Is there a way to tell fire mines apart - the ones cast by inquisition mages vs the ones cast by the enemy?

Not that I'm aware of. That said, it isn't that hard to guess. If your character can only cast a single mine, it will be under the targeted enemy, at least until they move away. If in array mode, they will be near one of your mages. When in doubt, cast Dispel. I don't believe you can dispel your own mines, at least if friendly-fire is off.

The simplest way is to step on it. That's what I use Solas for anyways.

No, wait 3 seconds before stepping on it. Even enemy mines can have prime time too.

Look for the seal formula, enemy mines use a simple circle with three smaller ones inside but your own mines have an inner ring with fire twirling towards the center.
