BTW why everybody think Cora is blond? Did I missed a picture somewhere?
One of the earlier leaks, it's all speculation of course.

Yeah, multiple things about the OP sound legit in light of prior leaked info.
The synthetic thing is new though.
The synthetic thing also plays out with previous information.
We went from zero AI companions in ME1 to a sentient computer on the Normandy in ME2 to a fully functional AI fembot companion in ME3. That's not a coincidence...
Here's a quote from Chris L'Etoile talking about AI in ME2:
"EDI was added by decree from on high, but I think she works fine. She fills a role on the ship that no organic could (electronic warfare against Reaper-level computer software) and has severe hardware and software restrictions on her freedom for most of the game. To me, that's consistent. Organics want to enjoy benefits of AIs without the perceived risks."
"On high" could mean a lot of things. It could have been Drew or Casey, but or it could have been corporate via focus testing. Doesn't necessarily matter. But that quote combined with the increased presence of synthetic characters in the ME franchise indicates that someone in a position of authority wants a significant synthetic presence in game. So it's quite reasonable that there would be another synthetic companion in MEA.
While I am totally fine with there being a synthetic companion(sad they aren't a Geth though), I think it would be really cool if the intelligence inside the body wasn't a VI or AI but actually a Virtual Alien.
There is no confirmation that the human female in the trailer, who wields an N7 Valkyrie assault rifle, by the way, is also the biotic named Cora. I actually think these will be two separate characters. "Cora" as a name reminds me of how Bioware uses naming conventions, and names ending -ra / -la are very commonly used for Asari. It's all speculation, of course, but my bet is on a human female from the trailer not being Cora.
Skeptical is not the thing as being dismissive.
LMFAO. i love how demanding evidence is being dismissive.
"I believe that the reason why Canada is not over run by tigers is because my farts are magical and keeps the tigers at bay."
"What? That is bs. Provide Evidence for this obviously suspect premiss."
"Do you have any evidence my farts aren't magical? Do you see tigers overrunning Canada? You are just being dismissive asking for evidence."
Is it any wonder why idiots believe, the earth is only 6,000 years old or that evolution is false or the global warming is a hoax? They have this crazy idea that anything someone is saying is equally valid and that asking for evidence is somehow being narrow minded. LOL. ![]()
But one of my buddies managed to play some 25 odd minutes of Andromeda. Do not ask me how he did as telling how would cost someone his or her job.
The vertical slice he played was small and he is soooo not as obsessive as we are (tho he is a fan) but he let me know a couple of things.
1: there us a Krogan character in the squad so far called Drake.
2: There is a Synthetic in the squad...it is not a geth
3: A big thing that was a focus of this was showcasing the "no loading times". Apparently there are none. From flying through the "map" to picking a planet to landing with the squad. Problem my friend was made aware that thanks to this approach graphical features were loading after game play begun. He did not care much....but the person making him aware was not happy.
4: Squad AI was better than he remembered from ME3. He pointed out the companions were aggressive and actively using shields when the team was taking damage and whatnit but he made it sound like they were more like the Geth deployable shields from the early ME1. Might have been me interpreting wrong tho. Game play was described as "familiar" and "refined" from ME3.
Sorry, not much in the way of concrete info but eh, thought I'd share
Sounds like an alpha testing session. I've been through a couple with __________ and ___________ game companies. I signed NDAs with them that were worded so that I couldn't even tell a priest in confession without being sued even though the games have been out for years now. The NDAs are lifetime. Now we need to find you and waterboard you to find out the name of your friend.
And in an alpha testing session you're not going to get much in the way of concrete. They're limited to a particular thing they're testing.
Are you on that monthly duty or something? You seem stressed. You need some milk.LMFAO. i love how demanding evidence is being dismissive.

Good idea.
We're taking part in a military operation to colonize new planets.
An expansion minded Krogan would be perfect. Plus they know how to share too (Wrex offered to let Shep live on Tuchunka due to how f*cked up Earth was)
Everything keeps bringing up questions about wtf 'canon' is followed/what story matters.
Like sure that's nice for a Wrex peace outcome, but there's others too, including Krogan not giving a damn about anyone else and only temporarily assisting the Turians to stop the Reapers just because there's no other way.
I guess technically a character could be written that is expansionist but also a moderate about it personally.
I don't even know a physical store that would carry PC games.Right. Who would buy ME3-PC in a store rather than via Origin? I guess if you have a bandwidth cap it makes sense, but other than that?

