Race selection with an opening back story for each race.
Open world.
Crafting.
The beautiful clothes/Armour from DA2.
Dark and deep interesting story like in Origins and DA2.
Romances made with lots of dialogue and content like in Origins and Inquisition.
And I would really like the different LI's to make the first move for a change.

Also, was replaying DAO(again XD) and I really liked the way we were allowed to select the backgrounds for our non-mage characters, so I'm definitely hoping it would be brought back in the next DA game.
If the next DA game is open world as well, please keep the auto run, fast travel and the mounts, or I think all our fingers would break trying to run around.

In the next Dragon Age game, I'd love it to be possible to have a character dynamic that is like a blend of DA:Origins and the other two games. For instance, say you are romanced with a character on your party. I would love to have the option to visit that character romantically again and again ( like the way I could in Origins, to have them share romantic moments together, which was completely independent of the plot ) and that the romance is not entirely based on cutscenes/plot, that there still is a element of their relationship that is involved with the plot ( so it doesn't feel entirely like it's dependant of plot to move forward/progress but at the same time the plot influence their relationship in cutscenes or their relationship affects the plot, but in a way that doesn't effect you if you don't choose a romance. So for instance, I'd have like to have been confronted by more gossip/rumours based on my relationship in the Inquisition, by say Orlesian Nobles or the Chantry. I'd also like my romance to have more in depth conversations about my decisions - like they are the ones who I discuss what I plan to do with, my confidante. Also it would be nice if you bring them along and there's more party banter about you both, especially if they are on a lot of missions with you. Perhaps you might even be excluded from side quests because of your romance - maybe you pursue an interspecies romance and that effects missions with the Dalish, or you pursue a relationship within your species and that garners you favour with different sects. Things that could be related to the plot for the love interest like that, that might not effect the plot dramatically if you don't have a romance but have some influence on your play through if you do ) and that there is an element of their interaction that I can determine, by talking to them and revisiting ( for those cold lonely nights at camp). I hope that makes sense...
I'd also love if there was more party banter, and more party interactions. I love the way the Dorian and Bull hook up, and the way Fenris and Isabela do, I think that is fanstastic! It would be great if when you establish a camp or set up bases, that when you are roaming around those bases that you could interact with your party, like the way you can in Skyhold. I think I'd like to see more interactions with the party members, more interactions of their opinions on your actions. I'd like to point out that I think you(Bioware) did a great job of the physical appearance of the characters. I never thought I could fall so much for an egghead but there you go - and it challenges your perceptions of handsome/beautiful... ( it's the person behind the faces we learn to grow fond of, amiright?! The character brought to life and sharing experiences with them )... I think, I feel that the characters look so much more real, or relatable...or flawed? I love that about them, I think it's much better than having a game full of unrealistic perfect beauties doing gritty things in a gritty world... ( although the makeup on the inquistor can look a bit naff... as any makeup artist would tell you: blend...bleeeennnnddd!!! )....
So more natural looking makeup I think. Also better clothes for the protagonist (and hair....better hairstyles....more feminine longer hair options for women, more long hair for guys and nice cuts. Don't give your companions unique hairstyles like Morrigan or Josie or even Leiliana if the Inquisitor, for example, can only have the same hair as the NPC common folk. I want more unique looks for the protagonist that are unique to them and their heritage and less "blank-slate". Think hair like Daenarys or early Cersai from Game of Thrones, or even like the long hairstyles you can get on WoW are nice, like the long braid on Night Elves... I know this is an issues with polycounts and things like that but....pretty please?!).
I loved the mages dresses like what Grand Enchanter Fiona was wearing in DA:I, like the options from DA:O. I did end up wearing the Ancient Elven Armour 99% of the time ( or the dalish keeper armour which is the same thing because it felt realistic for my pro-ancient elf Lavellan, but any Dalish attire would have been nice and it felt odd that I couldn't wear some Dalish casual look while at Skyhold, like I wanted to be an elven apostate hobo...). Yeah it would be nice to have the Inquistor have the option to have an outfit that stands out to them, like Iron Bull wore as a Qunari seemed more appropriate than what the QunInquistior wore in Skyhold. Also for the formal attire, it would have been amazing to have the option to "go shopping" and choose a formal wear outfit. So that if you want to, you can change it. Morrigan got a frilly dress, I want one too! ( and the option to have wore those Orlesian masks at the ball would have been nice too. The Inquisition could have had their own masks. It just would be nice to seem more individuality options for the Inquistor. So it would be nice to see that in the next game. (Not a one size fits all deal, more like a variety of options, some completely independent of race, like the Grand Enchanters Robes, or other unique attire, not like the base wear of Skyhold, and some class specific and some race specific but just more uniqueness for the protagonist. Like the way you can in The Elder Scrolls games....)
I'd also like it if the protagonist was less of a blank slate based on their heritage and more clued in to some things... It really irked me that my Dalish Inquisitor wasn't as "elfy" as I'd have thought her to be... despite her vallaslin, for all of her "cultured" lore knowledge, she may as well have been a city elf or like Sera.... It felt pointless her being Dalish when she barely spoke elven or didn't seem to relate to the Dalish at all ( like not knowing about "The Dirth" etc ). So if there is an option to play as multiple races again, I'd like to see those races be more knowledgable on their heritage. More special options specific only to them, more opportunity to speak in their tongue to members of their race. It'd be nice if there is even a chance to play a side quest or something that relates to each of the races and their background ( more like the prologues of origins rather than the codex options on the war table ). Without that, it felt like I was more like "The Prisoner" in Skyrim, who we know nothing about, rather than the self-proclaimed "proud Dalish" who pretended they'd a past that mattered (when we rarely experienced it).
DA:I is great as a game, in general. I found the gameplay really enjoyable and I liked the pace of the game, my first play through felt very fluid, my second play through felt very strategic (as I knew what I was doing more obviously ), I still haven't found the pace tiring or choppy. I enjoyed the fighting ( although I never used the tactical screen and found this virtually pointless and unnecessary. I found the levelling up fine, but I didn't use the companion orders/tactics settings at all. I enjoyed watching Skyhold change and grow the more you did and found that a nice touch that I wasn't expecting!
TL;DR: I'm sure I can think of more to add, but if there is another dragon age ( which I will be getting as soon as it's released - for as people have said and I agree with, replay value ), I'd love to see more character interaction that is independent of progressing via the main plot, and more character interaction in general, more clothes that are nice (I''ll throw in more hairstyles too here). More race-specific options and less of a blank slate, if there is an option to be multiple races again.

