(I'm not sure if something similar already exists but we all know the awesome search function of this forum :D )

Hey folks,
I never used this bow before. I just thought, "what all attacks deal electricity damage? , well sucks on NM when enemies have immunities, has no Grip upgrade slot, has + crit chance (no need for that)."
But it was about time to give it a try and about that bow I can say "this pleases me" ;)
Note: I am comparing it to Hakkon's Wrath, players who don´t have Hakkon's Wrath but Andruil's Gift should be happy with it, especially on perilous and lower because there are (as far as I noticed) no enemies with immunities.

1. Only a few abilities are affected by the bow to do electricity damage instead of their normal physical damage.
Affected abilities:
- Leaping Shot
- Throwing Blades
- Full Draw

Not affected abilities:
- Caltrops
- Explosive Shot
- Long Shot
- Elemental Mines
- Spike Trap
- Evade (with upgrade)
- Toxic Cloud

2. Up- and downsides of the bow:
Ups:
High base damage (a bit more than Hakkon)
+48% Attack (equals 96 Willpower)
It seems to make double hits, doing damage twice on each auto attack hit which can result in more damage than with Hakkon bow, especially on vulnerable targets. (Use with Fire or Frost Rune, see edit at the end of post)
There are not many enemies who are resistant or immune (depending on difficulty you play) and many vulnerable to electricity.
The paralyze effect is a minor feature but can come in handy.

Downs:
Does not have the Hakkons +100% crit damage bonus.
Has no upgrade slot except for rune slot.
Has no Heal on Kill, so you have to use ring(s).
With the loss of the 100% crit damage bonus, abilites do slightly less damage.

3. Summery:

The Archer, who is spamming abilities more than using auto attacks benefits less from the bow than the Hunter who has to deal with ability cooldowns and using auto attacks more often.
If you have at least one or two abilities which are not affected by the change of damage type you can still deal with enemies which are immune to electricity.
Abilities which increase attack speed (battle of the bands, Ring from the horny girl) make this bow even better.
Overall I would say with Hakkon's Wrath you still do more damage than with Andruil's Gift but it´s not much (I feel comfortable with it on NM, not tested on HB) and it´s a nice change to using the same weapon over and over :)
---------------------------

If I am wrong anywhere or I forgot something to mention let me know, I like constructive critics :D
I hope one or two of you find it interesting.

Edit: Someone said the double damage is only working when a Fire or Frost rune is attached to it a Lightning rune will reduce it to normal one hit. I did not test it myself but I will do that someday ;)

I don't have Hakkon, but I do have Andruil's Gift.. I have been wondering how they stack up.  Thanks for sharing.

You are welcome. But to make it clear, I didn´t do any calculations. I just checked for the affected abilities and the damage I do with different bows. So it´s just my experience :)

Bah, perhaps promotion lords need these clutch weapons, but I carry forth the glory of Hakkon Wintersbreath. Into the fade.

Also, I never got Bosuns blade therefore it does not exist #DAIMPconspiracy #thereisnolag

I just got Winterbreath and it doesn't do 50% extra damage!  I think it does closer to 15%.  I swapped between Evermarch and Wintersbreath and when there are 2 or 3 enemies nearby they both did about the same damage.

Yup, working as intended. Wintersbreath is poo. That shield is a false god! Praise Hakkon!

Dancer's Axe

Crescent's Shadow

:)

The dmg from dancers SUCKS when compared with hakkon :(

HoP is kinda justifiable on Saarebas.

But yeah, Crescent is probably the only thing that can out shine hakkons.

EDIT: sorry nvm the above. Forgot you are a member of the promotion scrubs and can 1 shot everything on NM with basic attacks at level 1 blah blah blah...

I often use low level weapons when playing perilous. Annihilating everything is boring for me as well as for the rest of the party.

So, question about Andruil's Gift.  It looks like it uses the exact same model as another bow, except it has lightning flashing around it.. so my fire runed Gift has BOTH fire and lightning.

Just curious what the doppelganger bow is...

EDIT: Found it.. Bow of Artifice ( http://dragonage.wik...ow_of_Artifice)