Cora is a known human name while most Asari names are not remarkably human.
EDIT: Possibility of an Asari born from Asari and Human relationship. In fact, its made out to be a point, not just from a potential Shepard+Liara relationship, but in some ambient dialogue in ME3 (again its always been known, I'm just pointing out the NPC on the Citadel).
While I am totally fine with there being a synthetic companion(sad they aren't a Geth though), I think it would be really cool if the intelligence inside the body wasn't a VI or AI but actually a Virtual Alien.
They could still be a Geth and look diferent. Geth are software; they can upload themselves to whatever has the processing power, be it quarian suits or anoying bombing drones.

It doesn't get locked, meaning, it's not real. ![]()

True, but I doubt it. If they were going to have a Geth as a companion, they'd almost certainly have them in their iconic image.
aww Julia I love you too
You know I'm kidding, right.... right?
I'm suffering with the GI bug, too.
Or is that what Bioware wants us to think.
May the conspiracy theories begin!
Well, it's not as if this leak reveals much about ME:A. Rumours about a krogan companion aren't new, the game development part isn't spoilery itself and only the bit about the synthetic companion is really surprising, although it wasn't very revealing either.

So, what you're trying to say is that Cora is a blonde bimbo?
Back on topic. I think he's shooting directly from the hip and not even knowing whether or not the person is being direct with him. We're so thirsty that any news is good news.
EDIT : There's a youtube vid out there from early on the stages of Andromeda's development where they first showed off the Mako. It was at San Diego ComicCon, I believe. This was before they could even talk about the name, so expect a lot of "I can't talk about that." However, there is a question in there that's relevant. It is something along the lines of, "We've heard that there will be no loading screens on next gen consoles? Is that true?" The guy at BioWare does his best to answer him saying they're relatively new and they'll just have to wait and see. Well, it looks like we've seen, or those special select few have seen.
May the conspiracy theories begin!

Nothing so far has shocked me other than it taking place in Andromeda, and even that was like a - uh, static shock like touching the soup can while going grocery shopping for it already. Going out of the home galaxy in itself, to some extent, to me was almost a given (even if it would have been a single mission that teases the outside of the 'edges' of the galaxy).
Everything so far has gone down lines that apply to most interpretations of the MEU. In terms of even ME3 ending theories, everything we've seen can fit an entirely literal view of the endings (especially in the regards to a pre-ending ark being sent out), while everything could fit IT or any of my more personal ideas.
We need substance. So far we've got a broad brush and a bit of fluff. Thankfully we should be getting this substance, and hopefully the game itself, this year.
uh....Julia we have spoken to one another here for years of course I know you are kidding. Also try Pedialyte when you stop puking...You know I'm kidding, right.... right?
I'm suffering with the GI bug, too.
As if the bot mods even know what Mass Effect is.
Are you on that monthly duty or something? You seem stressed. You need some milk.
Wow you really are intellectually challenge. What I have an '80's musician in my avatar that is female so you can't tell that someone named GothFATHER is male? I think you are the one who needs milk and must be feeling stressed when you can't even be accurate with your sexist remarks. Not exactly a stellar example of your mental prowess now is it? Just like thinking asking for evidence is not sceptical but dismissive.
~golfclap~
Andrew, bro, don't be a Snowman, nobody likes snowmen.
And don't attack people personally you arse.
I don't even know a physical store that would carry PC games.
There are a few electronics boutique/game stop, and best buy are two locations that i know of that carry pc games, at least in canada.
That said the selection is very small and many many pc games are not ever released in physical formate. And companies are now doing something even more clever with PC titles, DA:I never sold a deluxe edition in physical form. You could get the inquisitor edition and the standard edition but not the deluxe edition as a physical item from a store. But Origin sold a $10 digital deluxe upgrade this ensuring the the publisher got all of the $10 difference between the two editions.
The above said You are right until such time as digital downloads are included in unit sales there is no fair unit sales comparison between PC and console markets.
