I initially played DAI for PS4 early last year before any DLC came out.  After doing both DAO and DA2 on PC, I finally purchased GOTY for PC.

Regarding the DLC, are there any new companions that come out of the DLCs like Sebastian in DA2?

I'm currently doing Descent.  Are all DLC to be played like the other areas that come available after Haven?  Or are there some that should be played after the climax against Cory?

So far, I'm impressed with the graphics of Descent.  They're better than the already good graphics in the vanilla game.  The darkspawn look better than those in DA2 or the rather bland-looking darkspawn in the vanilla game.

Any informal order I'm supposed to follow between DLC and non-DLC areas after Haven.

Jaws of Hakkon and Descent are both downloadable content that features areas that you can leave and return to as you see fit with few exceptions. Trespasser does, however, not and is the only downloadable content that the player can neither leave nor return to as it takes place after some years as well as functions as an epilogue. Following the conclusion of the DLC, a credit roll initiates after which the game ends. To my knowledge, there are no companions added through these DLCs.

Personally, I feel Descent is best played during the campaign and that Jaws of Hakkon is best played a while before the final quest in the campaign or after the campaign as it contains comments and remarks about events that has taken place.

No new companions.

Descent and Hakkon can be played at any time, before or after the end of the game.

Trespasser is an epilogue and will only start after you have beaten the main game.

Jaws of Hakkon can be fairly difficult if you do it early, though.

If I were you, I would skip everything and jump right to the Trespasser DLC. You will need time to get over the very emotional ending and the best way to keep your mind busy is by playing sth new, like the other DLCs. :) If you are a Solasmancer then you will also need tissues (no, there will be no sexy scene, just sad scenes).

Nah, nothing sad about the Trespasser ending, this is how you will react.

Not a Solasmancer though he is one of my favorite companions.  On the issue of romance, any special DLC impact on the various romances?  (Probably not, but I had to ask...)