Elves gone extinct after Solas gobbles them all up to power his hate machine.
![]()
In that vein - one of the things I wish to see is the destruction of Solas.
Other than that:
1- cut the MMO crap
2- implement some time progression mechanic (day/night cycle and a calendar)
3- story driven exploration (see no.1)
4- less potential companions (allow resources to be diverted elsewhere)
5- customisable origins (no need for elaborate prologue - just a large selection of background choices to give flavor to your PC - see 'Pillars of Eternity')
6- customisable companions (as in their appearance - just like we were able to do with Hawke - but with better lighting!)
7- Novigrad size/grade Minrathous - a living, breathing, sprawling city we can lose ourselves in
8- better models so my PC doesn't constantly look ready to take a dump
9- a skeleton for males and another for females - for each of the various races available - with the corresponding animations (see no. 8 + no.4 if you lack budget)
10- make the Frostbyte engine mod friendly - if the tools are good and user friendly they could even sell them DLC style - thus another revenue stream coming in
11- better looking elves! Not with those scrawny body they had in DAI (look at W2 +3 for good looking elves)
12- concerning hair - please make it so we don't have to juggle mods around, trying to remember what model uses what slot. Couldn't we simply add more hair to the existing list? (see no. 10)
13- if there's a war table - no more timers - its either an immediate consequence or it launches an actual mission you and/or your companions can participate in
14- a tool to import my favored Inquisitor's sliders in DA4 - for the inevitable cameo (there must be one BW you hear?!
- Solas needs to be squashed by the friend/lover he betrayed)

