus on a war with titans/Wardens/Qun. Or not being able to find the darn elf the entire game, focusing on all the other stuff, and having an epic finale with Solas.

Here's another one

1) when creating packs of enemies try to change up the abilities that duplicate classes have.  Now i would like this implemented in DA4 if possible but for an example i'm going to use a DA3 encounter.  I was clearing a fort out in Western Approach, the one that Stroud and Hawke help you with. There were 3-4 mages there and once the fight started after 2-3 seconds ALL the enemy mages placed an ice trap on the ground.  I noticed that this "cut-and-paste" mob pack design was in SWTOR too.  The most memorable ones that i saw in SWTOR was on Makeb the first expansion world.  I would pull a pack of 5  mobs and all of them would shoot 2 darts each.  So on me or my companion (whoever aggro'd the pack first) we would have a whole row of 10 dots.  Now i'm not complaining because that situation in SWTOR was dangerous, although the one in DAI would have been had i not avoided all the ice traps.  But to me approaching a pack and seeing them all cast the same exact spell at the same time is a bit immersion breaking...i dont know how to describe it.

So my suggestion would be to make the packs more varied.  That pack of 3-4 mages that i mentioned in the fort? make one a lightning mage, make one a fire mage and make the other two a frost mage or something like that.  Now you have a whole variety of enemies coming at you, kinda like a Rift where sometimes it spits out a variety of demon types.  Now you may have to prioritize...do you and your companions focus fire or CC+kill this one mob first and so on.

In case I never said anything yet:

1. Cutscenes again! I don't like how the camera just zooms in when talking to NPC's in DAI, I love the cutscenes a lot more like the past games.

2. Auto Attack button on PC, the same way it was in DAO/DA2. I hate how it is in DAI.

3. More than 8 skills, VERY annoying, I would love it to be increased. At least doubled.

4. Healing Mage, I don't like how they removed it. Seems like they removed part of the lore. Bring this back.

1.More back story like in DA:O in the good days. DA:I didn't had it . it felt like you playing the same character who look different.
2.Hope to see previous companions from DA:O/A and DA2.
3.Many will not agree with me but I want to see the hero of ferelden again like we saw Hawke in DA:I.
4.More romance options than before.
5.There was choices we made in the previous games that didn't affect anything. I want to see how they did affect in the end.
6.Many might not know this but the choices in the keep of DA:I are still locked. I want it to be completely open so I could change somethings.

What do you think ?

You can open up those options by turning on spoilers in the DAK under -->Profile -->Settings --> show Spoilers. This will unlock all the choices allowing you to create a variety or world states.

1. A tactics system like DA2.

2. Combat like DA2 (more slots, faster combat, etc, etc)

3. Cut out the MMO elements (fetch quests)

4. A better loot system. I shouldn't have to farm in a SP game.

5. The ability to play my character as I want. In other words, if I want to be an a-hole I should be allowed too.

6. No more ridiculous restrictions on weapons; forcing me to choose between bow and dagger for rouges, or 2 hander -vs- sword and board for warriors. In fact, my warrior should be able to carry and use a bow. Or even a dagger, if I want him too.

7. Stop ignoring previous characters (ME was better at this).

8. And for gods sake, give me a villain that is actually powerful and scary. My first play through I kill Cory at level 16 in under a minute. Hell, bears were harder to kill. That should never happen.

I'd like to see Bioware support a mechanism that allows players to create dungeons/caves and quests, which are discussed, critiqued, and rated on an official website. DA-4 would have a homogeneous capability to download and maintain these player-created add-ons. Obviously, this would call for provision of a "toolbox" that players can use to create content.

Every time I do a play through I lament that the game inevitably ends. What I've suggested above would forestall that issue considerably.

Definately Yavana, I know Alistair stabbed her but if you really think a knife wound is enough to take down a witch taught by flemeth then you must be joking. She could be a perfect companion in tevinter.

It didn't look like a knife wound. It looked like a sword wound. We know a witch taught by Flemeth can survive a knife getting stuck into her, but the sword wound as the wiki shows it looks a bit worse than the wound we know Morrigan to have survived sounds.

