Huh. That's a new one for performance art for me. Wish she'd come down here to Australia. XD I don't think we're as relaxed about sexuality as the Danes, but definitely more than the Brits!

So, raiding is pretty much a stillbirth due to a lack of numbers?

From what I've seen, raids is one of those things where you really need a large pool of potential players for it to work. You already have a fairly high skill and gear threshold to meet, which cuts down a lot of potential applicants because they don't have the time, finances or desire to create specific gear sets for raids (incidentally I'm in this last category), or for whatever reason their personal skills as a player just aren't up to scratch.

Then even once you've got this narrowed down pool of players, at any one time there's going to be people who can't make raid times due to real life conflicts, or who can at some times, but not others. So unless you have a large pool of ready to raid players, odds are you're not going to be able to find 9 other people who are ready and willing to do raids at the exact times you are.

That's why I think if you're serious about wanting to do raids, your best bet is likely to find a dedicated raiding guild and sign up with them. My NA guild has maybe about 20 or so players who are usually on every day, but out of us, I'd say there's only 3 or 4 who are really serious about getting into raids. Those guys have basically gone on to join raid guilds in order to make any progress; there just wasn't enough sustained interest from our usual guild.

I've given serious consideration to training guilds who are constantly looking for new people to have a bigger pool of players in order to do weekly raids. I finally finished my Danish class, so I have a little more time in the evenings now, and raiding is something that I've been at least vaguely interested in for a while now. That said, I think it would be optimal to have at least a few professions geared and ready so that you have a little variety to offer, and so far only my revenant is fully geared.

While I know all of that, one has to ask before wasting time setting aside time to log in at the right times with sufficient time to spare.

Gw has done a fine job of segregating gw even further by ensuring you now need friends who want to raid, have the resources to raid and have the time to raid.  guilds meanwhile are forced to bottleneck in to raiding,. by dividing their members into the above.

It is increasingly looking like you will forever be one of the poor relations unless you opt to raid. those in a good position are getting ascended gear of their choice and potentially legendary armour, which is only going to split the community even further in the end.

It is looking like one will need to raid to appreciate the living story..

The issue with creating a guild is having nothing to offer players.

Vermintide is on sale again I note, all praise the steam overlords.

So, are the number of hot mastery points woefully short without hoop jumping or is it just me? Maxed out my gliding and now I need another 13 to open champion frog beetle's chest for a part of H.o.p.e

Which isn't changing my opinion hot sucks.

Do x shitty adventure, get gold. blah, blah.

I found a mastery point in burnisher today surrounded by poison , the irony being I needed tier 5 gliding to discover it, leaving me no points to spend on shitzel poison mastery.

also has thew latest patch borked the lighting or just mine?

I've seen people talk about weird lighting in caves and such for a while now, but I don't know if that's what you mean.

I had to do the frog dungeon with the tears and the lights were impossible on high, totally over saturated. Had to drop the setting to low.

Yeah, some parts of the game world are weirdly lighted up. Wrelk's Saloon in Gendarran Fields looks like it's lit up for a rave.

If you don't do raids or adventures, then yeah, I think you're going to have trouble scraping together enough HoT MPs to unlock the HoT Masteries. The good news is that with the recent changes to adventures, Bronze should be doable by just about anybody, while Silver can probably be attained by most players with a bit of practice. Add the 3 super easy adventures (Salvage Pit, Wings of Gold and Drone Race) where it's fairly easy to get Gold even on your first attempt, and you should be able to get the missing points you need.

For those interested in the loopy graphics, take a trip to the  harpy wp near the troll cave in queens, and view the war of the worlds lighting effects on the hills leading to the ettin, cave.

Or it is just mine.

Building the stage one pre.

The time gate is a pain in the arse.

It is beyond me why anet feels no content is helped by forcing people to fart about with nothing going on for near on 2 week.

Now it requires 1000 bandit crests, which for someone who never cared to go to the silverwastes is a pain. One might say a wastes of time.

The Geodes are more of a pain to farm, in my opinion. At least Silverwastes is fairly profitable while you're going about it. I don't know if they have a similar thing going in EU, but over on the NA servers we have a guild that basically runs SW 24/7 for high loot gain. I just join their map and do a circle run through all the Forts over and over for one map cycle. That gives about 500 or so Bandit Crests, so twice of that will get you the 1000 you need.

I'm pretty sure I just supplied the entire war effort. 250 mithril daggers, 250 mithril dagger hilts, 250 mithril dagger blades.