Silent PC. Leave space for headcanon.
Origins.
Realistic weapon size.
Romances like in DAO.
Alchemy like in TW. Mage outfits like in TW.
Posibility of dying in the end like in DAO/ME2.
Weapons restricted by atributes, not classes (save for staffs).
Spears and flails.
Ruthlessness to make a comeback.

What I want for the next DA :
- I want to see my Inquisitor again, hopefully as the main protagoniste (I know chances for that to happen are low but, anyway)
- I want to see what Solas is up to, and be able to stop him/talk to him with my Inquisitor
- I want to see Dorian again! In Tevinter of course,
- A better choice of armours for the Mages, I think it's too restricted,
- I don't mind about the hair but, I won't complain if it looks better (and longer)
- See if the romance between Solas and Lavellan has the possibility to continue, or/and affect Solas' decision
- See what's up with Iron Bull...
- Even better: Hearing from everyone else from the Inquisition. Being able to meet them would be a must.
- I'd also love to meet Merrill or Zevran. I think it would be interesting to know their positions about the 'elven army' we already know about

Aye.Less open world, and stronger narratives.
Also:
MC is not a Mary Sue, but a Badass Normal.
Companions have their own agendas and only follow you for utilitarian reasons that benefit them.
Friendship/Rivalry system, but with different names, maybe Loyalty/Treason or something.
LIs are only 4, can be romanced by any MC. I'd include 1 female Human, 1 female Elf, 1 male Human and 1 male Dwarf.
NO. MOUNTS.
Either open world cities like in AC or no open world AT ALL.
Sword and Shield style to be a mix between Tank and DPS, not just Tank.
Healers.
Blood Mages.
Arcane Warriors.
Berserkers.
Rangers.
Darker/grittier tone.
Sex scenes like in ME1.
Battles are a bloody, gory mess like in DAO/DA2.
Executions like in DAO.

1. Tevinter setting
2. a cohesive, mature story
3. the fate of the various minor characters/villains I recruited or imprisoned for the Inquisition in DA:I (that probably won't happen, but I'd like to know what becomes of Alexius and Servis for example)
4. Sandal
5. finding out what actually happened with the black city
6. blood magic as a spec
7. grayer morality. For example blood magic shown as neutral rather than the resort of cartoon villains. Good people using controversial powers (i.e Morrigan or Tevinters using blood magic to stop the invading Qunari hordes)
8. More emphasis on the psychological and emotional impact of events. How tranquility dehumanizes people. How despair rather than the allure of power can push mages to deal with demons, etc
9. No filler content (fetch quests, empty areas of nothingness, etc)
10. PC UI that allows me to access all my powers

