I still can't believe there aren't preset Tactics.

I am amazed. It's been a year, and it's such a simple yet essential feature. Instead I have to sit through dialogue box after dialogue box. Unbelievable.

Why can't I just click once to turn a spell either On or Off or Preferred? And a button to turn all off or all on or to a preset would be amazing. THIS IS SO EASY I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Instead I have to click a spell - click twice over - click okay - go to the next spell - LIKE WHAT?

Man, neither could I. But then, then I got drunk.

It really helped. I can suggest!

Come, let us imbibe the drink of peace, as we ponder where exactly Tactics went.

Frankly, I'm uncertain you ever played Origins, because clicking three times would not be an issue if you did.

In addition, the entire system seems about a customization with which, turning all into one state would make little, if no sense.

Another "valued" discussion on the BSN I see. Isn't it preset as in all turned on from the get go?

Yes. Except Focus-based abilities, that start on Off, as to not have the AI waste them on the first group of Nugs you find.

What? What are you talking about? Are you saying that this isn't a problem because as soon as you learn an ability it's automatically turned on? Are you SERIOUS? THAT is what you qualify as preset? Is that a joke!?

How is this not a "valued discussion"? For a game that's supposed to have a PC port that hearkens back to the original, as Bioware originally said this game would, it's incredibly NOT PC-friendly. Say I want to have a specific set of Tactics turned on for my mages. I don't want their AoE abilities to be turned on, because god knows the AI in this game is god awful and they'll blast those abilities all over the damn place without any consideration for who they're harming, friend or foe. So I want maybe about a handful of their single target abilities turned on. I'll click through all of the ones that I want on and keep the ones that they could abuse turned off and use those at my discretion. Then say I approach an Elite Boss fight or a dragon fight, where (since I play on Nightmare, I don't know about you) I can't leave ANYTHING up to the AI. I have to single-handedly control each of my characters actions - which I enjoy. It's why I play this game. I like that strategic element. Instead of being able to go into their Tactics and clicking ONE button to turn EVERYTHING off, I have to sit there and flick through dialogue box after dialogue box turning EACH AND EVERY ability off. AND THEN - WHEN I'M DONE and I want to go BACK to where my tactics were set up before, I HAVE TO DO THE SAME EXACT THING.

It's absolute garbage, and it shouldn't be the case. The implementation of ONE BUTTON is not asking much from Bioware and EA. But apparently, they don't care.

I never had any issues with AoE spells and the AI. Am I just super lucky? I played with three mages on nightmare...

You can turn AI tactics off totally with a single click under behaviours

My companion AI for AOE spells worked fine actually. Dorian triggered his time-slowing one when I dropped from a high places in between combat sometimes, or near the end of battle, but Solas was really smart with his firestorm ability. Idk

Still, I really miss the obsessive prioritizing and ordering of tactics the previous games allowed. It made me feel like I truly dictated the battles.

I thought that the tactics technique was pretty easy (I don't use it often, but, still).  Check a box, mark with a star, make it preferred or don't or even turn it off.

Hmm...  Maybe it's just easier on console?

Eh, I got over it. I've never been much for using tactics anyway.

I play on nightmare with trials. On PC. No problemo. Ba-dum-tush.

Umm... not each and every ability. Many of them would already be off since you never want the AI using them, right?

I'm not clear how this actually causes problems for you. If you're controlling every character's actions anyway, when would the AI even get a chance to act? Plus, as CronoDragoon mentioned above, there's that checkbox thing that turns AI off.
