Hi fans

I know that it is "slightly" late, but only now did I manage to sit down and finish my version of a Mass Effect 1 movie.

It is split into 2 parts (being over 5 hours long) and only contains the relevant sections that promote the main storyline. If you watch it, you might see that some things are "out of place" or that there are some "interesting" additions. Everything was done in order to add to the movie experience, since I wanted it to be as movie-like as possible.

It does not contain just the cinematics. I included gameplay footage but in such a way so as to promote a movie experience and contribute to the continuity of the main story.

So, no DLC's for this one, sorry, even though I have them, mind you. I'm not some kind of lazy fanboy  :P .

Also, a lot of the viewers might - and probably, will - disagree with a lot of the choices in the movie. Fair enough, but it is my version, so I played Shepard as the hero I imagined him to be.

In any case, go watch them both, subscribe, follow, etc. and leave comments below the videos.

Will go to calibrate something now...

Dang, and I thought I spent a lot of time making fanfic. How long did this take to put together?

Months...but I wasn't spending 24/7 on it. I guess that it would take around 2 months working on an 8-hour basis, 5 days a week.

Nice, we're about equally crazy for Mass Effect then. I'll have to give your movie a full view sometime.

What a wonderful idea. - If only I had your resolve I think I'd have to do something like this of my own.

Check it out Deager, need pop-corn and Mass Effect craziness :)

Bliss, it's really about time, and since I'm unemployed, I have all the time in the world...sort of. If you like the franchise, start the project and finish it at your own pace. It's worth it :).

Hobbyman, a man after my own heart!!!

I too created a Mass Effect movie (3 actually), I see you got rid of the conversation wheel (the toughest part) and added sub-titles (Wow, a lot of work!).  I have downloaded the movie and will watch it in full tonight, I want to see the choices you made compared to what I did!  Here are my movies if you or anyone want a look:

Good work, Sir!

I will watch them, cool-ness (why the dash? :P), getting rid of the wheel was not very difficult when working with a program that gives you the ability to crop the movie. The subtitles where a pain, true.

Have fun with the movie and get ready for my next projects: Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 2: The Hidden Files and Mass Effect 3. All in good time ;)

Hobbyman,

cool-ness is old, before spaces where permitted, it stuck...   I look forward to your future projects, if you want to try removing the wheel without the cropping try this mod

(PC only): http://social.biowar...m/project/2825/

Your movie is well done, I learned a thing or two like tying one scene into the next, I think mine is weak in that area.

Thanks cool, I will try that mod because the wheel in Mass Effect 2 will force me to cut a lot of the image.

Edit: Hmm, just tried the mod cool, but it doesn't really help since the wheel is still there, albeit delayed. In any case thanks.

Edit 2: Damn, I just realized how this mod would help me...But I have to restart and re-record the entire game again to make it work and at this point I am doing the Reaper IFF quest. But probably I will restart because this mod will give me too much flexibility on the cropping to ignore it.

The mod is great because you can hide the HUD, enable the fly-cam (move the camera location) and change the FOV (change the field of view to zoom in or out)...  I used all these things in my ME2 movie if you want to see them at work:

Crap dude. LOTS of work there.

I'm checking it out now (and forwarding it to my brother, trying to get him interested in the ME game series).

No matter how many times I play ME1 (it's been a while now since the last play-through), or here just watching your "movie" work, I get a pleasant nostalgia, a warm fuzzy.  ME1, in spite of the clumsy controls compared to 2 and 3, is always going to be one of my favorite games of all time.  Great look, great story, good fun.

Hah!  I was my most productive with modding here while I was unemployed.  Now I am employed I barely have time to touch modding at all.

Sometimes wish I could have all that time again :-/

Well done.

Question...I see you have the ME2 AND 3 edits out too.  What sort of end did you use for ME3?  Did you use the official or a modded ending (MEHEM, etc)?

Hey Getorex, thanks for the support :)

Actually the idea for the movie was also for my brother who will probably not play it due to lack of time and hardware (crappy laptop is crappy). So, I wanted to show him the story of Shepard before it hits the theaters.

Personally, I consider ME2 the best in the series, story-wise and game-wise. The suicide mission along with the loyalty missions were just ingenious.

Actually, I haven't finished ME2 and ME3 yet...I'm editing ME2 at this point and playing through ME3 to check stuff and keep notes for the edit process. Probably it's someone else's work.

I won't use any mods for ME3. Tried the Textures mod but it fucked up with all my DLC so I won't bother. MEHEM is a very big discussion...I won't use it. The why can be discussed when I post the ME3 movie. Will be more than happy to present my argument for that.  :)