My wishlist for Dragon Age 4Playable origins and races. There's a lot of scope here even if the game is all set in Tevinter. Noble Tevinter Mage, elf slave, Tal-Vashoth Qunari, soldier in the Imperial Army etc.Hair that doesn't look painted on. More hairstyles in general, less bald looks please. Not everyone wants to have a shaved head. Long hair for both male and female.Finish off the Inquisitor/Solas story. The Inquisitor really needs to be involved in that resolution somehow. Even if it's just a cameo like Hawke. But the Inquisitor needs to be at that denoument.I quite like the open world aspect of Inquisition, but might I suggest less zones but with more to explore in each of them? Buildings, towns and cities. Pretty scenery is very nice but you get a bit overwhelmed with all the countryside sometimes. And have them tie in a bit more, like Crestwood etc.
I second this!
My wishlist for Dragon Age 4Romances. No race-gated romances next time please. I'd like there to be an option for your character to have a choice of 3 romances no matter whether they are straight, gay or bi. Or even bring back bisexual companions so everyone has the same number of choices. I wouldn't mind that.More romance content in general. I don't necessarily mean love scenes or the like (although I wouldn't say no to more of those, LOL!) but more conversations that you can only have if you romance that person. Make their romance conversations unique, a friend conversation should be different. And more romantic things we can do with them such as kissing while out and about, not just at headquarters. A picnic by a waterfall. Stargazing. Going out for a meal together etc. etc. If there was a DLC that was just romance content for your character and LIs I'd buy thatThe LIs flirting with you first sometimes. It would be nice to know that they are interested.
"No race-gated romances next time please" - I'm not sure I want this... I think it's more realistic to have gated romances. I think, if like in Cassandra's case there should be more interaction, like if you are female and keep flirting with you she has a really cute scene where she awkwardly confronts you and asks you to stop. Or if you keep flirting with Dorian after you do his quest and you both have this mutual understanding, that it's all just good fun. I think that makes the companions more real and unique? I think maybe you could have companions who are bi-curious, but don't consider it until you constantly flirt with them, or they gradually fall for you over time....like say you have a male protagonist.... and then you have a male companion you wanna romance... but he's never done that before...and you could choose all the options to flirt with him, and he takes them with grace but never acts on them...and as the story progresses and you bring this companion along with you on mission perhaps they slowly start to fall for you. Then one times you decide to go back to your base and there's a cutscene of this companion bursting through your doors with a passion not even Fenris could match and you become lovers.....! But if you're a female character, that same companion could make the moves on you...!
That'd be nice, if they go to the effort of making a female voice-over, they should go to the point of the game having slight differences based on your gender like that ![]()
(And what I mean by these differences is that maybe the outgoing-straight companion flirts first with the object of their desire, or maybe the bi-curious-we'll say male for simplicity's sake-companion flirts with the female protagonist first but regards a male protagonist differently. Perhaps there's an interspecies-curious companion who's race gated, but curious - so open after you get to know them more.... Perhaps the female protagonist can say different lines then the male protagonist - those kind of differences )
It'd make the story so rich! But I like the way some of the romances were gated.. I liked Solas only being matched to a female elf, it made you feel like you were his elven goddess, which only makes sense to his character. Being with a human or anything else would not have made sense....because he's not that open to change.....
I agree though, there should be way more romance content in the sense that there is more lines or more things to talk about/do together ( and having the romance isn't like this sort of "status" only. There were times I felt cheated and like I missed out on good dialog with my Solas romance because I picked all the romance options with him and I felt it would have been better had I picked some of the more friendly options, or more appropiate for the conversation, as the romance response wasn't always right for the situation, or didn't progress much(?). I hope I'm making sense... but yes I'd love to see more content that is specific to the romance only, and more of it!
-I'm up for the challenge !! ![]()

Mage staffs as one-handed weapons, can be dual-wielded with another one-handed weapon such as a sword or another staff.
Medieval-like hair options.
Being able to personalise character portrait and voice like in DAO.
Non-combat skills like in DAO.
One of our companions to be a Grey Warden Blood Mage.
To take place in Tevinter, Anderfels and Kal Sharok.
The mystery of the Black City to be revealed, and the game's ending to take place there somehow.
More of the Dead Trenches. More of the Legion of The Dead. More of the Wardens.
All new cast. Only Solas returns for story reasons. Although I wouldn't mind the Mage Hunters from Mage Killer showing up.
Cloaks and hoods.
Tevinter gladiator fights. Gladiator weapons (tridents, shortswords, siccae, etc).
Tevinter Wardens.
Single weapon skill tree for Warriors and Rogues.

