C'mon, it barely makes a difference. They're blue space babes trope, nothing more. Better to have a spot for some new trully alien squadmate.

Without serious proof this is a lot to take in but... who knows. Not fan of the possible synthetic squad member again. I know I'm going to have to tolerate an asari in the squad - again - but to add a synth to that... That's 2 squad places away from more interesting characters.

Don't agree. Think they should focus on delving deeper into existing races, not introduce a bunch of new friendly local ones as part of the squad.

Nope, it's just pure deduction. Because of the romance especially, I'm pretty sure they will put both human gender on the squadmate... I totally agree with you, 1 human buddy is faaaar enough but look at ME1 : Ash and Kaidan (both can be LI). ME2 Miranda/jack/Jacob (3 LI). ME3 Kaidan/ash (depending on who was your LI/saved on ME1) and Vega (well ok he's not a LI -I won't count citadel- but he's human and on your squad).

 

Let's hope I'm wrong, who knows, maybe we will have plenty of NPC to romance on the ship, including humans, so yes, I don't want to waste a place on my squad for 2 humans, one is far enough IMO.

What can I say, I plead guilty, I like to play with aliens (the only species I would like to avoid is asari, I'm tired of them) ... I always find them a lot more interesting and fun.

 

Maybe if it was a synthetic like Bishop from Aliens, I wouldn't dislike that possibru addition myself.

Maybe, I thought about Bishop too ^^ love the Alien movies~ I'm still not fond of the idea but let's hope, if it's a true information, that they at least will do something interesting and very uncommon :/

Deeper into existing races like human? PC will be human, if we also have human male squadmate that's already 2, why do we need 3rd (human female) to delve deep into humanity lol?

The blonde human and Cora (biotic, race unknown) were mentioned in two different leaks, iirc. Unless I missed something, they could be two completely different characters.

I may not be remembering right, but I thought a very early leak did mention an asari biotic companion, which may have been "Cora"

I could have sworn that the leak said "female biotic named Cora" but I might be wrong. That combined with the trailer which showed a Krogan and an armored female with either a human or asari physique led people to speculate it could be either. But maybe I am misremembering.

Edit: Now that I think about it, the blonde thing sounds very familiar. Maybe it was a human female biotic in the reddit leak.

Then again, Miranda was blonde before she wasn't (good thing too because brunettes are hotter...). Things will probably change by release. Maybe she was a human biotic to start, and now they switched it to Asari.

Yeah, not entirely surprising for a sci-fi game with previously established AI as well. I like it because I think Bio writes better aliens than humans.

A synthetic... I'm seriously not fond of the idea... one slot lost for a new alien on the team ... I've read we have 7 squadmates (can't remember where.... was it on reddit last years ? ) so :

- A krogan (great!)

- A synthetic

3 slots left only. No way. I want much more playable characters, like ME2 !

 

Well, anyways, for now nothing's official so wait and see !

 

I'll be sad if we don't get a Salarian.

 

I want a Salarian. Combat or the (rare) Biotics oriented.

 

We've only had one Salarian so far. One.

 

We're getting a Krogan but that'd make it the THIRD one! Same with Synthetic! (though Legion arguably was on the border of being a temporary instead of full squadmate, with how ME2's final version happened)

 

 

You know what I'd like? A return to expansions. Main game can have this several characters that mostly reflect another version of ME1 roster (obviously except for the Synthetic or whatever else). But then we get a couple or more expansions that at least mostly include the main group, but then add 1+ more characters each. Lets more characters happen but not get overwhelmed like the devs seemed to be with ME2 and then ME3 results.
