Groups will also be wiped, I'm afraid.

 

As for the reason, it's not that *we* haven't used it, it's that the devs don't use it and apparently have no desire to have it float around for fans' enjoyment, either. That's a lot of history down the toilet.

why am I not shocked about biodevs being so conceited they are the only major development house who don't feel the need to involve their fans at least on a superficial level.

Okay, I have gone ahead in light of people wanting this group to stay alive and opened a steam group.

On steam I am friends with swirly bob, quixal,snotty, the itinerate sun and tierce, as the "The brexiteer".,

I am afraidonly I can invite you so if you wish to join ask, pop a note along and I will invite you posthaste. or join my friend list and I will invite you, you can then feel free to leave it should you so wish.

as this is all up in the air, I can't say it will be a popular group but it comes with all the advantages of steam such as a chat room etc.

I was afraid they'd wipe groups too. I can't say I didn't expect this day to come however. It just seems like devs in general are becoming more reluctant to directly interact with their audience. We can see a similar trend going on in the GW2 forums, for instance. Outside of Gaile (where it's her job), and certain devs like Josh Foreman (before he got told to toe the company line), it seems most devs would rather not even look at the forums at all. (Something which I can understand, if it's mostly complaints.)

 

Anyway, do we have any plans to set up an alternative place to hang out or just keep in touch? Would hate to see you all disappear into the ether. :/

I think I have made invites available to anyone wishing to make them, There are various options for the steam groups,

 

story short I have attempted to give as much power as possible to members, shy of being able to kick people or delete the posts of others ( in an effort to avoid a situation where people feel they "should" be doing something).