Been playing DAI for a few days now and so far i'm liking the hell out of it. If DA4 gets released i'll definately be buying that one too. I'd like to throw in a few suggestions. I dont want anyone to take my suggestions as a "turn DA into XYZ game". I'm just naming a game that i've seen the feature so that people will have an easier time understanding it.
1) day and night cycle
2) the same number of companions (or a few more) -- someone mentioned they wanted less and i think that the companion dialogue is so good why would anyone want fewer companions!
3) keep the companions with the unique personalities -- i see that a lot of people dislike Sera but i actually like her a lot. Just because people dislike her i hope that BW doesnt try to leave out companions with personalities like her. I would like for there to be 1 or 2 goofball companions who arent serious all the time (or even at all).
4) companion/party banter -- the banter system is the main reason i am playing DAI. i watched about an hour and a half of funny banter stuff on youtube and i got the game shortly after that. I think that banter should not be interruptible by anything except combat and conversations that your controlled character starts with NPCs. I've read that the banter counter resets when you get to close to the requisitions NPCs at camps. I think that the party banter should have priority over that. Or at least find a way for banter to keep going while the requisition officer does their greeting.
5) area looting -- lots of games have been switching from single target looting to aoe looting nowadays.
6) companion looting -- maybe have an AI section that allows us to select what companions can loot? maybe have a threshold where they will check loot but only take things if its rare or higher, or unique and higher and so on. Maybe have one for gathering too? you can designate one companion to help pick some herbs, another companion to mine ore.
7) 1 additional class maybe? i like that rogue and archer are shared and so 2h and sword and board warriors. There is only 1 light armor wearer though so it seems like a light armor class would be the most logical to add. Maybe a battle priest? not a healer class but make them more oriented towards offense with minimal healing. Or give them healing but have them only be useable out of combat. Too much healing ability might trivialize content or make people feel like they *need* to have a priest along and i notice that this game has a party setup but it seems like its trinity-optional and not trinity-mandatory. Thats probably something for veteran players to "theorycraft" since i'm just a new player here.
8) more armor models -- add in more armor models OR make the game engine/system a lot more user friendly when it comes to allowing people to create models in Blender, Maya or 3DSM and importing those models into the game. I see that DAI has a section on Nexus, but if its possible for Bioware to make the system even more user friendly than it already is i think that would be great.
EDIT: forgot some stuff
9) a "parkour" system similar to black desert online. The animations in DAI are already very detailed like how you climb up ladders and slide down them. I would like for them to take it a step further. Like instead of jumping over a fence, when you come upon the fence hitting the space bar causes you to clamber over it instead. When you come upon a wall you can jump up grab onto the upper part of it with your hands and pull yourself up.
10) bring back Leliana, Morrigan, and Cullen as companions. They dont have to bring back other companions but it would be nice to see them making some sort of cameo as a minor/moderate NPC that you have to do a quest for.
Thats all i have for now...just made yet another character and this post is holding me up from playing the game and i cant have that ![]()

That'd be nice, if they go to the effort of making a female voice-over, they should go to the point of the game having slight differences based on your gender like that
(And what I mean by these differences is that maybe the outgoing-straight companion flirts first with the object of their desire, or maybe the bi-curious-we'll say male for simplicity's sake-companion flirts with the female protagonist first but regards a male protagonist differently.
I'd prefer we keep a voiced progagonist and have a choice of voices like Inquisition. And if it's too expensive to do many voiceovers, I'm sure there are lots of fans who would do it for free-I'm up for the challenge !!
I liked how they did romances this time. In the real world of love people have preferences. I always felt when companions were romanceable by anyone it was.. Well i guess passionless. Thats just me.
Finding out that dorian wasnt romanceable by females was sad but awesome all at once. It also made the friendship you build together as a female feel more special i guess. I adored that about dorian. If i wanna romance him i just roll up a male inquisitor and play again. It is a great was to experience the game in many different ways. If they do a pick a lover any lover type romance in the next game I think ill opt out of the romances. I just prefere the more realistic romances over vending machine romp partners.
I also liked the gated, gotta earn it throught the game, romance aspect. Completing a romance when you havent even done half the main quests would be boring heh. The anticipation is the best part. I would like to see most of what you both said for romances. A mix of DAO and DAI
Of course i think a lot of folks want to see quizzy come back but im pretty sure thats the plan But ill mention it anyway
I hated the gear in DAI. I liked the gear in DAO the best but I also liked some of the gear in DA2.
I would like the tactics to go back to DAO or DA2 style. I hated what we had to work with in DAI. Combos are key.... Combos are near impossible in DAI
It kinda sucked that modding DAI was so burdensome. Im lazy so I didnt bother even messing with the mods. Too much work. heh If you must use frostbite work on a way to customize a bit more, that or please give us better hair and makeup options. I rather like the long hair mods and such because of the lackluster options on default.
And please keep voiced protag. Idky anyone would want a pc that stares like they have a cramp pain at everyone or like they are shocked while everyone else talks lol. Only thing i disliked about DAO
I miss the origins starting stories. That added depth to the pc
I quite like the return of previous companions, even if just as support npcs or something. and it would be cool to see more of them. Surely they all didnt just drop off the face of thedas.
Thats all for me I think. Except More novels lol. I learned a lot about the wardens and many other characters and the world from the books. it helps add to the game for me.

