So I was watching videos on what would happen if you left Hawke or the Warden ally in the fade and I noticed that if the player left Hawke behind they would sometimes say sorry to whoever they romanced in DA 2.
So I was wondering I how do I get Hawke to say sorry to the person I romanced in DA 2?
Does have to do with Hawke attitude or is it something else?

Isn't it automatic?  I tried it with mine and she mentioned Sebastian, she also talked about being with him when I chatted to her at Skyhold.

No because my Hawke said (sigh) Right Then even though I romanced someone in DA 2.
Also I saw videos on YouTube where Hawke said Spiders! Always the Maker damn spiders!

I've only had one Hawke mention their LI during this scene. "Safe harbors, Isabela."
I've never gotten a mention for Merrill, Fenris, or Anders (outside of that initial conversation at Skyhold or the Nightmare's taunting in the Fade).

Never gotten any LI mentioned as well, heck sometimes in the case of Anders, Varric will mention writing a letter to the sibling over him outside of the Fade and Seb never gets any mention at all even the Demon doesn't considering him important enough to taunt Hawke with.

Did he/she talk about their LI at Skyhold with you?

 

If they didn't it may be that the world didn't import properly, if they did then it must be a bug.  

 

At least it was only one sentence, I reloaded to see it myself (as I actually saved Hawke) and was rather unimpressed that you only got one line.  Thank goodness for Youtube I guess.

I've only done it with a Seb romance so I didn't even know the demon said anything.  

I did get a line about Sebastian at the end tho, if I left Hawke in the fade.  The amount of stuff cut from the Sebastian romance really sucks.  I mean he's super boring but still...

It's nothing special just 'X is going to die, they're all going to die just like your family' something along those lines.

I've only left Hawke once in the fade. That was male Hawke with no romance. He said 'say goodbye to Varric for me'

 

I have seen on youtude Hawke saying Isabela's name. Haven't seen a vidoe of Hawke saying any of the other names

I get the 'Say goodbye to Varric for me' line whenever I leave Hawke in the fade regardless of if they had an LI or not.

I got "I'm sorry, Anders" line, so at least we know it's here. I don't remember if I got one for Fenris or Merrill.

Nope.
But there is a mention in the Trespasser epilogue if they were not left in the Fade.

I heard Hawke say "Sorry Fenris" but the subtitle says "right then" so it annoyed me quite a bit.

My Hawke that romanced Isabella mentioned Varic, maybe because Varic was on the team in the fade?

For some reason afterwards I loaded up his post game save from DA2 while he was at home - very sad

in the Crossroads there's a library, which includes a chapter of Hard in Hightown Varric hasn't written yet.  In it, Donnen Brenickovic has finally retired and opened a tavern.  The customer he's talking to greatly resembles whoever is left in the Fade

 

If it's Hawke:

 

Hep poured some noxious Ander stout from an oak cask into a heavy tankard and carried it outside to a dark-haired nobleman on the patio idly strumming a lute so out of tune, it sounded like some other instrument, perhaps a tuba or a kettle drum, trying to invent music from scratch.

Donnen handed over the tankard, only half-hoping it would stop him from playing any more.

"That's very kind of you, guardsman."  Thankfully, the gentleman set aside his lute and took the tankard, putting his feet up on the table in front of him.

"It's just Donnen these days," he replied, looking out over the waves.  "My time in the Kirkwall guard is over."

"It's never really gone."  The nobleman smiled.  "Kirkwall. It finds its way into your soul, and once it gets there, you carry it always."

The sun was setting behind them, casting long shadows from the tavern down to the water.  A flock of cormorants took advantage of the fading light to dive for fish making their way back out to sea.

"Maybe so."  Donnen smiled, too.  "But the world can always use a Champion or a guardsman wherever they happen to go."

The gentleman raised his tankard. "I'll drink to that."

And the two men watched the last of the light disappear in peace.

He poured a glass of red Orlesian wine and carried it out to the patio where lady Marielle sat, playing a lute for the benefit of a distant flock of cormorants and a sleepy mabari hound.

Donnen handed her the glass with a smile.  "Can I get you anything else, your ladyship?"

"That's very kind of you, guardsman."  Marielle set aside her lute; the sleepy hound looked up, annoyed at having its lullaby interrupted.

"It's just Donnen these days," he replied, looking out over the waves.  "My time in the Kirkwall guard is over."

"Is it?" She smiled slyly over the glass.  "You don't think naming a tavern The Watch was a sign that perhaps you can take the guardsman out of Kirkwall, and even out of the Guard, but he never... quite leaves?"

The sun was setting behind them. The hound stretched and ambled over to the table to lay his head on Lady Marielle's knee and beg for table scraps. In the distance, the cormorants took off in a single motion to return to their roosts up the shore.

Donnen smiled back. "Maybe you're right. But tonight I'm off duty, your ladyship."

"Marielle," she corrected. "And to answer your question, you can get me some company. One guardsman might suffice."

And the two of them watched the last of the light disappear together in peace.

Apparently the devs (and Josie's VA) said this was fanfiction by spirits who were fans of Varric's work. I find it interesting they have a different mood based on who dies.

Ok so I think I figured out to get Hawke to talk about their love interest in the fade if they get left behind I think it's depends on who you bring I believe if you bring varric but not Cassandra Hawke will talk about their love interest going to test this theory in tomorrow. I'll let you know if does

I had an aggressive female hawke, that I left in the fade once, and had varric in the party and before my inquisitor left she heard hawke say, "sorry,anders" and he was my romance though the subtitles flashed really fast but I heard her voice very clearly...
