When I'm fortunate to get an armor for another class they seem to give me more armor of said class. I think i have 4 Legion, 3 reavers, 4 archers and what not.
Side Note: i unlocked drake for my mages, i think that should unlock them all since i do technically have armor for them.
Think you still have to have the classes unlocked first. Just have to either craft or find the base armor for a class to play it, then use the drakeskin. I try not to use any kind of cotton, everite, craggy skin, great bear hide when crafting armors(I save those for weapon upgrades). the materials you put in the armors when crafting them in mp are irrelevant, the stats will be the same whether you use all tier 3 materials or all tier 1 materials. So trash mats are really good for class unlocking/armor crafting.

Glad I am on playstation as spawn rates are bugged on xbox one.
I see them every now and then on nightmare, they are very common on heartbreaker. On perilious, I've only seen one in I don't know how many hundreds of games - and some guy in my group was faster than me and looted it before I could get my hands on it.

Cotton is just the same as any other material, obtainable from salvaging. They only drop off staves though, so a bit more rare.

I've mainly seen them on the Druffy Faction when I'm in Nightmare, one or two sneaking around on the last board. They are easy to miss, seems like they are only there for a second or two - like the nug