More villains like Branka, Loghain, Meredith, and Zathrian. Alexius was about as close as we got in DAI

TW3 hair is not what I would define as Medieval. I want something Aragorn style.Yeah if i am correct i have seen you here before i could be wrong though
.
You mean the Medieval hair styles like in The Witcher 3 if that is so then please no they just look so terrible.
I love TW2 Rivian Ponytail though.

Hairstyles that include long hair
Either mounts removed or mounts actually made useful.
More specializations and companions having thier own unique abilities.
Allow any class to eqip any weapon--even if it's only for the lulz
More lore regarding the 'identity' of magic, tranquility, the veil, spirits and the world prior to the veil.
A more fleshed out version of mages and Templars. As well as an in depth look at Circle politics, both in towers where abuses run rampant and towers where the system actually seems like it's working.
Also a closer look at the Mages Collective. I feel we know so little about them and how they live/operate.
The addition of abominations. The violent ones, not the 'stable we are actually close friends kind'. Seriously, it is almost uncanny how they do not really appear DAI.
More elements of gameplay in regards to companions. I don't care if it's quests, another variety of an approval system, really circumstantial cutscenes or whatever else. I just like interacting with them. In all forms.
A more customizable home base and armor/weapon system.

That too. Shaven chests in the Middle Ages is out of place, even in a fantasy.
Yeah, the Barbie/Ken look is weird on humans and dwarves. Elves don't grow beards in this setting so they might not have any body hair to speak of, and I have no idea if the qunari are supposed to be hairless as a race, but dwarves and humans looking like nugs is a bit out of place.

Pfeew that's a relieve i'm glad you did not mean those hairstyles in TW 3 and Aragorn's hairstyle is okay more then okay
.
There is a possibility that we misunderstand each other i did not mean Geralt's hairstyle in TW 3. But i mean the people in the village and then the man with those weird looking haircuts and that is definitely Medieval.

- Origins
- If there are no origins then multiple backgrounds, and a proper beginning, not that post-disaster, in medias res nonsense from DA2 and DAI.
- Bring back the conversation cinematics where I can actually see close ups of the persons face (seriously, I installed a conversation zoom in mod for my 4th playthrough and for so many npcs it was like 'wait - that's what you look like?')
- More immersive side quests. Conversations cinematics would help with that, but less quests where you get the quest from a note, and more effort put into the quests where you actually talk to people.
- Combat tactics - I enjoyed the combat in the first two games more than DAI.
- More spells and more slots for abilities.
- Warriors need a ranged weapon, I've been chafing at that loss since DA2 came out.
- Better Hair. You spend a lot of time staring at people while they talk in these games, your own character most of all. So having quality hair really does make a difference.
- Crafting armour was good, having stats determined purely by materials so you can pick the armour design you like best instead of having to go with the highest armours would be better.