In no particular order

1-fix the respawning system. Fight a spider/reenter same cave 2 sevonds later sane spider is back (swordcoast) but applies everwhere
2-fix the pokemon go/wander everwhere searching for 10 stages to complete the dragon quest in western approach
3-a camera zoom feature. Even on ultra enemy details are not great
4-more unique looking items that maybe have unique enchantments
5-stealth gameplay(the unofficial videos had stealth)
6-more dao/da2 monsters/spells/armors/blood mage etc
7-bring back traps and special monster attacks (webs)
8-introduce swimming-drowning in a puddle is just wrong
9-improve your flashing icon loading screen speed/presentation
10-hair and beards.
11-wouldnt mind more body types-maybe worse case your preset determines body
type
12-easier to determine face slider settings (add a grid overlay or something)
13-more personality/define leaders for interesting side quests such as the bandit keep in the hinterlands. Pathetic that dao outshines you in this area
14-origin backgrounds-works better than skyrim blank slate for this setting
15-snarky hawke. Bring back witty banter missing from dao/da2
16-bring back the epic choices from dao (keep the anvil/ashes/)
17-bring back the murder knife
18-a proving ground tournament/being captured/brothels/red jenny/slavers/thieves/better inns
19-female dwarf companion
20-better ways of not needing a rogue or a certain class to get past an obstacle
21-better quest/dlc explanations of endings-i shouldnt have to ask the community what just happened at the end of descent, how divine choice is influenced. There should be a synopsis in the end. Because you were tough she became divine

I dont know if i feel comfortable associating pokemon go with "fetch quests" the devs might think that since P:GO is so popular they may add in more game mechanics like it lol.  Just call it a fetch quest, everyone hates those :P

On her favour I have to say that she was killed by a character that could be dead, and that WoT 2 left her fate ambiguous.

- Main character who is not the hero of the story. I really like the idea that Inquisitor will have a big role to play in the next game as well. Our new main protagonist could be someone who just works for her - someone who does all the dirty work and never gets any credit for it. That would be fun change of pace from the normal "you are the hero and everyone worships you" kind of thing. Could also allow more natural and down to earth relationship with companions. Being Inquisitor was very interesting because even to your closest companions you were never really just you - you were the Inquisitor, blessed Herald of Andraste first and foremost, whether you wanted to or not. That was really neat, but also why I want the next game to go to completely different direction. So maybe this new protagonist isn't any kind of leader, but rather equal among equals with his companions? That's something Bioware hasn't done for a while.

- If (and when) the Inquisitor returns for the next game, I hope that, even if they are not main player character, when the time comes to confront Solas we can once again control our Inquisitor and decide ourselves what she says and does in that situation. It would be really sweet if there was like some small sequences throughout the game where we play as the Inquisitor, maybe make some big decisions and send out orders to our new protagonist. Something like that anyway. Someone once said that Fen'Harel and Inquisitor will likely be like puppet masters, pulling strings from shadows... until the final battle begins, anyway. I'm really excited for all the new possible scenarios after Trespasser

Both granted. But in World States where she did take that wound it really ought to have killed her. Given that in most World States she would have taken that stab wound I think she couldn't appear in most world states unless Bioware wants to give her facepalm-worthy plot armor.

Well, being centuries old and having a Great Dragon as a roommate, I wouldn't be pissed if she comes back, which is better than having back ridiculous tank Morrigan.

Ridiculous tank Morrigan?

Is that something to do with the shapechanging power? Because Yavana can probably do that too.

I mean that she has literally taken a lot of damage and still stands on her feet, even powerful characters such like Flemeth and Corypheus die with enough damage (revival is a different matter).

Except that you said you wouldn't complain if Yavana had survived an injury worse than any one wound we know Morrigan to have taken. I just watched the scene with Morrigan. The attack didn't look like one that would be immediately lethal, although it's one she would have died from eventually if she hadn't gotten treatment. I think the one Yavana took would have been lethal pretty quickly without said treatment. Either way, if Morrigan's a ridiculous tank, what's Yavana?

I've said "if she comes back" not "if she survived" a little tricky, I know, but there's a difference, If she is brought to the game I don't they handle it as "YOLO, I was lying on the ground and bleeding but got better later" it would be more like "Yes, a dude killed me but I body-jumped to my Dragon and lived through her" In the other hand Morrigan has taken a stab without dying like Anders, and has been crushed against the floor without dying like the Guardian of Mythal.

Is there any reason to think Yavana can do that?

In the other hand Morrigan has taken a stab without dying like Anders, and has been crushed against the floor without dying like the Guardian of Mythal.

I think the part of Anders' body he takes the knife in is near enough the the heart and lungs that he could reasonably have been unable to save himself. Though we don't know because he's clearly not inclined to try. Morrigan on the other hand could conceivably survive long enough through biological hardiness to save herself using magic, and there's no reason she wouldn't. On the other hand I'll have to give you the thing where Morrigan survives the fall after dueling the Red Lyrium Dragon where the Guardian of Her Mother doesn't.
