Would you mind the Asari not being in Andromeda?

Blue humans with tentacles instead of hair. Such iconic, much wow.

Iconic does not equal interesting design. For example Klingons are iconic to Star Trek even though they are just humans with some rubber glued to their foreheads.

I could care less if they're in it or not.

von uber is overlooking the fact that women can also fool around with Asaris and even reproduce with them.

Asari don't discriminate when it comes to who they're sex objects for

Point was most women who play the game (I assume) would not find the Asari as sex objects, given that they are probably not gay.

Urgh, you say that as if only straight men and non-straight women are capable of objectifying, and that's the only thing we do when confronted with someone we find attractive. So, when my very straight girl friends gush over some random guy's butt when we have nights out, they are not objectifying them, especially not when they have explicitely referred to some of their past affairs as their boytoys?

And you know, it's not like we don't have plenty of exemples of Asari in different positions (pun intended) than merely strippers and mercs. Throughout the game we meet plenty of doctors, scientists, administrative officers, commandos, sellers. Why everyone seems to conveniently forget them and only focus on the strippers when criticising Asari is beyond me. Yes, it is silly from BW to say that most of their youth engage in these two professions since it's simply not realistic at all for any society. However, I fail to see why an entire race should be eliminated because some of them chose to exercise such activities, or we should do away with humanity as well, on the same grounds. It's not like there was a shortage of human strippers either, and one quite well-coordinated yeoman.

i hope that all(99%) Asari race will turn into Ardat Yakshi and extinct, and espesially i always wanted that whole Galaxy was know the truth about them and so they cant reproduce with anyone and none will give them this oportunity

I am sure that genophage must be done on Asari race cos they are dangerous much more than some primitive Krogans with Vorcha(at least they  both have some honor and moral rules and asari was never) who can defeated and die fast for various reasons

Asari is a parasites who not give anything good and replace other races with their only asari childrens who live 1000 years and do mindcontroll, mindreading and biotics, especially they love to marry wealth salarians who will soon die and they have alll what their husbands/wifes have..they can have hundreds of those moneybags

Its just 1-2 Asari on planet and for 1000 years they will consume and conquer planet with their race

So which one of you like Asari girls over human females.

You can be honest.

If ME character design has taught us anything, it's that human females are sexier than Asaris.  Miranda > Liara + Samara + Liara's mama

The notable pro Asari arguments fall into one of two camps.

1) We need attractive females in the game  (Human women look better than Asaris so why do we need blues?)

2) It's sexist if you exclude them (Asari aren't the only ME race with females)

Duh... it's the hair that makes Humans so special. Beards, toothbrush mustaches, unibrows, braided nose hair, etc...

I'd romance the Asari only if they have long blonde tentacles though.

Hah.  The Asari they designated as being the most seductive and sexual, Morinth, came off like a masculinized tomboy.  That isn't sexy.

Quarians have hair too :3. Tali was also a blonde in the concept art they most based her final design off of.

Um no, that wasn't my point at all. I have no idea how you came to that conclusion!

It's in the way you formulated your answer. Although I probably did fly a bit off the handle there, not that it was entirely directed at you. Still, a bit of fanservice is fine, and the reasons that have been invoqued (not by you) beforehand to justify the removal of the Asari from the next game are not good.

I understand that you were trying to point out the inequality of treatment for female straight gamers, but as SolNebula mentionned, fanservice for women wasn't lacking at all in DAI. I do support the introduction of male strippers in MEA, I'm definitely all for greater equality (I just won't give them my credits), and if DAI is any indication, BW does try bringing more candies for female (straight) gamers, but I want to keep my alien eye-candies too. Notwithstanding that removing one of the most influential race of the MW from MEA makes no sense at all to me. I'd feel the same if someone asked for the removal of the Turians, or Salarians for -insert whatever inane reason-

I'm already afraid enough for the non-Council races as it is, although we know that there's at least one Krogan. What made Mass Effect memorable for me was the different races and civilisations we met. Without them, it's not Mass Effect anymore. We might as well play some Star Wars game, with the Force instead of Biotics. Ideally, I want the MW races to be better fleshed out in Andromeda, and show new facets of their civilsations, as well as meet our new Andromedan neighbours. I realize some races will most likely disappear, I don't hold much hope for Batarians, but the absence of any of the three other Council races is really nonsensical, unless the ARK is a purely human project, which I doubt very strongly.

There is something off about the animation in all those .gifs.

The level of uncanny valley is just too damned high. Fan animations are usually terrible.

What are you thankful for? They were evidence to determine whether asari should be in MEA or not!

It's actually kind of funny BioWare mods will remove gifs of their own game. Granted, those were fan-made, but still.

Really? then the Human Master Race need to use all the resources/funds we have and give it to them vagrants in order to turn all Quarians into romanceable blonde aliens.

Exactly! This is why we need this for gender equality:

It's not fair if only guys get all the fan service!

Screw Krogan, give me a Turian any day. >:-)

Honestly I feel like leaving out any of the races from the OT would be a waste, but that's just me.

And holy frak, we get to use OT in reference to Mass Effect now

That would be fine.

I mentioned in another thread that an asari can be the ships janitor. As the main character walks around, someone over the intercom says "cleanup needed on deck 3", an asari comes out of her closet running with her mop and bucket

That's hot.