The Setting
I'd like to see sprawling cityscapes, with differing constructions. Since we seem to be in Tevinter, show me that. Qarinus is right over the straights from Seheron, so show me this military port. Carastes is further back, so show me this hub of mercantile activity. Show me the ancient city of Minrathous, that has never fallen in all of history. The cities should feel different from each other.
The lands are already beautiful, but there is no need for large landscapes if it's just empty space with the occasional enemy. A small, more linear place, can be just as beautiful, and it will work better if I'm fighting towards an objective tooth and nail.
The PC
Since Tevinter is foreign to us, we should be foreign as well. How we do that is really not important, but there would be a disconnect if something that is not normal to me is treated as normal.
Give the PC a unique skill or skill tree that unlocks over the course of the game. This need not be mystic, like the Anchor. But something that I can use that makes this PC the "Hero." I don't need to be a Chosen One, in fact, I'd much prefer it if we chose destiny rather than the other way around. But I'm not one amongst many sames, I am the one.
Multiple races is a good idea since it encourages replay value, and lets the flavor of the world come out. Qunari probably wouldn't work in Tevinter because they are at war, but human, elf or dwarf; male or female; warrior, mage, or thief. Plenty of combinations.
Define the PC's history, but do not define their emotions. If the PC has a history with Grand Duke Gaspard, fine. But don't say that I hated every second of it unless I made that choice. And especially don't define the PC's emotions for things that happen during the game. Mass Effect was awful with this by forcing Liara to be the bestie, and forcing Shepard to feel awful about Thessia. Do not do this.
BioWARE's usually pretty good about letting the emotion through with love and hate for characters, but it's worth repeating: Don't force any choices for arbitrary reasons on the devs part. If I can shiv people, or sell them into slavery, or leave innocent people to die out of spite, don't make me unable to say Maevaris is a man just because you don't want to be "hurtful" to transgenders. If you don't have the maturity to write a complex storyline about that issue, don't put it in the game. I control the PC's emotion and feeling, not the devs.
The Party Members and other NPCs
The party members should interact with each other. Banter is good, and a BioWARE strength, but that's not just it. Inquisition did this by having Dorian/Leliana play chess with Cullen, Sera pranking people, but it was just a little, and it worked well. BioWARE creates the NPC's from whole cloth, and their personalities aren't defined by the person.
Let the characters bring the uniqueness of Tevinter alive. Priests are both mages and men in Tevinter, let me see that up close with an Imperial Father. Templars don't use lyrium, so what do they do? Explore it through character.
I'm okay with race-gated, class-gated, and even sex-gated content. This is a truth of reality, especially in a fantasy game. I could even miss out on content because I'm not a mage, or a dwarf, or whatever. But I should not feel like the devs are nudging me towards a certain "correct" choice. The War Table gave a lot of stuff to the elves, whereas everyone else was small. Feel free to give us multiple angles towards a goal, some that can only be accessed to certain characters. But never let me miss out on story and lore because of it.
Example: Let's say I need to get a relic from the Grand Cleric of Carastes without harming him. Male human mages might pass themselves as Imperial Fathers and just need the right disguise and maybe know the odd bit of Imperial Chantry history. A female human mage could pass herself off as a Senior Enchantress and would need to forge some paperwork, taking an extra step, but still getting it. An elven mage (male or female) could offer to teach a secret Dalish technique that the cleric could use to scare his enemies, since Dalish magic is shrouded with mystery to the Magisters. Dwarves might be able to bribe the man with a contract from some smugglers for a good price on lyrium. And then, of course, any character could simply hire some rogues to steal it.
Some quests might not even be available to certain groups. That's fine. As long as I get equivalent content somewhere else, so I'm not feeling like the devs considered it an afterthought, then it's okay. There shouldn't be a quest line that's only available to female characters and men get nothing extra, that's a punishment.
