Well it probably wont go away until they release ME:A.

I picked up the trilogy last night from Best buy, and there were still plenty of fresh faces on mp, myself included. It was nice playing again though, especially starting from scratch...just have to get back into not using a control for the movements.

ME:A won't come until Q1 2017, so between Jan-March next year, I'm guessing March. And then ME3MP will probably be up and running some time after that, if ME:A MP is as bad as DAMP I won't play it.

There's that rumor again, not even the first time in this thread.

Where does it come from?

I'll be kind of sad when this game finally goes kaput. How will I headbutt all of my enemies to death without it?

As someone who played the multiplayer to Dragon Age.  I have zero faith in this generation at Bioware.  From top to bottom across the board.  Even released with 3 maps.....THREE MAPS and only one was added after that.

Which is also why I will not be pre ordering....of course buying used after all of the other drama.

To be fair, I don't think DA really lends itself well to the multiplayer experience anyhow. Mass Effect always seemed the better fit.

I am friends with quite a few people whose PC probably won't be capable of handling a brand new game (Andromeda).

I however will be the first person to purchase it and then it is highly unlikely I will continue playing ME3.
(unless it has the DAI frustration build in)

as much I am still enjoying playing ME3, I am missing the times when I was unlocking new weapons and experimented with builds.

I hereby publicly bet you $5 (*) that the ME3 servers will not be turned off on the day that ME:A is released (**).

(*) To be paid as Steam credit into the other's account.

(**) Bet to become void if ME:A is officially cancelled, or delayed to 2018.

It won't be turned off that very day.  I think the point is that it won't be turned off prior to that day.  It will probably run for a year afterwards.

The persistent rumor here on BSN is that ME3 will go offline when ME:A is released, or some slight variation of that.

Anyway, I'm retired, so unless there are takers for the bet, I'm going back to counting down the minutes until I can start pre-loading The Division....

Lol, are you going to get the division, man? It sure looks great. Ubisoft tho... Ugh. Could be worse I guess. Could be EA >_>

I take it you're jumping off the battlefront trainwreck?

If and when this finally goes offline... the servers for ME: Andromeda better be up and running.

I take breaks from MP and whenever I come back there's still people playing, finding matches is pretty quick and there seems to be a steady stream of new players in the lobbies.

Bioware did a remarkable job for their first excursion into multiplayer. It has its issues, but damn, its a ton of fun.

The Division was pretty awesome in the beta when <3 Siren <3 and I played through it for a weekend. I'd compare it to being able to play the ME3 campaign as co-op with up to 3 other players, with the lobby where you pick teams being inside the game, and the Dark Zone is like a seamless MP addition. You just need to make sure your rig is up to it - fortunately I just acquired a dual-fan GTX970 with 4GB so it runs pretty smooth. Are any of you coming along with us to clean up New York?

As to Battlefront, yeah, I reckon I got my money's worth in 128 hours or so of play, together with quite a few exquisite rage moments (spawning directly in the line of fire of the AT-AT, for example - that didn't last long: *spawn*...BOOM...You were killed by AT-AT!) as well as some gut-busting laughs as well, like hitting the jump pack as my grenade, the enemy's grenade, and a thermal imploder all went off at the same time - I thought my body was never going to stop flying upwards...!  But I'm sure that it'll be impossible to find a lobby once the March DLC arrives, because despite all the forum rants, a lot of the playerbase are dumb enough to buy it, and there aren't enough PC players left after the nerfs and the recent ban wave to keep the game alive after the playerbase is split into DLC haves and have-nots.

Yeah, I figure that too. I'll keep trying to find games for some time, then give up if noone's around anymore. Cause I sure as hell ain't paying more than a couple bucks for two reskinned models, bleah. What a flop the game is doing.

But yeah, I've had my fun playing it, including situations in which I've been thrown into orbit too  Wouldn't mind being able to keep playing it a bit longer, we'll see.

As for the division, I built a rig last year which was and is pretty good, so it should hold up for some years. I've got a 970 myself. It sure looks like it's fun, and I'd love to come along, but

- I can't play at the moment, and things won't change for some days/weeks

- even if I can, I'm not sure I'm willing to spend the money for the full price. Actually I'm pretty sure I'm not.

- even after all that considered, it's still ubisoft. Bleah. Does it work through uplay only?

Bring turrets and med-packs :D

BTW, the turret is pretty aggressive and highly effective. Now I know why Cerberus Engineers look so smug when they set up one of theirs.
