Yep.
Two things.
1) as alluded to above, ur ps3 was a technology marvel >1 decade ago, but is still old and runs comparitively hot. That silicon paste heat transfer erodes over time. If ps3 is old and fan runs loud- that would be good time to reapply a thin layer of fresh paste.
2) Whatever we do to avoid the memleak, sooner or later we all arrive at the point of no return ("Alea iacta est").
- A good host would recognize it, and verify.
- If confirmed, and rate drops substantially, the host will announce his/her imminent exit graciously beforehand
- and exit (after wave /objective end + promptly after the new wave start.
This selfless act means that only the host suffers consumable loss and unfinished waves. No-one needs to rebuilt - and three coop players (coop) can at least finish their game. The gentlemen/ladies's agreement would be that everyone reboots after that and not prolongate the leak to another game.
